Costs of Running a Car Administration Android Application
Dorazil, Jan ; Široký, Vít (referee) ; Kubíček, Radek (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with mobile Android platform. The application for administration of costs of running a car was created within this thesis. It describes design and implementation of the application and analyses calculation of car's consumption and carbon dioxide emissions. The application uses SQLite database, asynchronous tasks and modern user interface components.
Reduction of CO2 emissions in the production of blended Portland cements.
Dočkal, Jakub ; Fridrichová, Marcela (referee) ; Dvořák, Karel (advisor)
This thesis is dedicated to reducing CO2 emissions of blended portland cement. It explorer the posibility of using recycled glass as hydraulically active substance dependence uses intensifier of grinding on progress and how specific surface grinding. The resulting admixture is examined from the chemical, mineralogical and technological perspective.
Possibility to reduce CO2 emissions in the production of Portland cements.
Dobrovolný, Petr ; Fridrichová, Marcela (referee) ; Dvořák, Karel (advisor)
This thesis is dedicated to reducing CO2 emissions in the production of portland cement with admixtures II. species. It explores the possibility of using recycled glass as hydraulically active substance dependence pucolanity on progress and how specific surface grinding. The resulting admixture is examined from the chemical, mineralogical and technological perspective.
Study of behavior of thermal insulation materials on natural base
Kostlánová, Jana ; Balíková, Jitka (referee) ; Zach, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of the thesis is focused on a research of behavior of thermal and acoustic insulating materials on natural base with major importance on fibrous insulating materials. Vital part of the thesis is aimed on monitoring of environmental aspects interrelated with retrieving of raw materials and insulating materials manufacturing. Other types of fibrous insulating materials employed in a civil engineering are presented in the text. The main objective of the thesis is an evaluation of an influence of input fibers quality to the final attributes of insulating materials. The fundamental element of material quality evaluation represents physical and mechanical attributes of examined subjects.
Comparison of the effectivity and the ecological benefits of photovoltaic power stations in different areas of the Czech Republic
SLUKA, Petr
The study is focusing on comparison of efficiency and ecological impacts of photovoltaic power stations depending on their locations in the Czech Republic. The report gives us an overview of photovoltaic power stations efficiency and also their environmental value by minimising CO2 emissions due to replacing conventional energy technologies. The research is based on data taken from energy audits of photovoltaic power stations in Vidov (South Bohemia), in Hodonice (South Moravia) and Lahošť (North Bohemia). The measured data of efficiency and CO2 savings are compared to forecast data from numerical weather prediction models PVSYST, PVGIS and Meteonorm. The project revealed, that photovoltaic power stations efficiency directly depends on their geographic location. Decisive factor was sunlight. Paired comparison showed, that there is a difference between photovoltaic power stations in Lahošť, Hodonice (P < 0,01) and Vidov (P < 0,05). The difference between real and expected datas from each photovoltaic systems was conclusive (p < 0,01). Significant was also factor of month (p < 0,001).
Are environmentally friendly cars really that environmentally friendly?
Jiroutková, Tereza ; Bartoň, Petr (advisor) ; Rotschedl, Jiří (referee)
This thesis deals with CO2 emissions that rise from manufacturing of new VW Golf. The basis is official study issued by Volkswagen car factory which is concerned with manufacturing emissions of 4 types of VW Golf. In this paper they leave out emissions that origin from transportatiton of components and materials from other parts of world or other parts of Europe. The purpose of thesis is to count CO2 emissions generated by operation of cargo ships and trucks that are transporting components to the Wolfsburg car factory in Germany for final assembly and determine, if the omitting of those emisssions from official study from this car factory is or is not a serious distortion. Using data on road and sea distances are there counted 3 model examples of importing from several VW car factories spread over several continents and CO2 emissions caused by this transportation of components. Through calculations and comparing the results of CO2 emissions from transportation with emissions produced during car manufacturing in Wolfsburg was not shown that the emissions were crucial. And therefore based on my calculations was not shown that the offical emission data were distorted.
Scrapping bonus and his paradoxes
Zíka, Michal ; Šíma, Josef (advisor) ; Hadrabová, Alena (referee)
The thesis focuses on the meanings and paradoxes of scrapping bonus in automobile industry. The automobile market includes very wide legislative which has a restrictive effect on production cars but the scrappage has inverse consequences. Scrappaing bonus as a state interventions and their impacts on the market price, the market equilibrium and the wealth of people is another aim of this dissertation. This is conected with the Kuznets Curve which descibes the relationship between the quality of the environment and the welth of the people. The main point of the thesis is the analysis of the positive and negative arguments for the implementation of the scrappage. The implementation is related with the calculation of the CO2 emissions of the new cars and the CO2 emissions of the old cars. The results of the calculation should be confirm or refute the posibility, that the scrapping bonus is improving to improve the environment. The thesis contains the facts about the average age fo the car fleet because the scrapagge is often joined with the turnover on road safety.
The second generation of biofuels in the real world
Skalický, Michal ; Dvořák, Antonín (advisor) ; Hadrabová, Alena (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the problematics of biofuels as a renewable source of energy in transportation, which has recently gotten under social spotlight. The theoretical part is focused on an explanation of basic terminology, historical development and especially reasons for the need to replace current fosil fuels with respect to an increasing volume of CO2 and shortening oil reserves. The practical part compares characteristics, use, pros and cons of the biofuels of the first and second generation and tries to estimate benefits of the biofuels of the second generation in both economic and environmental area.
EU energy policy and fighting the climate change
Kováč, Štefan ; Bič, Josef (advisor) ; Vondrušková, Barbora (referee)
In my bachelor thesis I am focusing on EU energy policy in the realm of cutting CO2 emissions. The solution of stopping the climate change lies in consecutive introduiction and implementation of more ecological technologies. EU energy policy is affected by the goal of stoppint the climate change. I describe the measures which were already approved and goals to the future. I consider renewable energy sources as a good step towards the cutting of emissions greenhouse gases and towards greater EU's energy independance of imports of energy sources. The last chapter is focused on European Union Emissions Trade System which was established in order to motivate companies to cut CO2 emissions.
Economic impacts of the implementation of the Kyoto protocol
Pončíková, Martina ; Svobodová, Ivana (advisor) ; Jílková, Jiřina (referee)
This bachelor's thesis focuses on the evaluation of the emission trading system with greenhouse gases. The protection of the atmosphere is currently one of the world problems and in terms of that many legal regulations and international conventions were made to support this goal. The trading system is one of the accomplishments made in order to full fill these efforts. This thesis is aimed to comment and evaluate the entire utility of the system, its efectivity. The whole problem has been analysed from the view of the ČEZ, a. s. company.
