Title: Case study of the Physiotherapeutic Treatment of a Patient Diagnosed with Nervus Peroneus Paresis Aims: Acquisiting theoretical and practical knowledge of peripehral paresis, especially the peripheral paresis of nervus petroneus, followed-up by elaborating a casuistry of a patient diagnosed with a selected diagnosis created over the duration of practical training. Methodology: The general part of this bachelor thesis contains theoretical findings about anatomy of the peripheral nervous system, peripheral paresis clinical image, treatment and follow-up therapy. The special part contains a description of selected physioterapeutic methods in practice. Results: Reduction of a degree of shortening of selected muscles, elimination of reflexive mutations of soft tissues, renewal of joint play and strength enhancement of selected weakened muscles. Conclusion: Physiotheraphy is an integral part of peripheral paresis treatment. Key words: physiotherapy, neurology, paresis, peroneus, rehabilitation
Determination of selenium and manganese in cerebrospinal fluid by atomic absorption spectrometry
Jiráková, Lucie ; Kotaška, Karel (advisor) ; Klapková, Eva (referee)
The aim of this study was to confirm the use of electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry for the determination of selenium and manganese in the cerebrospinal fluid and to investigate concentrations of selenium and manganese in selected group of patients. For selenium was determined the detection limit 2,9 μg/l, for manganese 0,26 μg/l. 73 patients were examined (31 women, 42 men) whose average age was 14,1 years. The patients were divided into two groups according to age (56 children, 17 adults) and into two subgroups according to diagnoses (oncological, neurological). The control group consists of 18 subjects (5 women, 13 men, average age 21,7 years) with non-oncological and non-neurological diagnoses. We found significantly increased selenium concentrations in cerebrospinal fluid in the control group, compared with the group with neurological diagnoses (median = 14,4 μg/l vs. 12,4 μg/l, p < 0.05). Elevated levels of manganese in cerebrospinal fluid was observed in a group of children with oncological diseases compared with control group (1,2 μg/l vs. 0,5 μg/l, p < 0.05). Determination of selenium and manganese in the cerebrospinal fluid may have diagnostic importance in selected groups of patients. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Rehabilitation Treatment of Patient with Stroke
BŘEZOVSKÁ, Lucie
This bachelor thesis is on the topic of rehabilitative nursing of stroke patients. It is analysing how the issue is dealt with in the rehabilitation department and Department of Neurology. The bachelor thesis is divided into two separate chapters, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part focuses on the causes, symptoms, diagnosis and Treatment of patients after a stroke and the current state of rehabilitative care. One of the parts of rehabilitative care is the collaboration of the nurse and the multidisciplinary team. Furthermore, the thesis describes the possible complications that may occur from the stroke. These complications include mainly pressure sores and immobilization syndrome. Rehabilitative treatment of patients with strokes include positioning, communication, passive movements, active movements, verticalization, breathing exercises. Other methods used in rehabilition nursing, application of heat and cold and basal stimulation. The thesis also includes chapters dealing with nursing management, medical documentation and evaluating the scale of a patient after a stroke. For the practical part there was a set goal, determine the working conditions for nurses who provide the patients rehabilitative treatment after a stroke. There were four main hypotheses defined, which were the subject of an anonymus questionnaire: Hypothesis - H1: There are only positioning aids available for nurses to provide rehabilitative treatment. Hypothesis - H2: Nurses are documenting the rehabilitative treatment regularly used in the nursing process. Hypothesis - H3: Nurses state that the problem of providing rehabilitative care is the lack of time. Hypothesis-H4: Results of rehabilitative nursing care are monitored by the nursing management. As additional research investigation case reports have been formulated with the Barthel index in four patients. Results of the research shows that nurses are using not only positioning aids, but other available tools as well. Rehabilitative care nurses regularly document treatments, especially in nursing documentation. Nurses stated that there is lack of time for providing rehabilitative nursing and nurses state that the treatment is monitored by nursing management.
Role of the Nurse in the Electromyography examination
PELEŠKOVÁ, Adéla
The electromyography (EMG) is a technique capable of recording the electrical activity produced by skeletal muscles and examining whether nerves are sufficiently supplied. The electromyography is carried out in some neurological ambulances or EMG laboratories. Together with a practitioner, it is a nurse who has an unsubstitutable role. The epithet ``assisting{\crqq} belongs inseparably to the nurse´s profession. The "integrated" rehabilitation in extrapyramidal diseases
KREMZOVÁ, Adéla
In my bachelor thesis I focus on the issues of the "integrated" rehabilitation in extrapyramidal disease. Due to large spectrum of extrapyramidal diseases and syndromes I mostly focused in my work on the clients afflicted with the Parkinson{\crq}s disease. In the theoretical part I first define the notion of extrapyramidal diseases, further I am describing the issues connected with the Parkinson{\crq}s disease from the health and social point of view. The last chapter of the theoretical part is devoted to the "integrated rehabilitation{\crq}q and the sequence of its individual components. I also mentioned the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health. In the practical part I focused on ascertaining of the scope, means and the resulting effect of the "integrated" rehabilitation from the perspective of the clients afflicted with Parkinson{\crq}s disease. Therefore, it was suitable to use qualitative research. I used the method of questioning and the technique of semi-standardized interview. Further to that the secondary data analysis as well as case studies {--} casuistry were used. The clients for this research were chosen among the patients with the Parkinson{\crq}s disease, who are registered with the Center of extrapyramidal disorders of the General Teaching Hospital in Prague. The aim of my work was to answer the following questions: 1. Whether the clients ever underwent some of the components of the ``integrated{\crq}q rehabilitation described in the theoretical part of this thesis. 2. How were they satisfied with the performance of the rehabilitation. 3. Whether they missed some of the said rehabilitation components. The client{\crq}s answers to the above questions are stated in the explanation. The case studies show that the patients underwent mostly the treatment component of rehabilitation. In the majority of cases, they were satisfied with the way it was performed. Some of them, however, experienced lack of information on the social assistance within the framework of social rehabilitation. The work could help to those people, who are interested in the issues in question, especially in order to get an overview of the sequence of individual components of the "integrated" rehabilitation in the Parkinson{\crq}s disease. It could be further instrumental to the patients and their families and last but not least for study purposes of workers in helping professions.
