Creation of dashboards in the tool QlikView

This diploma thesis deals with performance dashboards and QlikView tool which serves for creation of these dashboards. The work is divided into seven parts. The first and the second part together focus on defining the theoretical foundations of Business Intelligence and Corporate Performance Management, which create basis for performance dashboards. The focus of the third part lies in definition of term performance dashboard and clarifying its major advantages and benefits for a company. An important part is also the description of performance dashboard composition in terms of their usability, layered structure and division into various types. The forth part analyses existing criteria for evaluating of tools dedicated for creation of dashboards. Its goal is, according to the forgone analysis, to make the own list of criteria for evaluating these tools. The aim of the fifth part of this work is to describe QlikView platform. It provides a brief overview of the platform in terms of its most important components and their purpose and also provides an insight into basic architecture of this platform and compares it with traditional BI solutions. The sixth part describes basic principles of work in QlikView. Its goal is to demonstrate the basic procedure of dashboards creation in this environment on sample examples, which should also serve as a simple guide for beginner users of this tool. The last seventh part deals with evaluation of QlikView solution. Its main purpose is to review possibilities and capabilities of this tool for dashboard creation according to the predetermined criteria which are applied to the tool during its evaluation.

Selection and Guide to CASE tool for teaching UML

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to select a CASE tool for UML modeling and write a manual for this instrument, which will subsequently be used for teaching at the VŠE. In this work, therefore, can set the selection criteria and method of election of the resulting CASE tool for teaching. On the resulting CASE tool is written guide for use. Assuming that expectations of use are similar to VŠE, the program can also be recommend to use by other subjects. The first part deals primarily with the suitable candidates for teaching UML, setting of criteria for their selection and comparison. The second part is a practical guide to program- from download to creation the first diagram.
User interface design tools

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to characterize and evaluate WYSIWYG tools used in user interface design of desktop applications and then to select the best tool. In order to achieve this goal it is first necessary to define a terminology in the problem domain of the user interface design and afterwards to specify the evaluation criteria and their weights of the tools assessment. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part explains terms like user interface, application, WYSIWYG technologies and describes the basic principles of user interface design. The practical part defines criteria for evaluation of tools used in design of user interface and characterizes selected tools. The last chapter of the practical part contains final assessment of the selected tools and the best tool is chosen. The tools chosen for evaluation are GUI Design Studio, Microsoft Expression Blend, Microsoft Office Visio, Java GUI Builder and Balsamiq Mockup. Evaluation criteria that have been selected are license, price, availability of trial version, the quality of information on the website, support, Czech localization, friendly user interface and functionality. Weights of criteria are based on one of the methods of the multi-criteria decision analysis. Contribution of this thesis can be found in evaluation of selected tools used in design of user interface and thus in comparison of several different tools.
The Comparison of Web Pages of Chosen Industrial Cities of EU

This bachelor thesis devotes to the methods of rating and comparing of web pages. It provides a historical evolution of web page as itself and its significance for contemporary society. The main aim is to make up and describe newly created groups of rating criteria for an act of comparing web presentations. And also to apply those criteria on chosen web pages. These pages are three industrial cities of the European Union. They are Ostrava for the Czech Republic, polish Gdansk and Leipzig for Germany. Results are at least two. By the first I mean the rating methodology useful for not only industrial cities and the second one is a summary of the applied methodology of particular city pages.
Analysis of Various Service Provisioning Practices

The topic of the thesis focuses on the analysis of various service provisioning practices from the view point of a prospect customer organization. Introductory part of the thesis summarizes the actual challenges of IS/ICT for an appropriate business alignment, defines the theoretical foundations of sourcing and ICT services, considering the contemporary state of these fields. Moreover, it identifies the related areas of these fields, like enterprise architecture, IS/ICT management, and systems integration. The central part deals with the identification and analysis of the areas that influence the decision making of ICT service sourcing. Results of this analysis are summarized and further developed by creating a framework to assist companies in deciding the most suited ICT sourcing solution. Within this framework the thesis summarizes important criteria to be considered for a much suited ICT service provisioning practice. It details the prerequisites for the use of this approach and its limitations. Subsequently, it presents an evaluation of certain ICT services within the SaaS market, that could be applicable in the enterprise environment. Finally, the thesis provides a simplified case study, demonstrating a required mindset for exercising the framework in practice.

Place of business in tax laws

This work aims at the problems of the place of business in tax laws, and it is divided into three parts. At the beginning this place of business is defined out of point of commercial law, in the first place out of point of the VAT law and the law of income tax with mentioning European court yard juridicature and international contracts about prevention of double taxation. Another part of this work deals with limitation of criteria and analysis of parameters important for establishing a place of business out of point of the VAT law and permanent place of business out of point of the income tax law. The last part focuses on comparison between the place of business and permanent place of business according to the chosen criteria. There is also summary concerning the establishment of the place of business out of point of two taxes and their impact on reality.
Empirical comparison of free software suites for knowledge discovery from data

Both topic and main objective of the diploma thesis is a comparison of free data mining suites. Subjects of comparison are six particular applications developed under university projects as experimental tools for data mining and mediums for educational purposes. Criteria of the comparison are derived from four general aspects that form the base for further analyses. Each system is evaluated as a tool for handling real-time data mining tasks, a tool supporting various phases of the CRISP-DM methodology, a tool capable of practical employment on certain data and as a common software system. These aspects bring 31 particular criteria for comparison, evaluation of whose was determined by thorough analysis of each system. The results of comparison confirmed the anticipated assumption. As the best tool the Weka data mining suite was evaluated. The main advantages of Weka are high number of machine learning algorithms, numerous data preparation tools and speed of processing.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is a comparison of theoretical finding and recommendation with solving in concrete enterprise Brisk Tabor a.s. The findings from the professional publications are summarized in the theoretical part. The system of selection and evaluation of suppliers in the plant is analysed in the practical part. Several recommendations and proposals result from theoretical knowledge and from a practical experience. There are a new form for selection of suppliers and modified form for regular evaluation of suppliers.
