Optimization of network position prediction
Pospíšil, Petr ; Pfeifer, Václav (referee) ; Burget, Radim (advisor)
This work is about position prediction in network, it is focused to find Landmark closest to the Host in the network (with lowest distance vector). The algorithm is based on GNP system. In terms of GNP system simulation was selected method for mathematical part of position prediction. The method was Simplex Downhill. The designed algorithm was implemented in Java. In the first step chose Host continent by meassuring the distance vector. In next step is selected nearest part in the continent. In conclusion estimate Host its position and then closest Landmark. Results from this work is important for designing TTP protocol. The verdict is that the GNP can be used for TTP, but Landmarks must be located in uniform density.
Algorithmic trading
Uherek, Jiří ; Stádník, Bohumil (advisor) ; Fičura, Milan (referee)
The diploma thesis is focused on algorithmic trading. In the first part the theoretical background is summarized. This part is particularly focused on definition of algorithmic trading, execution mechanisms, quantitative strategies, including problems regarding backtesting, and also on benefits and threats of algorithmic trading in market's point of view. The thesis also offers an introduction to genetic algorithms. In the practical part the strategy using genetic algorithm to find optimal combination of particular strategies is developed. The results showed that using genetic algorithms was beneficial for given data series. They also showed that the size of transaction costs is crucial for strategy performance same as dividing data series into testing sample and validation sample.
Datamining - teorie a praxe
Popelka, Aleš ; Maryška, Miloš (advisor) ; Machač, Ivo (referee)
This thesis deals with the topic of the technology called data mining. First, the thesis describes the term data mining as an independent discipline and then its processing methods and the most common use. The term data mining is thereafter explained with the help of methodologies describing all parts of the process of knowledge discovery in databases -- CRISP-DM, SEMMA. The study's purpose is presenting new data mining methods and particular algorithms -- decision trees, neural networks and genetic algorithms. These facts are used as theoretical introduction, which is followed by practical application searching for causes of meningoencephalitis development of certain sample of patients. Decision trees in system Clementine, which is one of the top datamining tools, were used for the analysys.
Modern trends in the area of computer physics
SURYNEK, Radek
The theme of the thesis is to make a list few fundamental modern methods which can be used in computerized physics. The thesis describes parallel computing, neural networks, genetic algorithms, fuzzy logic. Every chapter include theoretical description, simplified mathematical expression, proposals of technical solution. Applications are briefly mentioned here too. The printed matter is completed with a few simple examples. The closing part of the thesis acquired information about these methods and outlines their future development.

Evolutionary techniques in physical design for FPGAs
Daněk, Martin ; Muzikář, Z.
This paper disscusses two studies of using evolutionary algorithms in physical design for FPGAs. The first study presents an adaptation of a genetic algorithm that optimises parametres of a linear delay model for Xilinx XC4000 FPGA and compares their performance to parameters optimised by hand. The second study showes implementation and performance of an adaptive technology mapping algorithm for XC4000 based on Wilsons XCS classifier system.
