K vývoji amerických financí za velké hospodářské krize
Obonyová, Zuzana ; Stellner, František (advisor) ; Tajovský, Ladislav (referee)
Diplomová práce se věnuje popisu a analýze chování institucí finančního sektoru, tj. komerčního a centrálního bankovnictví USA v období Velké hospodářské krize. Věnuje se též problematikám omezení ?branch bankingu?, bankovním panikám a ?uvěrové expanze?. Z časového hlediska je téma diskutovaná do vyhlášení ?bankovních prázdnin? a přijetí zákona The Banking Act z roku 1933.

Prokůpek, Marek ; Riedlbauch, Václav (advisor) ; Machek, Ondřej (referee) ; Wagner, Jaroslav (referee)
The issue of the economics of cultural institutions, their economic impact, and measurement of their performance has been paid systematic attention basically only in the past few years. PhD thesis analyses the methods of performance measurement in public art museums and creates economic models. Aim of my thesis is also to create a model for museum managers to measure the performance. Nowadays it is almost necessary to integrate performance measurement system in organization´s strategy decision making. The museum managers feel the pressure to prove that their organization is performing well by various stakeholders and we perceive the idea that multidimensional performance measures could fill the informational gap concerning performance, quality, and the artistic value of cultural programs. The mixed research method was employed in this research. Qualitative data was obtained from the questionnaire and interviews. Quantitative data was obtained from the questionnaire, annual reports and reports of The National Information and Consulting Centre for Culture (NIPOS). The aim of this study is to propose a comprehensive multidimensional model to assess art museum activities. This model takes into account the scope and character of museum´s mission. This model consists of implementation of Data Envelopment Analysis into Balanced Scorecard.

Health and social risks in children predisposed to metabolic syndrome
SLADKÁ, Alena
Metabolic syndrome was defined for the first time in 1988 by Reaven, who defined it as a hormonal-metabolic syndrome - with symptoms of resistance to insulin , hyperinzulinismus, hypertension and with laboratory-proven higher level of lipoproteid VLDL and lower level of HDL and LDL cholesterol. Obese children have big troubles concerning social relationships. Overweight children are often an object of ridicule, teasing, verbal bullying, physical bullying, cyberbullying and sexual abuse. First goal of this thesis is to find out, whether obesity (mainly of android type) in children and adolescents (aged 10-18) having BMI higher than 28 and waist size for boys over 103 and for girls over 93, overall cholesterol level over 6,5, blood pressure higher than 130/70 are predispositions of manifestation of MS in adulthood and to find out what are the social and health impacts of the obesity in the childhood. Second goal of this thesis is to find out, whether patients with metabolic syndrome (MS) had predispositions for obesity or were obese in the childhood and what are the health and social impacts of MS in their life. The first research group consisted of ten children aged 10-18 with predispositions to manifestation of MS. Methods of accomplishing goals of this thesis: Survey of health and family anamnesis. All ten children aged 10-18 were repeatedly checked during six mounths for their body weight, waist size, blood pressure and cholesterol. Surveyed values are shown in the table. I Used a structured interview to survey relationships of obese ones with same-age children, whether they are an object of ridicule and bullying and what are other troubles caused by the disease. At the same time I gave questionnaires to parents to ascertain the eating habits and life style of the family. Health and social impacts for life of people with diagnosed MS, when they were diagnosed MS and their childhood condition were examined using structured interviews in the metabolic advice centre. The research group consisted of ten patiensts of metabolic advice centre. After analysis of data and health anamnesis it was proven that 60% of researched children suffer from higher morbidity (breathing issues, upper respiratory tract infection, and easier fatigue during physical exertion). 60% of children have serious issues to establish relationships and suffer from verbal and physical bullying. 40% of adult patients of metabolic advice centre had troubles with obesity already in their childhood. All of them suffer from type 1 diabetes. Two of them recieve disability pension due to MS. 90% of them told, that they regulary go see a doctor und regulary take cures. These facts cause worse financial situation (lower income, expenses for cures and travel to a doctor). Two respondents mentioned discriminating behaviour of medical staff, however they didn't mention the type of discrimination. According to the questionaries only one person considers the MS is caused by his lifestyle. Research group consisted all the time of ten children and ten adults with MS, because 'Snowball sampling' research methods didn't survey any new facts, which would be needed to verify.

Transplatantion and ethics - general awareness (preliminary survey)
FARKAŠOVÁ, Markéta
This bachelor's thesis deals with the ethical issues of transplantation and its awareness by the general public. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on the description of the most common ethical issues of transplantation. In modern era the transplantation of tissues and organs is generally seen as positive and emphasized clinical method, but still there are some certain ethical dilemmas. The very problem is the fact that this topic is only few communicated in the public and the citizens, speaking about the specific situation in the Czech Republic, have in certain parts the mistaken awareness of the function of the transplantation system "Opting out" which presumes the posthumous agreement with taking of tissues and organs after the death of the patient. The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to find out first what ethical aspects of transplantations are identified by the experts and whether according to their awareness the general publics have the interest in transplantations. Subsequently, the pre-research survey questions collect whether the answers from the citizens correspond with the answers of the expert representatives and also whether the respondents consider the current system in the Czech Republic as functional and ethically acceptable. Based on the described objectives the primarily qualitative research was chosen, managed by interviewing technique and semi-structured interviews with medical transplantologist, medical lawyer and bioethicist. From these interviews the important ethical aspects were analyzed from which further survey questions that have been tested on a sample of 130 respondents were prepared. The processed survey is the result of the bachelor's thesis and serves only as a pre-research of the pilot study. The results of interviews point to an existence of certain ethical issues connected with transplantations. Subsequently created and validated survey reflects the awareness of Czech Republic citizens of selected topic. Despite the fact that collected data from survey answers are considered as a guide and in fact indicative, some of the registered data is surprising. Among these belongs also e.g. the absolute majority of most respondent conviction of the possibility of illegal trade with organs in the Czech Republic. Other points of interest include the slightest awareness of such citizens who do not want to be donors upon their death. The positive result can be the fact that most of the surveyed respondents wish and agree with posthumous collection of their tissues and organs. Immediately we do learn that about the half of respondents is not well familiarized with currently working system of transplantations in the Czech Republic that assumes the agreement with posthumous collection of tissues and organs. Based on these findings, this created survey with specific slight changes, can be used in the future for quantitative more detailed investigation focused on the mentioned respondents according to pre-research results.
