The review article deals with the use of multi-criteria decision-making process in urban planning practice as a decision tool in making choices of multiple variations of possible urban development. Various methods are described in relation to the chosen topic of the dissertation thesis which is assessment of quality of public spaces. The aim of this article is to choose specific method applicable to the evaluation of the quality of public spaces in the Central European context based on the description of the various methods, their current use and the system of calculating.
Cultural aspects of stormwater management in the environment of Czech cities

The bachelor thesis focuses on new trends in stormwater management in urbanized areas, as well as on enlightenment which successful implementation of these strategies requires. The thesis describes historical development of drainage systems and introduces the reasons for unsustainability of current state. It also analyzes the implications of stormwater management and the ways of applying this new approach in urbanized areas. It also examines if there are sufficient endeavours to spread awareness and enhance enlightenment about stormwater treatment in the Czech Republic. For this purpose, qualitative method of research was used. The aim of the research was to demonstrate opinions of experts on water management, and also of organizations focused on environmental education.
Územní plánování - Metropolitní plán hlavního města Prahy

Urban planning form the space occupied by people, but their participation ratio is low. In spite of the fact that they can be concerned in city planning for example to be engaged in interest group, that could affect it. The thesis aim the question of the affect on the process of making Prague Land Use Plan (Metropolitan plan). The theoretical part defines the detailed explanation of the city planning and presents project submission of Metropolitan plan, and also set the context. In the practical part of the thesis the urban agents and their interests are charactised. The process of urban planning is influenced by three obligatory urban agents - the public, the interest groups and the political representation. The conclusion of this work is setting the way of affecting and their classification.
Community attitudes to growth of city part Prague 13

The diploma thesis is focused on community attitudes to growth of city part Prague 13. The aim is to evaluate using of planning designs witch lay on community and participative attitudes. Theoretical part of thesis describes community planning with its roles, principals, tools and also describes evaluation of land planning, strategy planning and planning of social services. Theoretical part is focused on process and plan of participation with its methods and risks. Practical part describes characteristic of Prague 13, community attitudes to strategy progress of land, land planning, planning of social services and evaluation of the local Agenda 21. One part of the thesis compares city part Prague 13 with city part Prague 9 in evaluating of community attitudes and methods of participation. The result of comparison is the more extensive use of community attitudes and methods of participation in city part Prague 13 compared city part Prague 9. The diploma thesis brings a complex view and evaluation of community attitudes and participation between citizens and city part Prague 13. Closing part brings a recommendation for increasing participation of citizens in part of planning.
The analysis of specifics of spatial planning in Germany and in the Czech Republic: The comparison between cities Regensburg and Hradec Králové

The diploma thesis focuses on systems of territorial and spatial planning in the Czech Republic and Germany. The aim of the thesis is to identify the similarities and differences in the systems and to show them on particular spatial plans of two cities of these countries. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on defining of basic terms such as territorial and spatial planning and sustainable development. It outlines the concept of territorial planning in the European Union. The practical part deals with territorial and spatial planning in the Czech Republic at the example of the city Hradec Králové and in Germany at the example of the city Regensburg. Within the practical part of the thesis the comparison of systems of territorial and spatial planning of both countries and the comparison of particular spatial plans of two cities is carried. The theoretical and practical parts are logically related. The thesis brings the information about functions of spatial planning in Bavaria to the Czech environment. It reveals the key differences in these systems, in both general and specific level. The thesis may show surprisingly high number of similar signs in the systems of both countries.

Thesis title: Procedure of application for a planning permission This diploma thesis deals with the planning permission proceedings, which is a proceeding to render the planning permission that is one of all instruments of land-use planning. The aim of this thesis is to cover the planning permission proceedings and to outline problematic aspects that are relevant in legal regulations. Beside relevant legal regulations the author results from literature and jurisdiction above all of the Highest Administrative Court of the Czech Republic. In introduction defines basic terms and subsume the topic into legal context and covers the goals and aims of land-use planning, as well as individual conceptual and realization instruments. In second chapter describes individual types of planning permissions and cases, when they are needed and on the contrary, cases, when it is possible to place projects into land without these planning permissions. Third and the most comprehensive part of the thesis dedicates to the most important institutes of the planning proceedings and analysis actual legal regulation, focusing provisions that can be problematic to apply correctly. The Urban Development of the City of Hradec Králové throughout 20th 21st Century

The bachelor’s thesis topic is urban development of Hradec Kralove city in 20th and 21st century. The thesis inquires into the city’s growth, hence urban development, and appearance. It presents a chronological evolution in historical consequences and briefly highlights the most important sights. The thesis describes the current state of the area from its functional division point of view. It summarizes basic findings about urbanism from the available literature and applies these to the city of Hradec Kralove. It defines problematic areas of the city’s development by analyzing territorial planning documents.
Urban analysis of the city Hranice na Moravě

The thesis is focused on the urban analysis of the city Hranice. The work is based on the Master plan of Hranice. In the teoretical part, the concept of the Master plan is defined and main functions of the plan are determined. Then it deals with urban analysis, urban planning, geographical position, natural conditions, demographic conditions and transportation. The outputs of this work include urban analysis which is focused on civic amenities, housing, environment and technical infrastructure. The final part defines the areas of development. Performed analysis determine the possibilities and barriers of the city develepment.

This thesis focuses on the determination of main changes in the urban planning process to allow for a better and more effective urban design. It applies the work of the Austrian School of Economics on urban planning and regulations. It critically reviews current system of urban planning, it's hierarchy, decision-making process, the role of public, and the role of private ownership and investment. It aims to offer a solution for an improvement in various fields of urban development. Results of this work are applied on an example of the agglomeration of Brno.
