A study of non-compliance phenomenon among patients with diagnosis of diabetes mellitus

This diploma thesis is focused on the study of the phenomenon of the non-compliance, or more specifically on the study of the phenomenon of the non-compliance of patients with diagnosis of diabetes mellitus. The theoretical part contains a discussion of the phenomenon of the non-compliance, of a problematics of the diabetes mellitus and associated complications and comorbidities. The practical part is based on the statistical evaluation of the specifically prepared survey of patients of the private ambulance of diabetology and endocrinology in Trutnov. The results of survey were processed to obtain contingency tables, and then the correlations between individual aspects of compliance or non-compliance were studied using statistical correlation analysis.

99 Legal Regulation of the Commercial Register Summary In my master diploma thesis, I describe legal regulation of the Commercial Register. This legal institution serves for the registration of entrepreneurs (both legal entities and natural persons - entrepreneurs) and is very important for free market economy. For these reasons, it is supposed to be one of the substantial topics in the field of contemporary Commercial Law. I chose this particular theme because I am interested in the Commercial Register and even have little experience with it from my practice of law. The aim of the Commercial Register is to provide information about entrepreneurs registered in the Commercial Register. Every commercial partners maintaining business relations with an entrepreneur, also third persons entering the legal relations with him, the state or anyone else may acquire verified information from the reliable source. In the majority of European countries this function is provided by the Commercial Register or a similar legal institution. However, the Czech Commercial Register was problematic and therefore was very often discussed by legal professionals and also by non-professional public. Integrative Validation

The main focus of this thesis is Nicole Richard's Integrative Validation approach which has been developed specifically for patients suffering from dementia. The aim is, firstly, to give a comprehensive description of this approach which previously in the Czech Republic has been neither applied nor described in detail, and secondly, to look at its theoretical foundations and evaluate its practical implications for patient care. Integrative Validation is described as a non-pharmaceutical holistic approach to patients suffering from dementia with the principal aim of improving the lives of these patients and of dealing with the problematic behaviour of patients suffering from BPSD (Behavioral and psychological Symptoms of Dementia). The approach makes use of the so called interviews in Integrative Validation which are conducted between carers trained in Integrative Validation and patients suffering from dementia. These interviews are based on several basic principles: carers endeavour to understand the experience of patients, to mirror their emotions and, whenever possible, to come up with solutions. The bachelorś thesis deals with problematics of asthma - its etiology, patophysiology, diagnostics, treatment, instructions for patients, shortly the problematics of quality of life is mentioned. The practical part is directed on the quality of life in children with asthma and the confrontation with their parents.

Hand Recognition

The research object of this diploma thesis is hand recognition problematics. The first part of this work is dedicated to palm photograph processing and extraction of characteristic features. Extracted features are used as inputs of investigated classification methods. The second part of this work provides detailed description of explored methods and their modifications, which are the research objects. Diploma thesis includes description and experimental results of minimum distance classifier, Bayes naive classifier and method based on neural networks. The aim of this work is the comparison of the particular methods with respect to classification success and time needed for classifier construction and classification of all available patterns. The main approach is to choose the best method, which solves the problem of hand recognition according to our experimental results.

Poverty in the developing world - selected impacts and solutions

The thesis analyzes the problematic of poverty in the developing world. The first section defines poverty, its measurment and discusses the main impacts on the population of the developing world. It includes the three most important ones, namely hunger, bad health and illiteracy. The second section focuses on the Millennium Development Goals and their current level of fulfillment. Subsequently, it describes some possible policies of alleviating poverty that are conducted by the developed world, such as development aid, condonement of debt of developing countries and their integration into international trade.

Contractures and their prophylaxis

The main aim of this bacheloťs thesis is to describe the problematics of contractures forming with emphasis on the most common contractures on upper limbs. The processes to prevent the contractures are also described. The secondary objective of this work is to raise knowledge of my colleagues working and studiing in the fíeld of occupational therapy. In my work I wanted to describe the problematics of forming contractures, with placing emphasis on most common contractures on upper limbs and on processes preventing the contractures as well. For the correct evaluation of spasticity influence on contractures creation it is necessary to have its description of and also possibilities of its treatment. Main focus is given to botulotoxin therapy, its composition, indication and counter-indication of treatment, pharmaceuticals currently available on the market and its applications. Practical part with picture section describes possibilities of occupational therapy on three subjects on Department of Rehabilitation Medicine in Prague who had suffered brain damage and are currently on botulotoxin treatment. Just firom this small sample the results seem to indicate, that one of the most important factors of treatment is patienťs motivation; knowledge of treatment and family interest. Comparison of contract law institutes - consideration and cause

This master thesis focuses on a comparison of two contract law institutes -- consideration and cause. While the former is an Anglo-American legal concept, the later is of civil law origin. The goals of this comparative study are as follows: 1. to analyze consideration and cause with the emphasis on the problematic aspects; 2. to compare the institutes with regard to their function in contracts formation; 3. to assess their reasonableness and consider alternative solutions which could better comply with the requirements of modern contract law. The structure of the paper corresponds to the above-mentioned aims.

The importance and use of flood maps in the Czech insurance

This master thesis deals with the flood maps and their use in the Czech insurance. The aim is to determine how these maps were created, in which insurance industry they are used, how they are accessing domestic insurers and whether their use is sufficiently effective. The first part deals with the theory of property insurance and the creation of flood maps. The second part deals with the use of flood maps in the current insurance practice. In the third part are outlined possible solutions to the current problematic situation in this area. At the end is a summary of the whole work and individual recommendations.
