Roma school children in primary and primary practical schools - reasons for the differences in the education
STROPNICKÁ, Kristýna
This bachelor thesis concern the problems involved in educating Roma children. Specifically, the goal of this study is to point out the effect that social order of the Roma family has on the quality and equal opportunities in the education their children receive in the town of Vimperk. The theoretical part of this paper will explore the development of the social and cultural life of the Roma minority and their subsequent social order in the Czech Republic. For my theoretical position, I have chosen the work of Pavel Barša, whose theory concludes that there are three major reasons responsible for Roma exclusion: socioeconomic, cultural and political. I will attempt to describe the social and economic situation of Roma families generally and analyse the social consequences economic, cultural and political exclusion has on the Roma minority nationally and, on the Vimperk society. Additionally, I will attempt to describe the Roma community´s traditional idea of education and specifically, the education of their children. The analytical part of the paper will study the reasons given why some children in Vimperk are educated in the primary school while others are placed in the primary practical sector. With the help of questionnaires and face-to-face interviews, I will try to determine the reasons for the differences in the education of Roma children.
Realization of Teaching of First Aid on the Practical Primary School and Special Primary School in Jindřichův Hradec
EMROVÁ, Monika
The bachelors thesis centers on the first aid education at Practical primary school and Special primary school in Jindřichův Hradec. The choice of the topic was based on author?s interest in the field. For years, the author has been volunteering for Regional Association of the Czech Red Cross and also teaches lay first aid. Every person should have a command of how to provide first aid; it counts among elementary education. The issues of health science and first aid have already become part of the Framework Education Programme for primary education - an addendum that regulates the education of pupils with mild mental disabilities; and also of the Framework Education Programme for pupil education at Special primary school. To accomplish the research objectives, the author chose the strategy of qualitative research. To accomplish the research objectives, the author used the technique of semi-structured interview, observation, and content data analysis. The research sample comprised of the pupils and teachers from the Practical primary school and Special primary school in Jindřichův Hradec. The first objective was set to identify the form and range of first aid education at the Practical primary school and Special primary school in Jindřichův Hradec. The research has shown that the Practical primary school and Special primary school in Jindřichův Hradec pay attention to first aid education and they consider it to be an important part of the Framework Education Programme. It was observed that the first aid education appears to be part of a number of educational areas and that the pupils with special educational needs are familiarized with the first aid basics through practical training. The second objective was to elaborate a method "How to teach first aid" at the Practical primary school and Special primary school in Jindřichův Hradec. The third objective was to implement the method in the curriculum of the Practical primary school and Special primary school in Jindřichův Hradec and verify its functionality. Given the group of pupils with special educational needs, it is believed that the draft of the method of "How to teach first aid" was appropriate and it met the condition of functionality. Based on these outcomes of the qualitative research, two hypotheses were defined. The first hypothesis is as follows: The pupils of the Practical primary school in Jindřichův Hradec are able to complete a training of how to provide first aid in case of minor injuries but also in case of life-threatening states. The second hypothesis is as follows: The degree of mental retardation, or nature of motor disability in pupils of the Special primary school in Jindřichův Hradec has a negative impact on the ability to practically carry out the first aid. The outcomes of the bachelors thesis may be utilized by the teachers in first aid training at the Practical primary school and Special primary school in Jindřichův Hradec.

Confrontation of selected pupils risk behaviour at Elementary school and Practical Elementary school in Rapšach
KEPKOVÁ, Jana
For my bachelor thesis I chose the topic ?The Comparison of Selected Risk Behaviour of Elementary School Pupils in the Elementary School and Elementary Practical School in Rapšach?. Risk behaviour is not a problem of the Czech Republic or Europe only, but it is a global problem. As its result, there are disruptions of the normal development of individuals in various areas of human life. If risk behaviour develops at an early age, its consequences may be even more serious and they may affect the individual?s upcoming life. Risk behaviour affects both the biological and psychological sides as well as the social side. In spite of that, the age at which an individual engages in risky behaviour decreases. Data for this work was collected on the basis of quantitative research, the method of questioning and the technique of an anonymous questionnaire. On the basis of the data, previously established hypotheses were verified or falsified. The respondents were interviewed in the presence of an administrator at school, but with the exclusion of their teachers or other similar authorities close to them who could affect the validity of the collected data. The thesis includes a theoretical part, which further describes the selected types of risk behaviour, the statistical evaluation of their occurrence and also the characteristics of the period of life, in which the respondents are. The practical part sets the objectives, it describes the course of the actual research and also discusses with the authors from which I drew. The objective of the research was to map the occurrence of selected types of risk behaviour among the pupils in the second half of their education at the Elementary School and Elementary Practical School in Rapšach and then to compare the obtained data with each other. The research shows that a certain type of risk behaviour is more typical for boys and another for girls, as well as some phenomena are increasingly encountered in the Elementary School and others at the Elementary Practical School. It is, however, not exceptional that certain phenomena occur in almost comparable representation in all of the respondents. The results of the thesis can be used in practice for the needs of additional research, education, implementing more effective programmes of primary prevention, for school prevention needs, and for the creation of minimum prevention programmes, etc.
Freetime activities of pupils with a handicap in practical and special primary schools in Region Český Krumlov and České Budějovice
ŠTIKOVÁ, Petra
My thesis deals with the free time of mentally handicapped children who attend practical and special primary schools. The theoretical part describes especially the problems of free time and a mental handicap. I also included the integration of mentally ill people into the society and a short excursion to the system of educational institutions for mentally ill pupils. The objective of the thesis is the find out about the offer of free time activities in after-school institutions for the pupils of practical and special schools in the districts of Český Krumlov and České Budějovice and to find out if the pupils participate in these free time activities. The next objective is to find out if after-school institutions offering these free time activities sufficiently inform the pupils of practical and special primary schools on the offer of hobby groups and if the use of this offer depends on the financial situation of a family. The last objective is to find out about the offer of free time activities in terms of practical and special primary schools. The research was carried out by the help of a questionnaire for the parents of pupils from practical and special primary schools and further by the help of two controlled interviews. The first interview was carried out with the headmasters of practical and special primary schools and the second was carried out with the representatives of free time institutions. Everything took place in the districts of Český Krumlov and České Budějovice. From the collected data the following facts resulted: free time activities in after-school institutions are available for the pupils of practical and special primary schools and the offer of hobby groups in these schools fulfills the needs of pupils who are interested in these groups. An exception is The Practical Primary School in Loučovice which does not offer any hobby groups. It would be appropriate to open a hobby group there. The research also proved that the necessity of payments for after-school hobby activities is not the reason why some children do not participate in them. The main problem lies in the information net between free time institutions and a school and subsequently between a school and parents. The situation is that the pupils attend only hobby groups in terms of a school even if they could have wider range of choice in after-school institutions.
Education of mentally handicapped children
ŠLÉGELOVÁ, Linda
ABSTRAKT Education of Mentally Handicapped Children The bachelor thesis deals with the condition of mental retardation and with education of children affected by this condition. The theoretical part deals in detail with the condition of mental retardation, its levels, causes, forms of prevention and diagnosis methodology. The thesis also deals with education of children and young people diagnosed as mentally handicapped. Hence, special nursery schools earmarked for such children are described as well as preparatory grades of special primary schools, special primary schools themselves, the basic practical training schools, one-year practical training schools, two-year practical training schools and some secondary level apprentice schools - which can be attended by mentally handicapped students. Description is also presented of lifetime education; such as specialised courses, evening classes and so called activation centres whose establishment is being envisaged. The thesis also deals with education consultancy establishments focussed on mentally handicapped children and young people; such as pedagogy and psychology consultancy centres, special pedagogy centres, educational care centres and the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology Consultancy. The final part of the theoretical part deals with the theory of education of the mentally handicapped people, where didactic principles are described as well as didactic methodologies, forms of teaching and teaching aids necessary for education of such person. I gave a description of development of individual educational programmes also, without which integration of such children would not be possible in many instances. The topic of the practical part of the bachelor thesis is qualitative research carried out at a basic practical training /special basic/practical training school in Most (hereinafter ``Special Comprehensive School (in the town of Most){\crqq}). The aim was to map in a complex manner the special pedagogical care of mentally handicapped pupils as well as description of the system, methodology and approach to education of such pupils. The following methodologies and techniques were used for collection of data: observation with involvement of the observer, questionnaire-based methodology, semi-controlled interviews with the parents of the pupils, casuistry with 8-pupil sample and secondary data analysis. The hypotheses that can be derived on the basis of the outcome of the collection of the data are as follows: H1: The school teaching programmes employed at the basic practical training schools comply with the framework educational programme for the basic education - with the addenda aimed at slightly mentally handicapped pupils." H2: "The school educational programmes developed by practical training schools include methodology and forms of special pedagogical care." H3: "The best part of the teachers are not satisfied with the equipment of the schools with relevant materials.
Leisure time activities of children at special basic school and practical basic school.
LEPIČ, Jiří
The present Bachelor Paper is focused on leisure time activities of the pupils of primary schools - both practically-oriented primary schools and the special ones. As follows quite unambiguously from the theoretical assumptions, a meaningful use of leisure time by youth is affected by a number of factors. Literature specializing in the subject tells us a major role is played by the system of values and attitudes, but no less by the milieu where the youngsters are brought up. The Paper aimed to find out whether the parents of pupils attending the practical and special schools in Písek, Strakonice and Milevsko knew enough about organizations catering to the leisure time of children. Moreover, the Paper investigated the number of children engaged in the offered activities and examined the organizations they went to to spend their free time. The survey relied on three types of questionnaires: the first one was intended for parents of children going to the practical and special primary schools; the second one for employees of these schools; and the third one was designed for employees of organizations involved in providing the free time activities. The results returned in the questionnaires were then treated to statistical evaluation. Data obtained in Písek, Strakonice and Milevsko disproved my first hypothesis. My second hypothesis was proved true in its first part, but disproved in the second part. The results thus evaluated lead to this conclusion: parents of pupils attending the practical and special primary schools in Písek, Strakonice and Milevsko are not sufficiently informed on organizations catering to the leisure time of children. Attributable to this lack of information is the fact that most of pupils at the practical and special primary schools attended only hobby groups organized by the schools though they could choose from many more such hobby groups as their parents were ready to pay for them.
