Optical Fibers Forming For Optical Sensors

We present development of new methods and techniques of the splicing and shaping optical fibers with focusing to development new sensors. We developed new techniques of splicing for standard Single Mode (SM) and Multimode (MM) optical fibers and optical fibers with different diameters in the wavelength range from 532 to 1550 nm. Together with development these techniques we prepared other techniques to splicing and shaping special optical fibers like as Polarization-Maintaining (PM) or hollow core Photonic Crystal Fiber (PCF) and theirs cross splicing methods with focus to minimize backreflection and attenuation. Splicing special optical fibers, especially PCF fibers with standard telecommunication and other SM fibers, can be done by light adjustment of our developed techniques.

Semestrální práce se zabývá optikou, optickými vlákny a především optickými senzory, se kterými se v ní podrobněji seznámíme. Dále si představíme nový simulační program od firmy VPI photonics. Ukážeme si jeho uživatelské prostření a možnost simulace v něm.

Semestrální práce s názvem Bezdrátový systém pro ovládání dveří popisuje návrh systému ovládání posuvných dveří pomocí bezdrátového ovladače. Tato práce dále seznamuje s použitým procesorem Silicon Laboratories řady C8051F120, nastiňuje způsob řízení pohonu dveří a snímání jejich polohy pomocí optických čidel a dále ukazuje možnost použití protokolu ZigBee pro komunikaci.

Mobile robot sensor system

In this Bachelors thesis is processed the basic theoretical knowledge needed to design sensory system for a small mobile robot and the sensory system itself is designed. Thesis describes the working principle of tactile, optoelectonic and ultrasound sensors, their basic features, advantages and disadvantages. Next there are processed known prospects of sensors electrical schemes for line following and obstacle detection sensors and commercialy available solutions are briefly described. In the second part there is, based on introduced principles, experimental schemes and measurements, the sensory system itself designed, which is capable of advanced detection abilities and microprocessor conducted data processing. The design is focused on power usage optimisation, control software efficiency and extended universality of designed system. Part of the thesis are libraries of functions required for simple control and sensory system application. In the epilogue there are listed and evaluated the testing results and measured parameters of designed system.
