Theremin: Touchless Musical Instrument

This bachelor thesis deals with the design and implementation of a digital touchless musical instrument theremin. In the first part, the theremin, its features and existing solutions are first documented. The second part focuses on the documentation and testing of the software and hardware that can be used to solve this thesis. The penultimate part focuses on the actual implementation of the instrument and the creation of a working prototype. The final section tests functionality of the final prototype instrument.
Cultish music and chant in Ancient Egypt

7 Summary Kultická hudba a zpěv ve starém Egyptě Cultish music and chant in Ancient Egypt Ingrid Špátová, DiS. Music, although this term didn't exist in Ancient Egypt, has played a very importatnt role in the common and cultish Egyptian life. How Egyptian music sounded, can be just guessed, but some characteristics have been preserved on Coptic church. Egyptians probably used the pentatonic scale. Their musical tuning and performance had to observe strict rules to keep order of maat. One of the most important sphere of Egyptian cult have been funerary rituals, including processions with music and lamentations. A fundamental significance in funerary and temple cult have had women musicians, especially priestesses and chantresses of Hathor shemayet. They served to numerous deities, male and female, and they belonged to high- ranking families or to families of the high priests. There were several deities directly connected with music. Gods with the closest connections to musicians and deities with musical attributes were for example Hathor (lately unified with Isis), Usir, Bes, Meret, Hathor's son Ihy, Thovt, Bastet or Ptah. Title: Use of rhythmic stimulation in physiotherapy in patients with acquired brain damage Abstract: The topic of the bachelor thesis is the use of rhythmic stimulation in physiotherapy in patients with acquired brain damage. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part contains 4 sections. The first section is entirely dedicated to the acquired brain damage. The second section describes the motor system and structures involved in its management. The third section summarizes information related to music therapy, neurological music therapy, rhythmical stimulation in neurological music therapy, music, rhythm and their influence on the human brain. In the last section, the Therapeutic Instrumental Music Performance is described in more details, the elements of which are further used in the practical part. The practical part is built on two case studies illustrating two female patients with an upper limb motor disorder caused by cerebral stroke. During the therapeutic sessions with the patients different elements of Therapeutic Instrumental Music Performance were applied. Both patients used four musical instruments, accompanied by a metronome and played each of the instruments with some specific movements. Parametrizable Music Instrument for Mobile Platforms

The goal of this thesis is to create an application, which will be primarily used as three-axis parametrizable musical instrument, respectively a modifi ed MIDI controller, suitable for Android devices. Firstly, several products, which are available on the market, are reviewed and the reader is introduced to the problematics of audio synthesis, available technologies and typical Android device potential. The next chapter is dedicated to application design. Few designs are mentioned with focus on the chosen design concept. A part of this chapter is also a speci cation of the original concept, its implementation and advantages/disadvantages. The next part is dedicated to implementation and optiomalization of some of the critical points. Also the tests are evaluated including a survey about application usability. At the end, the whole work is concluded and the further development is outlined.
Experimental Software Musical Instrument on Android Platform with Ability to Control Parameters by Moving Phone

The purpose of this thesis is to create an application on the Android platform, which is characterized by an unconventional way of controlling the main melodic signal – by moving the phone. At the same time, the application allows you to edit the audio parameters on your phone's display. Another important feature is the ability to compose and later play chords, or other simple harmonies. The application design is preceded by a theoretical introduction, where I briefly analyze the musical terms and parameters of the application that I developed in the Android studio, Java language. Furthermore, I mention the actual methods of application implementation including code samples.
