Study of behavior of concrete and cement based composite materials exposed to high temperatures
Bodnárová, L. ; Horák, D. ; Válek, J. ; Hela, R. ; Sitek, Libor
The paper describes possibilities of observation of behaviour of concrete and cement based composite material exposed to high temperatures. Nowadays, for large-scale tests of behaviour of concrete exposed to high temperatures, testing devices of certified fire testing stations in the Czech Republic and surrounding states are used. These tests are quite expensive. For experimental verification of smaller test specimens, a testing device was built at the Technical University in Brno, where tests of thermal loading of concrete tests specimens of various sizes can be carried out (dimensions up to 800 x 800 x 800 mm or slabs up to 1100 mm of length). The testing device opens new ways of observation of behaviour of concrete and cement based composite materials exposed to high temperatures as well as preparation of specimens for observation of interaction of water jet and concrete degraded by action of high temperatures.

KRYGAROVÁ, Radka
This thesis focuses on preventing manipulation of seniors and is divided into two main parts, theoretical and practical. The first part offers theoretical resources, which are needed for new information. These information are contained in four main chapters. Practical part of thesis continues the theoretical knowledges and evolves its intentions. It determines two goals in the introduction. Goal No. 1: To map out attitude seniors towards problems with manipulation. Goal No. 2: The proposal prevention of manipulation of seniors. Besides these goals gives three research questions. Question No. 1: How do seniors perceive concept of manipulation? Question No. 2: What kind of experience seniors have with manipulation? Question No. 3: How do seniors prevent manipulation? For realization of research was choosen qualitative method, technique of semistructured interview. Supplementary questions were used during the anonymous interview. Interviews were recorded on a dictaphone with respondents permission. Interview is available in supplement (see Supplement No. 2) and has 15 questions, which are divided into three parts (personal life, manipulation, prevention). Snowball sampling method was suitable at contact with seniors. New contacts were obtained from previous respondents. The research sample was formed by six respondents, which are different their type of housing. The research results are presented in the form of case reports, created on the basis of the interviews. Overall summary, comparison of the results and the expression of opinions can be found in the discussion. The conclusion of the thesis is created from this knowledge and briefly presents the main results and suggestions. Three hypotheses are based on research questions. H1: Seniors perceive manipulation like pressure. H2: Each senior has at least one personal experience with manipulation. H3: Seniors avoid the risk situations related with manipulation. Seniors are informed of the media, but they would like to learn more in another form. Active seniors would suit the lecture with questions and practical exercises model situations. Less active seniors would appreciate information in written form, with concrete examples and stories. A common feature in the transmission of knowledge and information is clarity, concreteness and simplicity, before too general, theoretic and expertise. My thesis offers actual view on attitude of seniors towards manipulation. The research can be used like source for realization of concrete prevention measures. This thesis can be understood like emphasis to more attention and activity in this field too.

High performance computing in micromechanics
Blaheta, Radim ; Hrtus, Rostislav ; Jakl, Ondřej ; Starý, Jiří
By micromechanics we understand analysis of the macroscale response of materials through investigation of processes in their microstructure. Here by the macroscale, we mean the scale of applications, where we solve engineering problems involving materials like different metals and composites in aircraft design or rocks and concrete in a dam construction. Different applications are characterized by different characteristic size. At macroscale the materials mostly look as homogeneous or they are idealized as homogeneous or piecewise homogeneous. A substantial heterogeneity is hidden and appears only after more detailed zooming view into the material.
