The content of components of ATP synthasome in different rat tissues and in patients with defects in ATP synthase
Mikulová, Tereza ; Houštěk, Josef (advisor) ; Kalous, Martin (referee)
The complexes of oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) are situated in the inner mitochondrial membrane in higher structural and functional complexes, so-called supercomplexes, which facilitates substrate channeling. ATP synthase is also able to organize in higher structures. In mammalian mitochondria, ATP synthase is usually present in a dimeric form. There is evidence of its trimerization and even tetramerization. Furthermore, it seems that ATP synthase catalyzing the phosphorylation of ADP to ATP, adenine nucleotide translocator (ANT) ensuring the exchange of ADP for newly synthesized ATP across the inner mitochondrial membrane and phosphate carrier (PiC) allowing the import of inorganic phosphate (Pi) into the matrix of mitochondria are assembled in a supercomplex called ATP synthasome. This association among the components of phosphorylative apparatus seems to increase the efficiency of processes leading to the ATP synthesis. First, we studied amounts of the components of phosphorylative apparatus in connection with various ATP synthase contents among mitochondria isolated from nine rat tissues. Mitochondrial proteins were separated by denaturing electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) and their content was analyzed using specific antibodies. In agreement with our expectations, the highest content of...

Assessment of the financial situation of a particular enterprise
ZINKEOVÁ, Šárka
This Bachelor thesis is focused on the financial analysis of a particular company, during the period from 2007 to 2011. The company is compared to other companies, which are from the same industry. The theoretical part of this Bachelor thesis contains a definition of the financial analysis, sources of data, participants and methods of this analysis. Furthermore I drew up the methodology which outlines a way of calculating indicators, which are used in the practical part. In practical part I analyzed the limited company, which is called SG strojírna. Then I compared this company to three other companies. The practical part has three sections. The first section includes indicators of ratio analysis such as liquidity, profitability, indebtedness and activity. In the second section I map the development of the company based on Du Pont analysis. The third section is concerned with bankruptcy models. The conclusion of this thesis contains an evaluation of the company´s financial situation and measures proposed for greater profitability and efficiency.

Parliamentary Elections and the Stock Markets: Evidence from CEE countries
Bláhovec, Tomáš ; Štiková, Radka (advisor) ; Turnovec, František (referee)
The thesis deals with electoral and partisan cycles in stock returns of nine CEE countries and checks consistency of observed cycles with efficient market hypothesis. The evidence mostly supports possibility of political influence on stock markets, but the effects often have opposite sign than hypothesized. Electoral cycle has been found in Estonia and Hungary, while returns in four other countries are significantly lower before elections. Markets more often exhibit left-wing premium, it is significant in the Czech Republic, Lithuania and Romania. The results are similar between nominal and real returns. Both cycles are also considered significant for the panel of countries. Moreover, cycles are hardly explainable by macroeconomic conditions, which indicates market inefficiency. This is confirmed by analysis of volatility, which reveals that risk does not correspond to changes in returns induced by the cycles.

Argumentation in publicizing of selected debates of talk shows Otázky Václava Moravce (Václav Moravec's questions) and Máte slovo s M. Jílkovou (Have a word with M. Jílková) and eristic dialectics
Remešová, Lucie ; Šoltys, Otakar (advisor) ; Podzimek, Jan (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the argumentation of guests of selected debates of the talk shows Otázky Václava Moravce and Máte slovo s M. Jílkovou publicizing. The format of these talk shows assigns these debates the confrontational nature, which leads their participants excluding the presenters to the argumentation duels. The subject of the research is a detailed analysis of the argumentation used by guests of the selected debates of the respective talk shows, including finding an answer to the question of what role the presenters play in it. The analysis put a particular emphasis on eristic dialectics, the concept created by Arthur Schopenhauer, which is understood to be a science of human intransigence. The concepts of Rhetological Fallacies of Jiří Kraus or David McCandless are taken into consideration in the second place as well. Linguistic and suprasegmental means as well as nonverbal level of the communication are being examined too. The aim of this analysis is, on the one hand, to describe the axiology and the associated efficiency of argumentation of the main guests at selected debates of Otázky Václava Moravce and Máte slovo s M. Jílkovou and on the other hand, to verify the usability of eristic dialectics to deconstruct myths, manipulations and distortions of facts in these debates....

Economic Consequences of Mandatory Energy Performance Certificate Processing for Public Sector
Tintěra, Tomáš ; Loužek, Marek (advisor) ; Maule, Petr (referee)
Bachelor thesis deals with the impact assessment of introduction of the requirement for processing energy performance certificate (PENB) for buildings in possession of public sector. It inspects in detail Czech as well as European legislative connected with energy efficiency, and it examines the differences in approaches to its implementation between EU member states, and its consequences. Moreover, thesis inspects the impact assessment process of EU legislation. Main part of thesis consists of an evaluation of approach of Czech public sector to fulfilling given obligations. From inspection of sample of municipalities, it shows that the targets set by legislative are not being met. At last, thesis analyzes data on public contracts which indicate that there is no such methodology which would inform the state itself about the real energy performance certification impacts on national economy.

The effect of bailiff territoriality on the reclamation of receivables, the length of debt recovery and other aspects of court-ordered distraints
Plaček, Jan ; Smrčka, Luboš (advisor) ; Belás, Jaroslav (referee) ; Hučka, Miroslav (referee)
The area of individual reclamation of receivables in the form of court-ordered distraints has undergone significant changes since the year 2000. The initial practice, when the claims used to be enforced directly by judicial officers, proved to be largely ineffective and with difficult to apply. The Ministry of Justice has responded by adopting an amendment to the Act (Act no. 120/2001 Coll., on bailiffs and executor activities), which introduced the independent bailiff offices. Then, the law itself understood the bailiff authorities as a separate entrepreneurs. Currently, in the Czech Republic, there can be seen the distribution of the market with distraints according to the Pareto rule. Approximately 20% of bailiff offices manage over 80% of distraints. It is obvious that this is an unsatisfactory condition for the majority of bailiff offices. In response to this fact, the Czech Chamber of Bailiff offices calls for the introduction of territoriality, which would eliminate by law the market environment from the market with distraints and every single bailiff office would have a stable allocation of distraint proceedings. The analysis carried out clearly shows that there are significant differences between bailiff offices in terms of speed and in success of the debt recovery. The actual demand for the introduction of territoriality would not merely be a reallocation of the market with distraints. Putting it into a practice would greatly influence the transactional costs of business and non-business entities in the Czech economy. The thesis comprehensively describes the issue of territoriality and quantifies how much the debt collection will decrease in case of its introduction. In the conclusion, an alternative draft is formulated, which might, according to the author, allow effective regulation and supervision of the activities of bailiffs' offices without compromising the inherent efficiency of the reclamation of receivables in terms of market environment.

Cost-effectiveness of vaccination against the bacteria Neisseria meningitidis B in children aged 0-4 years
Kříž, David ; Pažitný, Peter (advisor) ; Kandilaki, Daniela (referee)
After many years of research have been developed, and then in January 2013 approved by the European Medicines Agency new multicomponent vaccine against meningococcal disease Group B Bexsero from Novartis. Meningococcal disease, because of its rapid progression and tragic consequences, a very dangerous disease. The aim of my thesis was to try to quantify the impact on the costs and benefits of the introduction of vaccination for the most vulnerable groups, namely children after birth to 4 years of age, by comparing the hypothetical vaccinated and unvaccinated cohorts. The work itself has not demonstrated at today's prices and epidemiological data Bexsero vaccines, cost efficiency. However, at a reduced cost or increased incidence of cases appear to vaccination Bexsero as well utilized resources.
