Knowledge Economy and Education in the Czech Republic

Cílem diplomové je přiblížení problematiky znalostní ekonomiky a s ní související vzdělanost společnosti. Kritériem hodnocení je stávající stav znalostní ekonomiky, která je úzce spjata s historickým vývojem vzdělávání. Předmětem práce bude komparace úrovně a znalosti ve všech ekonomických aktivitách. Součásti práce bude mimo jiné i pohled na znalostní ekonomiku a vzdělávání v mezinárodním kontextu. Dále i zamyšlení nás pojmem znalostní ekonomika, potřeba vzdělávání. Tyto dva pojmy budou dány do souvislosti s problematikou konkurenceschopnosti organizaci a státu. Část práce bude věnována používání Indexu znalostní ekonomiky. Cílem práce bude tedy zhodnocení vlivu znalostní ekonomiky z různých úhlů pohledu.
Human resource management and knowledge economy in a selected company

The main aim of this work is to analyze human resource management and knowledge economy in a selected company and to propose steps to improve the situation. I divided the thesis into two parts. In the first part I concentrated on theory. After the study of technical literature I described the basic theoretical concepts regarding human resource management and knowledge economy. I then conducted a questionnaire survey. I used a questionnaire VSM 1994 and 2013 by Geert Hofstede for determining the desirable cultural dimensions. I used TBSD to identify the most shared words in the chosen company. Finally there were proposed some steps to improve the situation.
Lifelong education, employee selection and corporate culture of the chosen company

The main objective of this diploma thesis is to characterize forms of education in selected enterprise, analyse it in relation to the corporate culture and suggest changes leading to a desirable future state of the knowledge-based economy. In connection with the theme and the main objective of this thesis is the research also focused on the corporate culture, the recruitment and the selection of employees. The theoretical part consists of theoretical knowledge, which relate to the issue of development of employees through lifelong learning, selection of employees, corporate culture and knowledge economy. The practical part contains information about selected company. This part also analyses the corporate culture, the selection and training of employees, through the use of quantitative and qualitative methods. The obtained results are the basis for proposing effective changes. At the end of the diploma thesis are proposed some changes which should improve the current situation, especially the area of employee training to reach a knowledge-based economy in the future.

Bachelor thesis focuses on influence of the levels of education and knowledge economy on the economic performance of countries. The main method is one-dimensional econometric analysis of relationships between economic level of countries and values of PISA tests and Knowledge Economy Index. The literature review concerns about of education and knowledge economy itself . In practical part, there is executed the econometric analysis as mentioned.

This thesis deals with a relationship between the institutional environment and knowledge economy development in the European Union with an emphasis on the new EU member states from Central and Eastern Europe. First, the thesis describes the state of knowledge economy development in Central and Eastern European countries and then it assesses convergence of the region in the explored area with the old members of the EU. Then, the thesis evaluates the importance of institutional environment for creating conditions for the development of knowledge economy.
Znalostná ekonomika - aspekt zvyšovania konkurencieschopnosti v EÚ

The aim of the thesis is to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the knowledge economy of Member States of the European Union. Individual strengths and weaknesses are analysed, especially in the years 2010 to 2015, depending on data availability. Using panel data regression analysis identified the impacts of selected variables on the development of the knowledge economy. Included are variables public sector and institutional environment. The reference period is 2008 -- 2012. Discussion consists of draft recommendations that would improve the current situation of the knowledge economy in the Member States. The main data sources are Eurostat, OECD, and World Bank.
Education and human resources development in selected companies

The aim of the diploma thesis called "Education and human resources development in selected companies" is to highlight the prevalent forms of education in selected companies, to analyze them with regard to human resources development and to propose changes leading to improve the future knowledge economy. Two companies have been selected for research: Schwan Cosmetics CR, Ltd., based in Český Krumlov, which produces wooden cosmetic pencils, and Leifheit, Ltd., based in Blatná, producing domestic utensils and fabrics. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and an experimental part. The theoretical part required a number of relevant scholarly treatises to be studied. In this part, the basic terminology pertaining to human resource management, education of employees and knowledge economy is explained. The following part first describes the selected companies and then it focuses on the analysis of education of employees and the human resources development in these companies, by means of questionnaires and unguided interviews with heads of personnel departments. In the closing part, a summary of acquired data, together with recommendations and suggestions for possible improvements are included.

The main aim of diploma thesis, which called Influence of stress on work performance in selected companies, is to explore stress factors in the workplace and their influence on work performance. In the theoretical part of this thesis were summarized issues of stress, symptoms of stress, stress and healthy, types of stressors, stress factors in the workplace, stress management, work performance and pathological situations in the workplace, such as bossing, mobbing and sexual harassment.
Business Culture in Selected Company

The theoretical part of this thesis describes the importance and the attributes of the business culture, its dimensions according to Geert Hofstede and regularity in knowledge economy. The practical part focuses on the research itself in selected company. The selected company is company TKZ Polná, Ltd. This company is a renowned Czech producer of construction and furniture hardware and it is based in the Vysočina Region. The needed information is obtained using the questionnaire (VSM 94) among the employees and other heads of departments. According to the results of the questionnaires is characterized the corporate culture with the help of the specifications of their critical dimensions. On this basis are proposed changes that should lead to improvements - the shift to a knowledge economy.
The employee policy in a selected organisation

The aim of the thesis was to analyse the employee policy tools in a selected organisation and, if necessary, propose possible changes leading to the desired condition. The work is divided into two parts. In the practical part was the synthesis of scientific publications on the topic of Human Resource Management. The practical part contains the analysis of the activities covered by employee policy in the chosen company and suggestions for changes to improve its condition.
