Strnad, Radek
The aim of the thesis is to identify factors affecting the formation of inequalities between men and women in labor market of the Czech Republic and to suggest possible solution to these inequalities. Theoretical part of the thesis describes definition of basic terms and it describe models of discrimination in the labor market. In the practical part of the thesis is analyzed effect non-discriminatory factors to the indicator wage inequality Gender Pay Gap in Czech ecomomy, but also at the level of individual professional categories of CZ-ISCO. In the final part are proposed and discussed possible solutions of gender inequalities in the Czech Republic.
Comparison of analysis of speech in dependence on age and gender
Báňa, Josef ; Smékal, Zdeněk (referee) ; Atassi, Hicham (advisor)
This thesis deals with analysis of speech signal in dependence on the gender and the age of the speaker. We tried to investigate through the features to find the best set for the automatic classification of speakers. It also contains a brief discussion about the speech signal and its characteristics. We used a program called Praat for the speech analysis purpose. This program is also described in this work. We mainly focused on the suprasegmental features of speech. Our first step was to make our own speech corpus which should contain speech records from speakers with various age and gender. We made the analysis using Praat and reported it within this thesis. For the automatic classification purpose, twelve features were selected basing on there quality criteria and used with a neural network to classify the speakers to classes with different age and gender. As it was mentioned, a neural network was used as a classifier. We used “Neural Network Toolbox” in the Matlab program to create and train our networks.
Establishing speaker's age and sex
Rendek, Tomáš ; Pfeifer, Václav (referee) ; Atassi, Hicham (advisor)
This work deals with speaker´s age and gender recognition. At the beginning it introduces the practical usage of this application and discusses the solutions available. The theoretical part of the thesis specifies the feature extraction and reduction methods and speech databases used in the experiments. The practical part describes the recognizer implemented in the Emotional tool and in two chapters describes the individual experiments. Regarding speaker´s gender estimation; we focused on the impact of the emotional state and speaker's age on the classification process. The two remain experiments were dedicated for general gender estimation performed by using two different classifiers – GMM and k-NN. These two classifiers were used in age estimation as well. In this case, four Group of age was formed and two different feature sets namely: segmental and suprasegmental were exploited four groups
Neural networks in speaker classification
Svoboda, Libor ; Atassi, Hicham (referee) ; Míča, Ivan (advisor)
The content of this work is focused on the neural network per speaker recognition. The work deals with problems of processing speech signal and there are introduction some types of neural network. The part of work was made database of records from speakers with have various sex and ages. The train and test group was made from the database. For classifier were suggested afterwards. One of them was nominated on base Gaussian mixture model and three of them were nominated on neural. This system was tested and analyzed on the basis of age, gender and both criterions each other at the end. Attention is focused on choice suitable feature in each mission of classification at the same time. At the end of work are introduced results of analysis for individual groups and features. The most suitable features are diagnosed from given mission of classification and the most prosperous classifier.
Employees requiring special needs
KANTOROVÁ, Kamila
The employment of the university graduates appears nowadays as quite problematic. This statement is supported by categorizing of the graduates to the one of the risky groups on the labour market and also by the fact that the number of unemployed graduates has been increasing in the past several years. Another factors which can play a role, are growing number of university graduates, changing expectations from the labour market and the ability of the society to react to these transformations. The goal of this bachelor thesis was to map the situation of the female university graduates, who are in the beginning stage of their professional path. For this reason I chose the company ALFUN a.s., where I did my research. My focus were female university graduates, who are working for this company and have recently started their career. The thesis is divided into the two main parts - theoretical one and practical one. In the theoretical part there is a literature review, which serves for the better understanding of the topic. Also, the most important terminology is explained there. The main chapters of this part are: University graduates, Career, Discrimination, and also the Equal opportunities of men and women, as I have focused on female university graduates in my thesis. From the practical point of view the survey which was done in the frame of my bachelor thesis could serve mainly to the two subjects. First of them could be the group of graduates who participated on the research - answering the questions from the questionnaire can be an impulse for their self-reflexion and evaluation of the sufficiency of their preparation for their job, which they had chosen. The other subject which might profit from the thesis is the selected company, for which the survey results could represent a specific assessment of the state of their functioning from the point of view of their employees. Furthermore, the company should reflect the possibility of integration of the suggested improvements for advancing the situation concerning the graduates.
Gender positive teaching at the second grade of primary school
ŠANDEROVÁ, Eva
This thesis deals with gender aspects of teaching at the second grade of primary school. The impetus for the topic was our Bachelor´s thesis in which we have already dealt with gender problematic but from a different perspective. Now we have decided to focus on education and describe gender load of teaching. The main aim of the thesis is to determine whether the approach of chosen male and female teachers in educating at the second grade of primary schools is gender-correct. A partial aim is to bring the topic of gender problematic as such to the readers who are not familiar with that. The theoretical part begins with defining key terms which must be known to understand gender in general. The following chapter deals with the specific gender manifestation in the school environment such as, pedagogical communication between a male/ a female student and a male/ a female teacher, the problematic of school evaluation, gender (in)correctness of textbooks and we also focus on gender (im)balance of teaching staff. In the practical part using the method of observation we examine male and female teachers of two chosen primary schools; namely the gender sensitivity of their pedagogical approach. In the conclusion of the thesis we make a selection of gender-correct textbooks and teaching materials which can serve as a utility for beginning teachers men and women.
Male-female income inequality in the labour market of Czech Republic
Krejčů, Dominika ; Macáková, Libuše (advisor) ; Korlyakova, Darya (referee)
Equality of all people without regard to their race, religion or sex is one of the basic ideological principles of democratic states in contemporary Europe. Yet it is commonly known fact that men and women are not considered as equal in all spheres of life. This thesis deals with gender discrimination in the labour market of Czech Republic, with an emphasis on male-female income difference. The main aim of this work is to determine and compare the influence of sex, education and profession on the salary amount and male-female income difference. The statistical method of regression analysis (OLS) is used to achieve this task. General terminology, sociological concepts and economic explanatory models concerning gender discrimination are explained in the first part of this thesis, together with the brief history of female position in the Czech (Czechoslovakian) labour market. The second part evaluates the extent of influence of sex, education and profession on the salary amount.
Vývoj mzdových rozdílů mezi muži a ženami v tranzitivních ekonomikách
Brychtová, Lenka
This thesis deals with the changes in gender wage differences in transition economies. The aim is to assess the effect of changes economic system on gender wage differences in seven countries of Central and Eastern Europe, which have undergone a change of economic system at the turn of the 80s and 90s of the 20th century. Four Western European countries are used as a control group. The data used in this thesis are ISSP data, which are part of the International Social Survey Programme. The research is based on calculations of hourly wage rates of men and women in each country. Other parts of the thesis are wage regressions to assess differences in pay between men and women. The analyzes suggest that the change of the economic system in the transition countries don't have a major impact on reducing the wage gap between men and women.
Faktory ovlivňující kvalitu drůbežího masa
Strmiska, Vladislav
The work was focused on internal and external factors affecting the quality of poultry meat. External factors include the type of poultry, breed, age and sex, which affect the yield of valuable meat parts and technological, nutritional and sensory properties of meat. Meat quality is affecting of internal factors, nutrition, housing conditions, pre-slaughter handling and processing. Nutrition affects the contribution of individual components of the meat content and growth rate of poultry. The farming method supports the genetic potential of poultry and also affects on final carcass meat processing. Modes of transport and pre poultry processing may change the chemical composition of meat due to stress, or may cause injury and damage to the carcase. The correct processing is produce carcases without damaging skin, blood clots, broken bones, or microbial contamination.
