BookSharing – Mobile Application for Book Sharing

The goal of this bachelor thesis is to create a mobile application for lending books between users. Users can add books to lend and also borrow them from other users, with the option of paying for the loan. The application is developed for the Android operating system using the Kotlin programming language. The application communicates with a server that is also developed in Kotlin using the Ktor framework. The server handles the storage, filtering, and processing of data that are stored in the server database and that are necessary for the proper operation of the application. The application's user interface and user experience were tested with six users and the results were above average.

Usability Improvement of Geovisto Library

This thesis aims to improve the user interface of Geovisto library, used for geospatial visualization. This is achieved by identifying issues using user testing and designing a solution for them. These solutions were implemented, and the second user testing tested their benefit. The result of the thesis is expanding the library with legends, units for numerical values, and tools for visualization of metadata, which all improve the user experience when using the library. Another result is a standalone web presentation of the library, its tools, and data miner.
Analysis of User Settings on Online Social Networks

The bachelor thesis deals with the development of a web user interface. The goal was to design and implement an interface for the server part of the Privchecker security tool, which deals with the security of users on social networks. The problem was solved by creating a client web application based on the React JavaScript library. It also addresses the issue of transfering user's credentials, testing of the implemented interface and analysis of user settings.
The Experience of New Social Media

-The Experience of New Social Media Communication with friends and family around the world is something that American expats in Prague have much experience with. Throughout this study, the author has attempted to relate in-depth user experiences with social media to both new media and historical sociology concepts, in order to better understand how social media is used and understood. The phenomenological research conducted focuses on varied user experiences of four Americans expats currently living in Prague, Czech Republic. The experiences explored begin with the respondents' adolescent experiences with social media and the internet, and continue through their current age as young adults. The sources used to interpret and understand these user experiences range from Erving Goffman and Pierre Bourdieu, to Marshall McLuhan and Karl Marx. The author's goal in the study was to test how both historical and new media theories hold true to concrete user experiences with social media and the internet. Smart Digital Mirror for Individual Sports

The aim of this diploma thesis is to create a practical solution for individual athletes in the form of a digital mirror, which can become an alternative to observing yourself in an ordinary mirror. The work contains and emphasizes the benefits of a digital mirror. Much of the work is devoted to the transfer of video between various devices for the ability to combine multiple videos on a single screen. The core of the solution is a mobile application for the Android platform, which works in various modes, the choice of which depends on how the application is used. The application was continuously tested with a group of users, resulting in iterative improvements to the application's features and the addition of new features. Furthermore, a web variant of the application was implemented, which increases the possibility of using the digital mirror across different platforms. The results of testing show that this whole solution can be used in the practical training of sports exercises and the application has the potential to connect with various sports.
Physiological Data to Analyze and Improve the User Experience

The goal of this thesis is to obtain dataset of physiological data for user emotions in order to analyze and improve human-computer interaction. This paper proposes of the use Empatica wristband to capture physiological data and Python for data processing. After evaluation, 94 % of intact data was obtained from the expected number of samples. Based on the obtained data, it is possible to better analyze the user experience and thus improve it.

This thesis describes the design, implementation and user testing of a user friendly spatial data query tool. The user interface was developed in cooperation with Clever Analytics. The company is developing a solution for spatial data visualization on an interactive map and data observation using various metrics. It is used by managers as support for their decisions. Designed tool allows simple creation of new indicators for visualizing metrics. It also allows editing and combining of already existing indicators. Users from management do not need to know technical background of entering metrics or creating indicators, therefore they are not dependent on consultants. It supports faster decision making and guides towards natural data exploration.
