Development and interrelationships of economic indicators
Klimentová, Veronika ; Löster, Tomáš (advisor) ; Bílková, Diana (referee)
The present bachelor thesis focuses on development and interrelationships of selected economic indicators in the European Union -- gross domestic product, inflation rate, the amount of government debt and unemployment rate. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the definition and description of the selected indicators and the statistical methods that were used for analysis of these indicators. The main part is then focused on examining the link between the values of individual indicators and the gross domestic product by analysis of variance. It also deals with the analysis of development of the indicators. During the reporting period, it was especially in 2004 that the economic indicators were affected the most. In that year the European Union witnessed by far the biggest enlargement, which meant among other things opening the labour market. In some of the member states it lead to a significant decline in unemployment. It is also possible for virtually all the indicators to monitor the impact of the economic crisis. In most states, for example, there was an increase in unemployment rate or a reduction in gross domestic product.
Impacts of the crisis in the EU according to the fulfilment of the Maastricht criteria
Koutňák, Michal ; Hnát, Pavel (advisor) ; Vrňáková, Irena (referee)
This bachelor thesis analyses if the process of the fulfilment of the Maastricht criteria between the years 1997 and 2007 affected the course of the global financial crisis from 2008 to 2011 in the European Union countries. States are divided into four logical groups -- the original members of the euro zone, enlargement of the euro zone, countries with a permanent exception of joining the euro zone and the other European Union countries. The first part analyses how and which countries had been meeting the Maastricht criteria till the beginning of the global financial crisis. The second part describes how fulfilling the Maastricht criteria have changed when the crisis started and how the unemployment and the growth of real GDP have changed. The objective of my assignment is to determine whether exists a relation between meeting the Maastricht criteria before the crisis and the impacts of the crisis of stated countries. The conclusion summarizes how certain groups of countries differ from each other according to the fulfilling the Maastricht criteria and how the economies have reacted to the crisis.

Gergelyová, Jana ; Mandel, Martin (advisor) ; Zbyněk, Štork (referee)
This thesis is an analysis of inflation in the Czech Republic and the success of the Czech monetary policy compared with inflation targeting in the Visegrad countries. In the first part, I focused on the development of central banking and the role of central banks, the main actors of monetary policy, in relation to inflation. A common feature of the Visegrad Four is a monetary policy based on inflation targeting. The prediction of inflation compared with its actual development in a period of ten years is subject to the practical part, which is supple-mented by a wide range of graphs and tables that I have mainly compiled from data available on the websites of central banks of individual countries and Eurostat, the European Union statistical office.

Hradilová, Petra ; Szobi, Pavel (advisor) ; Tajovský, Ladislav (referee)
My bachelor thesis evaluates the split of the Czech and Slovak Federative Republic, from an economic point of view and is divided into three parts. The first part describes the function of the Czech-Slovak Federation in normalization years 1969 - 1989 and its subsequent disintegration. Bachelor thesis is focused not only on economic and economical development but also on social and political development, because exactly that one was in mentioned years an important determinant of economic development. The main part will analyze the development of Czech-Slovak Federation in 1990 - 1992. I evaluate mainly the complexity of mostly federal coexistence in a pluralistic democracy. I focus on the preparation and introduction of economic reforms, the voucher privatization and its acceptance by each of the different republics. I analyze the different impact of economic reforms on economic development and the main macroeconomic indicators in each of the republics. The last part follows the collapse of the federation and the subsequent necessary changes, such as the question of determining citizenship, issues of property division and the establishment and development of customs and monetary union. I also analyze the nature of cohabitation in Czechoslovakia in 1992. The aim of this work is to point out that the economic disparities between those two republics were not given by economic reform, and to show that these differences had an affect on the division of Czechoslovakia.

Hladík, Ondřej ; Mirvald, Michal (advisor) ; Chytil, Zdeněk (referee)
This bachelor project deal with practical usage of Phillip`s curve. In theoretical part of my project I will focus on description and development of this economic model. Empirical part will investigate relation between inflation rate and rate of unemployment in choice EU countries and in the Czech Republic during years 1998 -- 2009. I will compare results and try to answer on the question, if it is possible to use Samuelson`s a Solow`s version of Phillip`s curve in current economies. At created graphs I will examine possible similarity with this concept in single periods and I`ll mention similarity with other concepts, too. Final part of bachelor project will be creation of econometric model, which I`ll compare with modified version of Phillip`s curve (Samuelson, Solow) and find out, whether exist interdependence between inflation rate and rate of unemployment, eventually I`ll try to explain model by integration of the other quantity (e.g. adaptive expectation).

Ptáčníková, Veronika ; Abrhám, Josef (advisor) ; Jeníček, Vladimír (referee)
The goal of my thesis "Development of economies of the Czech and Slovak Republic in the last twenty years" is not only to assess and compare the economic development of Czech and Slovak Republic in the last twenty years, but also outline the economy of Czechoslovakia as a whole to have an idea of the citations and the context of the time. I only compared the development in the two economies, then also in relation to the EU. I divided the whole work into three chapters according to the various stages of development in the Czech and Slovak economies. In the first chapter, I proceed from a brief description of Czechoslovakia, ie. its creation and subsequent development up to 1989, through the transformation of the economy, focusing on the initial state of the economy, the basic operations carried out and macroeconomic page of the transition itself, to the split of Czechoslovakia into two independent states. The following chapter focuses on the characteristics of a separate economic development of the Czech and Slovak Republic until 2004, when both countries joined the EU. The final chapter then deals with the European Union, the Maastricht criteria before joining the EU and development of the economies after the entry into the Union with regard to the entry of Slovakia into the eurozone.
Fiscal effects of changes in social insurance
Skrbková, Lucie ; Klazar, Stanislav (advisor) ; Klazar, Stanislav (referee)
I have chosen the theme of social insurance for my bachelor final essay because it is a highly debated topic, and interests me because decisions and changes made in regards to social insurance impact everyone from employees, to entrepreneurs, to employers, to the state for which social insurance is paid on people's behalf, and to people without taxable income. The primary goal of this final essay is to analyze changes in revenues from social insurance, assuming variable factors which cause social insurance revenues to increase or decrease, The variable factors I will focus on include minimum wage, average wage, rate of inflation, and insurance rates. I will also mention and touch upon other factors which could influence the amount of social insurance revenues, such as demographic factors and base limits imposed for individuals. I will outline and analyze which current changes in social insurance are valid for 2009. I will search out revenues from social insurance of common budgets during the period from 1999 to 2008 and then according to this output data, I will answer the question as to why these changes were made. Finally, I will try to find the best statistics model which would sufficiently describe relationships between insurance revenues (as dependent variable) with minimum wage and average wage (as explanatory variables).
