Klán, Martin ; Voňková, Hana (advisor) ; Duschinská, Karolina (referee)
TITLE: Use of information and communication technologies in English language teaching AUTHOR: Bc. Martin Klán DEPARTMENT: Department of School & Social Education SUPERVISOR: PhDr. RNDr. Hana Voňková, PhD., PhD. ABSTRACT: Both foreign and Czech literature point out that information and communication technologies are becoming more and more integral part of education. This presented diploma thesis provides basic outline of information and communication technologies and possibilities of their use with respect to English language teaching. This thesis tries to outline effective use of ICT in English language teaching and focuses mainly on electronic communication, the Internet calling and features of blogging. The aim of the thesis is to find out pupils'attitudes towards English language teaching at Secondary Vocational School in Hořovice, their previous experience with electronic communication, their preferred and dispreferred activities during English language teaching and finally their opinion on using the Internet calling and e-mail by means of a questionnaire and data analysis. Possibility of using electronic communication and calling via the Internet in English language teaching is realized as a project.
Digital Generation. Involvement of Information and Communication Technology in Educational Process
Vaňurová, Tereza ; Šafr, Jiří (advisor) ; Černý, Karel (referee)
Diploma thesis called "Digital Generation. Involvement of Information and Communication Technology in Educational Process" is focused on the role of computers in a life of adolescents. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is evolving very fast and transform our everyday life. The aims of the thesis are (1) to explore the change of "digital generation" in Czech society in the beginning of 21 century, (2) to find out if there is a correlation between playing computer games and school results and (3) to identify which factors influence computer literacy. In order to achieve those aims, the comparative secondary analysis of international researches of pupils PISA 2003, 2012 and research focused on computer and information literacy - ICILS 2013were used. The results suggest that between 2003 and 2013 digital possession and using of ICT by fifteen year old pupils increased, so digital generation Y and Z were identified in Czech society. Playing of computer games remains domain of boys. Computer and information literacy increases with experience with computers, self- esteem of basic computer skills and with a higher society status of parents. Better results in the test also achieve girls and pupils of grammar school. Keywords Generation, Information and Communication Technology, Education,...
Comparison of effectiveness of teaching using computers vs. 3D models
Andělová, Denisa ; Janštová, Vanda (advisor) ; Jáč, Martin (referee)
Currently, pupils' interest in science continues to decline, although this area of education is very important in every day life (medicine, environment, etc.) and there is high demand for science professions on the labor market. Molecular biology curriculum concerning DNA and the transfer of genetic information is abstract and difficult topic for pupils to imagine, and for teachers to explain. There are many ways to teach this topic. Very popular are iquiry and laboratory practise. But not all schools have their own laboratories, and can teach molecular practical effectivelly. Inquiry based teaching is time consuming to prepare, and not every topic is appropriate to be taught this way. Another possibilities how to visualize "invisible" molecules and processes are computer software and animations or 3D physical model. In my thesis, I examined the effect of using computers and animations to teach abou DNA compared to using a 3D physical model on students' knowledge. I laso tested the possible influence of gender and pupils' preferences on their achieved score on knowledge tests. The research was performed in five classes at three high schools in Prague. Students in year 12 were on different types of high school and some of them took special biology class, their age was between 15 and 18 years. The...
Possibilities and limits of the use of ICT in teaching at the elementary school
Kudrnová, Lenka ; Mazáčová, Nataša (advisor) ; Váňová, Miroslava (referee)
This diploma thesis is focused on information and communication technologies, which became nowadays a part of our live at schools . The aim of this thesis is to introduce the term ICT, introduce its history, describe individual kind of ICT, didactical function and in the end shows the negative and positive sides of ICT. The practical part looks at the difference in using information and communication technologies among teachers at primary schools in region such as Prague and Královéhradecký. The last part is focused only on Prague teachers, their using ICT at schools during teaching, their opinions and experience with ICT.
Issue of the use of modern technologies in managing the current kindergarten
Nováková, Zdenka ; Svoboda, Petr (advisor) ; Trojan, Václav (referee)
The thesis is concerned with the use of computers and ICT technology in nursery schools in the Czech Republic, those in particular where children have the opportunity to work with Kid Smart computers. The assignment should chart and analyze the information and communication literacy of school directors, to document available ICT technologies suitable for nursery schools, and define potential barriers that prevent their wider usage and to propose measures to directors that would lead to a gradual overcoming of these issues. A comparison with the situation abroad includes schools in Iceland and Portugal. A portion of this thesis deals with research regarding this topic and its subsequent evaluation. The assignment should provide directors with a well arranged description of available ICT for nursery schools and should familiarize them with the appropriate software for managing administration.
Applications of finite element method and simulation based reliability assessment - SBRA method for solutions of the hard rock disintengration process
Frydrýšek, K. ; Marek, Pavel
This paper focuses on a numerical analysis of the hard rock (ore) disintegration process. The bit moves into the ore (i.e. mechanical contact with friction) and subsequently disintegrates it. The disintegration (i.e. stress-strain relationship, reaction forces and fracture of the ore etc.) is solved via the FEM in combination with SBRA Method. The ore is disintegrated by deactivating the finite elements which satisfy the fracture condition. Material of the ore is given by bounded histograms. The results are compared with experiments. Application of the SBRA method in this area is a new and innovative trend.
Future of reliability assessment of steel structures
Marek, Pavel ; Guštar, M. ; Lokaj, A.
The rapid development of computer technology makes it possible to anticipate significant improvements in the reliability assessment of steel structures, During the last two decades through the development of the SBRA method, a significant adjustment of the assessment of structural safety, serviceability and durability is now feasible. The probabilistic approach introduces next representation of loads and all other variables affecting the reliability, while the interaction of all variables can be considered using the first as well as second order theory analysis.
Problematics of misusing company computers by employees
Kuk, Petr ; Hejda, Jan (advisor) ; Hrabětová, Dana (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with problems of misusing of company computers by employees. Specifically describes the factors affecting computers misuse, various forms of its misuse and protections against its misuse, the impact on employers and related regulations. The thesis also outlines possible ways how to control employees and penalties for computer misuse. Thesis tries to provide some recommendations for regulation of using of company computers and also an estimation of future development.
