Evolution of springy organisms
Krčah, Marcel ; Petříček, Martin (referee) ; Mráz, František (advisor)
A springy organism is an extremely simpli ed model of a moving structure consisting of springs contracting in a simple harmonic motion (SHM). Several projects are devoted to design and simulation of these artifficial models. Automatic tools which search for an appropriate control system of a given springy organism are also available, but for two-dimensional versions only. The main contribution of the present work is to provide a set of tools for designing, simulating and optimizing three-dimensional springy organisms. They include an interactive editor, a run-time graphical simulator and an automatic tool based on genetic algorithms, which optimizes parameters of SHMs. The tools are integrated into a framework for evolutionary experiments and distributed computations called ERO. Optimization mechanism is tested using a set of experiments. Analysis of the experiments led to improvement of the original con guration of the mechanism.

Computational modelling of interaction between oscillating vocal folds and air flow
Pavlica, Ondřej ; Matug, Michal (referee) ; Švancara, Pavel (advisor)
Master thesis deals with creating numerical model of the human vocal folds. Calculation algorithm includes interaction between vocal chords and the air flow. Modal analysis of structural and acoustic environment, backround research of vocal folds function and summary of some published overviews of numerical models are parts of this work. Analysis of the results achieved by the numerical simulations and calculations are focused on the pressure and velocity conditions in the areas under vocal folds, between vocal folds and above vocal folds. Movement and stress analysis of individual layers of vocal folds has been made. Impact of tissue thickness on resulting behaviour has been assessed.

Pospíšil, Miloslav ; Vannucci, Luca ; Luptovcová, Martina ; Svoboda, Jan ; Huliková, Katarína ; Kuldová, Miloslava ; Bezouška, Karel ; Krist, Pavel ; Pešta, M. ; Fišerová, Anna
Potentiation of immunological parameters by multivalent glycodendrimers (PAMAM-GlcNAc8) against experimental mouse melanoma and rat colon or glioma cancer. PAMAM –GlcNAc8 induce biological effects at different levels of cancer microenvironmental components and concern both, effector and cancer cells

Schlieren analysis of gas flow in laser technology
Pavelka, Jan ; Mrňa, Libor ; Horník, Petr ; Jedlička, Petr
Laser technology - cutting and welding require shielding gases to prevent oxidation of materials. Schlieren imaging method visualizes those gas flows. Schlieren imaging can be used for direct monitoring of the gas flows or to analyze interaction of the process gases and molten materials.

Evaluation of the Process of the Social Security Reform in the Czech Republic
Votýpková, Hana ; Peková, Jitka (advisor) ; Šárová, Jaroslava (referee)
Social security is an important part of the state social policy. The social security development depends upon many factors and their interaction and interpretation changes in historic context. Historic sources of social security development show a strong and urgent need of the state to deal with these questions. Chapter 1 contains a continual historical overview of social security in Czech Republic. The development of this important part of the state economy is closely connected to political and economical situation and the need of valid legal enactment implementation. The social security concept is inspired by proven models of other countries, especially Sweden. The basic system principles have to be respected simultaneously. Chapter 3 follows the fundamental problems which have been monitored since 2000. Their particular form is summed up in seven principal paragraphs. As the Czech Republic is now a part of the European economic space I find very important to treat the basic principles and objectives of social policy in European countries, however in general terms. Chapter 5 describes individual phases of the social security reform which have been put into effect in 2008 and also a concept which has been prepared for 2009

Interaction of pelvic bone and acetabular component
Vyčichl, Jan ; Jiroušek, Ondřej ; Jíra, J.
The article deals with development and validation of complex FE model of pelvic bone and acetabular component. The model of pelvic bone is constructed on basis of CT data of high resolution. Different designs of acetabular components are then incorporated in the FE model using Boolean operations. Comparative study of different acetabular components (spherical, conical and spherical cemented) is presented. Contact stresses in the underlying pelvic bone are compared for each of the cup designs.

Numerical modelling of interaction between maquette of skull and protective helmet
Krumphanzl, V. ; Micka, Michal
The simple test of the cycling protective helmet loaded by statical forces on the top of the helmet is simulated using program ANSYS. The standardized model for laboratory tests of helmets is used as the model of the head.

Matematické modelování interakce tekutiny a tělesa v problematice lidských hlasivek
Šidlof, Petr
In the paper numerical results from a mathematical model of human vocal folds are compared with experimental data obtained from measurements on a maquette of vocal folds, which consisted of a silicone element vibrating in a channel conveying air.

Social climate of classroom
Rychetský, Miloslav
The theoretical part of my thesis focuses on the issue of social climate of a school class, on social position of the pupil within the class as well as on the interaction between the individual and the group. The research is based on the findings concerning pupils of a particular 5th grade of the elementary school and their perception of the current climate of their class and the structure of mutual relationships between the pupils. Moreover it is based on the position status of a particular individual in the class, his case study and activities aimed at reinforcement of positive tendencies in mutual relationships.
