Conversion of a combustion turbine burning natural gas to a combustion turbine burning hydrogen
Lněničková, Veronika ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (referee) ; Škorpík, Jiří (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with issues related to the combustion of hydrogen in gas turbines. In the introductory part, the technology of the gas turbine and its alternative fuels, which appear to be a suitable substitute for natural gas, are presented. The subsequent part of the thesis deals exclusively with hydrogen, its combustion in gas turbines and a description of the current state of production of turbines capable of burning hydrogen. The theoretical description was supplemented by the calculation of a gas turbine burning different volumes of hydrogen in the fuel. The result of the work is a summary description of the issue and an assessment of the influence of hydrogen on the parameters of the gas turbine.
Design of a combi cycle power plant based on a mixture of hydrogen and natural gas
Kopřivová, Anna ; Lisý, Martin (referee) ; Milčák, Pavel (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to create research on the use of a fuel mixture with hydrogen in gas turbines of combined cycle. The work deals with natural gas and hydrogen, their production and subsequent distribution or storage. It also contains a description of the combined cycle and the gas turbine, the calculation of which is devoted to a part of this work. The result is in analysis of the influence of the addition of hydrogen to the fuel mixture on the parameters of the combined cycle, together with an analysis of the possibility of using combustion with oxygen-enriched air in gas turbines, and the identification of critical points.
Combustion of a mixture of hydrogen and natural gas in the combustion chambers of boilers and gas turbines
Honzíček, Štěpán ; Kracík, Petr (referee) ; Milčák, Pavel (advisor)
Master‘s thesis specifically deals with very current topic of blending (low-emission) hydrogen and natural gas. A key view focus on combustion of a mixture hydrogen and natural gas. Preliminary part describes combustion of fuel gases in general and is followed by a technical search on construction of combustion chambers of boilers and gas turbines. It’s added information about current development and utilization of hydrogen. New projects of hydrogen combustion technologies are also introduced. Practical part shows a calculation of a gas mixture combustion balance in real conditions. It‘s extended by proposal and construction of a blending technology of hydrogen and natural gas with subsequent combustion in an uncooled combustion chamber. Concluding part includes a program for operating states calculating when the variables of introduced technology are changing.
Design of a combi cycle for heating plant
Rovný, Jan ; Kracík, Petr (referee) ; Milčák, Pavel (advisor)
Nowadays, European power production has to meet requirements than ever before. Environmentally oriented efforts end of coal mining and burning of coal, on which economies of a great number of countries depend. The main objective of these efforts is primarily the production of green energy from renewable energy sources and reduction of dependence on fossil fuels. However, the disadvantage of renewable sources (photovoltaics, wind farms) is their dependence on the weather conditions. As a result, there might be delays in supply of electricity, which must be compensated. One of the solutions is the launch of a combi cycle plant, which has the possibility of almost prompt start-up and electricity production. The combustion of gas and liquid fuels also ensures almost emission-free operation. In addition, thanks to the use of waste heat energy from the gas turbine, it is possible to operate the combi cycle unit with the character of a power plant and as a heating plant. The aim of this thesis is to search for combi cycles and balance calculation of the combi cycle heating plant under given conditions. In the last point, the approximate dimensions of the calculated heating plant are given.
Use of additive technologies (3d print) for the production of turbine components
Vaculka, Alexander ; Chýlek, Radomír (referee) ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (advisor)
In the first part of my bachelor thesis I deal with types of additive manufacturing technologies. Describing principle, technological solutions, bring up some advantages and disadvantages and typical area of their usage. Following part describes chosen turbine components and their mechanical property, shapes, and manufacturing aspects. Last part compares mechanical properties of additive manufactured components with components produced in conventional ways.
Aircrafts auxiliary power units
Baran, Jan ; Klement, Josef (referee) ; Šplíchal, Miroslav (advisor)
This bachelors thesis describes concepts used airborne auxiliary power units (APU) with respect to the determination of the main advantages and difficultes in the construction of individual concepts. It also defines the trends in this area. Part of the thesis describes the possibility of using fuel cells as an energy source on board the airplane.

Design of Self-Propelled Sprayer
Sovják, Richard ; Paliatka, Peter (referee) ; Zvonek, Miroslav (advisor)
The main aim of this master's thesis is innovative approach to design of self propelled sprayer with technical, esthetic, ergonomic and economic demands. The final design with it's modern and functional look should be an attractive element of agrotechnics. Another aim is also to fulfill social and psychological functions and address the public about protection of cultivated crops with emphasis on alternative energy and other uses of agricultural machinery.
Cogeneration unit with output 200 kWe
Tuček, Jan ; Moskalík, Jiří (referee) ; Lisý, Martin (advisor)
In this diploma thesis "Cogeneration unit with output 200 kWe" the first part describes the properties, drying and combustion of biomass. The next section deals with the description of the combined production of electricity and thermal energy and gas turbines. In the last part of the diploma thesis is devoted to the design and calculations of thermal cycle in order to achieve maximum efficiency.
Optimalization and calculation of transition duct design
Havlíček, Tomáš ; Náhlík, Luboš (referee) ; Paloušek, David (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to create a methodic and a system, which would involve customized computing and consequent design of the transition duct using input and applied data effectively and would achieve optimized set of parameters. The methodic described in the thesis is applied on transition duct within air main ducting between the filter and gas turbine. Transition duct is a huge mounted assembly consisting of welded parts. NX 5 application was chosen as system environment of the thesis. Master model is a root for both design model and computing model. Weight and material optimization is a desired result which will serve as basis for designing. It is not the goal of this thesis to create one perfect computation model BUT to create a methodic, which would be manageable by any designer equipped by basic knowledge of engineering.
