A Comparison of Two Models of the Energy Market Development in Czech Republic from 2015 to 2040
Dvořáková, Jitka ; Zeman, Martin (advisor) ; Lukášová, Tereza (referee)
The bachelor thesis is focused on the prediction of the energy market in the Czech Republic between 2015 and 2040 and on the comparison of potential costs related to two models of energy portfolio management. The first model was created according to the National Energy Concept from 2014, while the other one was designed artificially to simulate usage of the renewable resources in 50% of the electric energy production. The theoretical part of the thesis discusses the recent situation of the Czech energy market, defines types of energy resources and explains terms related to the discussed topic. In the practical part, direct production costs of different kinds of power plants were computed and used to estimate economic demands of the two considered models. The efficiency of both models was compared and evaluated. The aim of the thesis was to decide, which of the two models would be more favourable for the Czech national economy. Key words: energy, energy market, direct costs, economic advantage JEL classification: Q40, Q41, Q43, Q47
Management of the supply services from "Central Heating and Hot Water Supply System" in a given region.
SYTAŘ, Jan
This bachelor thesis tries to answer some questions concerning energy delivery to customers. It analyses various kinds of energy, its sources and their properties. It also presents the various ways energy can be used depending on its properties and its availability to end customers. It maps the current energy market and gives the overview of supply and demand. It shows how state policy influences the energy market and the prices of the different energies. The work focuses on energy that is used for heating and hot water. It provides an analysis of the total energy supply and the proportion taken up by heating and hot water. The work compares the average cost of this energy in relation to the total cost of living in a particular region. The work gives examples of customer-supplier relationship, marketing and suggests some ways of possible future development. The work introduces a system of heat supply called "Central Heating and Hot Water Supply System". Advantages and disadvantages of this system are described, as well as trends and possibilities offered by current development of new technologies in energetics, marketing and communication with customers. The work also examines a particular "Central Heating and Hot Water Supply System" in a given region. Data from past several years have been assessed and compared to average data from similar "Central Heating and Hot Water Supply Systems" from all over the Czech Republic. Marketing of the supply services from "Central Heating and Hot Water Supply System" has been assessed. Based on the analyses that have been carried out, the work tries to find answers to questions as to whether there is a space for "Central Heating and Hot Water Supply System" on the market or whether these systems are likely to disappear in the future. Furthermore, it wants to show possible improvements in communication with customers and assess the extent to which they can help to keep the position on a regional market.
The Financial analysis as one of the factor in choosing a supplier of electricity.

Analýza rizik a oceňování energetických retailových kontraktů
Hron, Jiří ; Marek, Luboš (advisor) ; Málek, Jiří (referee) ; Krtička, Jiří (referee)
The presented dissertation is focused on the applications of statistical methods and ap-proaches applied in the energy business. The need for the modeling of energy risks arose only recently when the energy business was opened to competition. Therefore, the prima-ry aim of the dissertation is to clarify the main principles of the energy business which are necessary for understanding both risk principles and motivation of the proposed models. I am largely focused on retail risks, i.e., the risks associated with delivery to end-consumers. In particular, I deal with energy contracts providing volume flexibility, recalled as swing options in the literature. Therefore, the second issue on which I am focusing is a group of demand-driven swing options whose more systematic analysis in the portfolio context has not been published so far. Examining the risk, I apply the deductive (probabil-istic) analysis which reveals interesting relations between correlations. The practical ap-plications also require inductive considerations resulting in the construction of statistical estimators relying on historical data. I propose an estimator of the volumetric correlation based on a classical theory whose bias is investigated via MC simulation. To analyze a par-ticular volume-price correlation, I introduced the notion of robust dependency. Applying bootstrap procedures, robust dependency can be used both for testing purposes and for sensitivity analysis of the sample correlation. There are many works available devoted to energy price models which are different from the price models applied on financial markets. Therefore, the third target of the dis-sertation is an empirical statistical analysis of both power and natural gas Czech spot pric-es which can serve as a basis for the development of price models adapted to the Czech market environment. Finally, the fourth aim is the evaluation of power contracts which is very specific. The outputs of the model are both a synthetic market price and a hedging strategy. The model is designed to provide flexibility in practical applications.

Organisation and regulation aspects of energy market
KLÁNOVÁ, Martina
The electrical energy is a highly valued commodity with worldwide strategic importance. Its importance and price have been rising constantly. It comes from various resources and its main drawback is its difficult storability. The energy market, where production, distribution and sale of electrical energy take place, is therefore ruled by specific legal framework and EU directives.
Analysis of the success of direct marketing in the energy industry
Smička, Jakub ; Skokanová, Dagmar (advisor) ; Zamazalová, Marcela (referee)
In my undergraduate work, I engaged in looking at the energy market (power, electricity and natural gas) and applying the tools of direct marketing in attracting new clients. The first chapter describes the various tools of direct marketing, the second chapter focuses on the energy market and as such the contents of the third chapter is the application of direct marketing tools at three companies in the energy industry (Investments Company Lama as a supplier, the company Blue Ocean Management as an intermediary between the supplier and the household and WR-Energy as an intermediary between suppliers and corporate clients). Finally, it is preoccupied with analyzing the success of direct marketing tools that companies use the above.
Pass-through rate of Emission Allowances In Energy Market of the Czech Republic in 2009 and 2010
Rázek, Michal ; Bartoň, Petr (advisor) ; Koubek, Ivo (referee)
Introduction of emission trading scheme of tradable permits become a great phenomena among energy business agents. Each emitter of CO2 is granted or allocated definite amount of tradable permitts. These allow him to produce one tonne of CO2 or to sell them on the spot or forvard market. Since these tradable permits became valuable (behave as a commercial instrument) they carry two possible usage. To be consumed when producing MWh of energy of to be sold on the market. These alternative usage are according to economy theory opportunity costs, therefore should be considered as the implicit costs and implemented into the price setting. When operating on competitive market, this cost increase should be fully passed on to the price. In this paper we analyze this pass-through of the permits costs. By using regression analysis we try to estimate the pass-through rate of the permits costs in power energy market. We analyze the spot and futures market in the Czech Republic (PXE) and in Germany (EEX). Estimated pass through rate ranges between 0,65 and 1,2. The results emphasize that the energy market is quite competitive, because the costs are more or less fully passed on consumers. One interesting feature arose from results. The pass-through rate greater than one is sort of economically counter-intuitive and should be studied in more detail in some future work.
