Vardanová, Magda ; Maaytová, Alena (advisor) ; Gajdošová, Eva (referee)
The diploma thesis Funding of selected social services for seniors deals with the system of funding of the social services for the elderly - retirement homes and homes with a special regime in the Czech Republic. It is focused on the analysis of costs and earnings for these services and possible measurement of efficiency during providing of services. For the area in the nonprofit sector there are specific features of financing, which enables providing of social services. Attention is also paid to proposals for changes in the current system of financing. Sources of data analysis are internal data of regions of Ostrava and Zlin, internal data providers gathered for benchmarking and report on the performance of individual service providers.

The Economic Efficiency of House Arrest
Michailidis, Simon ; Babin, Jan (advisor) ; Rod, Aleš (referee)
The main purpose of this bachelor thesis is to determine whether house arrest is more economically efficient than imprisonment. House arrest was first evaluated in terms of the impact on public budgets, followed by an assessment of its overall economic efficiency. For the purposes of the analysis, the cost function of the Prison Service was estimated using the high-low method. This function made it possible to determine potential savings in the Prison Service by replacing one imprisonment with house arrest. The costs of house arrest using electronic monitoring and random checks were then calculated. The costs and potential savings are similar in amount, although significant savings in public funds by replacing imprisonment with house arrest was not demonstrated. For evaluating the overall economic efficiency, both the previous cost analyses and the conclusions of the modern economics of crime were used. In this context, house arrest is clearly more cost-efficient than imprisonment. This fact has been confirmed by the frequent use of house arrest abroad.

Processing and Properties of 1D and 2D Boron Nitride Nanomaterials Reinforced Glass Composites
Saggar, Richa ; Cihlář, Jaroslav (referee) ; Tatarko, Peter (referee) ; Dlouhý, Ivo (advisor)
Glasses and ceramics offer several unique characteristics over polymers or metals. However, they suffer from a shortcoming due to their brittle nature, falling short in terms of fracture toughness and mechanical strength. The aim of this work is to reinforce borosilicate glass matrix with reinforcements to increase the fracture toughness and strength of the glass. Boron nitride nanomaterials, i.e. nanotubes and nanosheets have been used as possible reinforcements for the borosilicate glass matrix. The tasks of the thesis are many fold which include: 1. Reinforcement of commercially derived and morphologically different (bamboo like and cylinder like) boron nitride nanotubes in borosilicate glass with the concentration of 0 wt%, 2.5 wt% and 5 wt% by ball milling process. Same process was repeated with reinforcing cleaned boron nitride nanotubes (after acid purification) into the borosilicate glass with similar concentrations. 2. Production of boron nitride nanosheets using liquid exfoliation technique to produce high quality and high aspect ratio nanosheets. These boron nitride nanosheets were reinforced in the borosilicate glass matrix with concentrations of 0 wt%, 2.5 wt% and 5 wt% by ball milling process. The samples were consolidated using spark plasma sintering. These composites were studied in details in terms of material analysis like thermo-gravimetric analysis, detailed scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy for the quality of reinforcements etc.; microstructure analysis which include the detailed study of the composite powder samples, the densities of bulk composite samples etc; mechanical properties which include fracture toughness, flexural strength, micro-hardness, Young’s modulus etc. and; tribological properties like scratch resistance and wear resistance. Cleaning process of boron nitride nanotubes lead to reduction in the Fe content (present in boron nitride nanotubes during their production as a catalyst) by ~54%. This leads to an improvement of ~30% of fracture toughness measured by chevron notch technique for 5 wt% boron nitride nanotubes reinforced borosilicate glass. It also contributed to the improvement of scratch resistance by ~26% for the 5 wt% boron nitride nanotubes reinforced borosilicate glass matrix. On the other hand, boron nitride nanosheets were successfully produced using liquid exfoliation technique with average length was ~0.5 µm and thickness of the nanosheets was between 4-30 layers. It accounted to an improvement of ~45% for both fracture toughness and flexural strength by reinforcing 5 wt% of boron nitride nanosheets. The wear rates reduced by ~3 times while the coefficient of friction was reduced by ~23% for 5 wt% boron nitride nanosheets reinforcements. Resulting improvements in fracture toughness and flexural strength in the composite materials were observed due to high interfacial bonding between the boron nitride nanomaterials and borosilicate glass matrix resulting in efficient load transfer. Several toughening and strengthening mechanisms like crack bridging, crack deflection and significant pull-out were observed in the matrix. It was also observed that the 2D reinforcement served as more promising candidate for reinforcements compared to 1D reinforcements. It was due to several geometrical advantages like high surface area, rougher surface morphology, and better hindrance in two dimensions rather than just one dimension in nanotubes.

Economical impact of human capital Development in the Compan
Janurová, Michaela ; Tichá, Ivana (advisor) ; Pavel, Pavel (referee)
This thesis titled Economic impacts of human resource development is focused on the assessment of particular system, which is used in the context of human resource management to iprove working efficienci. The theoretical part is focused on the specification of human resource management, appearance and development. Generally, reference is made to performance management, motivation and stimulation of employees. I analyzed the methods of remuneration, performance evaluation and employee skills. In the partical part the particular company and applied human resources management system, a system of performance appraisal, employee skills and education. Part of this chapter is focused on a group of executives of the company. The findings are evaluated and designed a more appropriate way of motivating and rewarding. Finally, possibilities are summarized and recommendet for efficient improvments to existing system in society.

Motivation as a tool of performance management
Janáček, Petr ; Kříž, Josef (advisor) ; Hana, Hana (referee)
Motivation as a tool for performance management is the topic of this thesis. At the beginning of the thesis is discussed theoretical part. This section covers the basic idea of motivation and its impact on human resources management and thus staff. On the basis of professional materials studied are set out the main motivational theories that affect the behavior and performance of employees. Following by a survey contained in the practical part. The questionnaire was developed based on motivation theories and their mentioned factors influencing the performance of employees. The questionnaire addressed communication, relationships, motivation and work process. Included are basic elements of the motives and demotivation, covering aspects of employee satisfaction on various factors at work. Survey results should thus serve as a way to improve the incentive system of the organization and provision of the draft resolution. Thus, the proposed solutions should ideally lead to more efficient performance of the work in the organization.

An innovation audit as a tool of improvement of innovation efficiency of organization
Jakúbek, Marek ; Špaček, Miroslav (advisor) ; Kubovský, Josef (referee)
The ability of an organization to innovate, creates one of the most sufficient standards to keep the competitive position and ensure further growth. There exists a well-founded assumption that small and middle sized companies do not pay enough attention to innovation management. The thesis investigates a process called an innovation audit - it is a tool used for evaluation of innovation management and its current state in a company called Memsource a.s. The goal of the thesis is by using innovation audit to identify strengths and weaknesses of all spheres that affect innovations and also suggest efficient improvements in all areas related to innovative management in Memsource a.s. The results of a process of the innovation audit provides us with a whole scheme of a truthful and profound situation concerning innovation management of the company. The suggestions were made in order to enhance innovation efficiency of the company.
