Jaroš, Filip ; Mandl, Petr (referee) ; Bohumský, Petr (advisor)
The dissertation can be viewed at as a contribution to the discussion about using genetic information in the insurance industry. The debate is fully being held in the United Kingdom and other countries. It is only a matter of time when the discussion will be launched in the Czech Republic. Macdonald's and Pritchard's model (2000) of Alzheimer's disease in long-term care insurance is applied to the Czech pattern of mortality. A calculation of the expected present value of benefits is shown on an illustrative example of long-term care insurance. A quantification of adverse selection which is perceived as a reason for differentiation of ratings depending on the genetic profile of a policy applicant is a mathematical conclusion of the study. The appendix deals with the broader ethic and economical matter of the problem discussed.

Jírů, Filip ; Hájek, Milan (advisor) ; Horký, Jaroslav (referee) ; Mechl, Marek (referee)
Spectroscopic imaging (SI) is the method which enables non-invasive studying of the metabolite composition of tissues in vivo from multiple regions simultaneously. The objective of this thesis was to develop a methodology for the reliable evaluation of in vivo SI data. The thesis addresses several aspects of the evaluation of SI data as described below. The processing of SI data represents a complex issue requiring dedicated evaluation programs. Although various spectra processing programs are provided by the vendors of MR scanners, software enabling complete SI data processing and analysis is not available. The CULICH program has been developed within the framework of this thesis to enable the comprehensive processing of SI data. The program offers advanced functionality for evaluation of SI data. The initial experience with the program shows that CULICH is suitable for evaluation of SI data measured in both clinical practice and the experiments. The accuracy of calculated concentrations is of high importance for each quantification method. SVS techniques can be taken as the gold standard for quantification of MR spectra. Therefore, to asses the accuracy of the metabolite concentrations measured by SI, the comparison of results obtained by SI and SVS was performed. The direct comparison of results obtained...

Vyhodnocení plodnosti plemene zwartbles ve vybraném chovu
STAŇKOVÁ, Dana
The aim of this thesis was evaluate fertlility of the Zwartbles sheep in zhe flock of sheep breed by Mrs. Marie Schickerová. In the reporting period of 3 years (2013 2015) were a total of 261 ewes evaluated by the followinf parameters: fertlization, reproduction intensity, total rearing, infertility, rearing of lambs born and total mortality of lambs. Basic reproductive parameters were compared with the flocks originating from the Union sheep and goats of the Czech Republic. They were monitored factors that have or may have an impact on fertility. The first factor was the impact of age on fertility, selected second order lambing and the last was the influence line. The average fertility of the herd reached 200,39%. The average share of fertilization was assessed at 91,98%. Sterility reached the level of 8,02 %. The amount of the total breeding herd stood at 159,76%. Intensity of production reached 184,34 %. Mortality was 13,34% and thus survival rate of lambs was 86,66 %. Based on calculations, it was found a hightly significant effect of age and rank lambing fertility. Influence line was not clearly demonstrated. Statistical evaluation of indicators of fertility, the intensity of reproduction, fertilization and overal breeding showed differences in the average monitored herds compared with herds in the performance tests.
