The role of the book in evolution of the children's imagination

The master thesis deals with the importance of the book in evolution of the children's imagination. The first part includes short introduction to problems of children's imagination. The second part is engaged in ontogeny of child from prenatal period to the middle childhood and in progress of key competences. It analyzes selected psychological approaches, which had the imagination as a subject of the research. The thesis explains and defines basic terms and processes of the imagination. It deals with a specific phenomenon of the children's imagination and with the evolution of the imagination. The third part introduces typical children's literature, directs on the traditional fairytale and it specifies problems of the literary characters too. It describes the historical development of the Czech book illustration, importance of the illustration in books for children and it also describes children's drawings. The fourth part applies all of previous pieces of knowledges into the work experience in kindergarten. It also describes relations between child and school or child and book. The final part of the master thesis includes summary of the information. [Author's abstract].
The face is afoot. Depiction of Sherlock Holmes in the Czech lands

The subject matter of this bachelor thesis is the evolution of depiction of Sherlock Holmes in the Czech region in book illustrations, comics, theatre and film. This thesis examines today's image of this fictional character and shows how this image has been created. It focuses on the subjects which make Holmes easy to recognize and explains when and how this objects were inserted into Holmes's world. Thesis analyzes periods of history in chronological order. First, it shows how Holmes looked in the novels of Arthur Conan Doyle and in the original English illustrations and dramatizations. Consequently, it analyzes this evolution in the Czech region from the first translations of Doyle's novels to the present day. The task of this paper is also to collect and to create list of every Czech depiction of Holmes that can be found.
František Tichý and his works in the 1940s

5 ANNOTATION The subject of this bachelor work is the description and presentation of the works of Mr. Frantisek Tichy. The aim is to focus on his works in the 1940s in the context of his peak of technical abilities and the development of spirituality in his works. For the purpose of organization, Mr. Tichy's artwork is classified by the date of the creation and organized accordingly. It is also divided into individual chapters in accordance to the techniques being used. The introduction of this work focuses mostly on the life of Mr. Frantisek Tichy. In particular, much is focused on his education in painting and the influential events in his life that have had an impact on his artwork. Undoubtedly, a large role in his artwork was thanks to his pedagogical role at the Fine Arts University in the 1940s. Much of his artwork also reflected the political situation and social changes of the time. Mr. Tichy did not adapt his works in favour of the principles of social realism and thus also was discharged from the university. The following chapters are devoted to his actual artwork. His artwork is clearly defined into many categories such as: painting, graphics, illustrations, practical artwork and theatre. This thesis is under the name of Johan Wolfgang Goethe, Faust and has a theoretical and practical form, whereas is divided into three parts. The theoretical part deals mainly about Faust analysis, Johann Wolfgang Goethe´s work, further author´s life and personality are summarized in general level. The practical part is dedicated to the book design and illustrations for this work. The third didactic part creates on the basis of findings from the theoretical and practical part base for lesson of art education in the framework of the educational expertise.

It describes how elements function, how they are connected and how they interact with each other. All this thesis are demonstrated on examples and illustrations. There are numbers of quotations of great film director (Robert Bresson, Andrej Tarkovskij) whose thoughts are closely connected to Jacques Tati's work.

Abstract The thesis consists of two parts: theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part of my thesis I would like to describe the development of art, especially the prehistoric times, the specifics of the time and gradual changes, focusing on the life of prehistoric creatures and their development. Zoom personalities related to this topic, especially illustrators, painters, filmmakers, who are involved in public awareness about the picture of the time. Finally, I would like to mention the influence of authors and styles of the 20th century and approached the work of contemporary artists inspired by this theme. In the practical part of the thesis, deals with the presentation selected and died out creatures. To this I would like to take the theoretical and practical knowledge based on my work involved.

The thesis sloves graphic elaboration of book of poetry Tento večer written by Ivan Blatný. The thesis is divided to teoretical and practical part. In teoretical part are solved resources important for understanding the sense and essence of this poetry production. It`s necessary for create right form of practical realisation, which has to be created in accord of form and subject of poems. The source for this analysis are text of poems and special and technical literature about art literature, aesthetics and theory of art. Practical part resolves more than one art form. All these forms are trying to express essence of literary work. After analysis it seems that banality and commonness of human life are the essence of these poems. And the essence is to express myth of human life and searching sense of life.

The main goal of this graduation thesis is graphic execution of the book ``Romance pro křídlovku{\crqq} written by František Hrubín. I propose novel dust cover design, flyleaf, main title, deducation and collection of illustrations suitable for this book. The graduation thesis consists of practical and theoretical parts. Comprehensive reading and deep study of literary work of Frantisek Hrubin preceded the graphic realization of his piece ``Romance pro křídlovku{\crqq}. My aim is to explicate both content and formal aspects. The comparison with a TV adaptation of this piece is mentioned as well. The practical impact in educational process and graphic interpretations made by other artists are discussed in details. The theoretical part contains a description of a graphic execution itself. General difficulties with graphic execution, patterns and hidden obstacles are outlined in a relation to complexity of analysed book. The graduation thesis is concluded by my reflection about passages of poem most suitable for illustrations and selection of appropriate artistic technique.
