Possibilities for NGOs to participate in implementation of projects on socio-legal protection of children.
LOJÍKOVÁ, Jitka
In recent years, the social and legal protection of children has been much discussed and talked over by the general public. To a considerable extent that is definitely a result of the upcoming amendment to the Children?s Social and Legal Protection Act No. 359/1999 Coll., which is going to bring numerous changes regarding individuals taking part in the social and legal protection of children. The opening focuses on governmental and non-governmental organisations that cooperate with families. The social and legal protection of children, its structure and historical course are analysed and the issue of child neglect as well as the procedures of the children?s social and legal protection authorities and further cooperating subjects are specified. Family redevelopment is another point which is aimed at. Important constitutional and international documents related to the social and legal protection of children are described. Last but not least, the ethical code of a social worker is mentioned, which represents one of the fundamental documents in social work. The objective of the research lay in monitoring the circumstances of the cooperation between the Children?s Social and Legal Protection Authority (OSPOD) and the non-governmental non-profit organisations (NNO) in the Regions of South Bohemia and Pilsen. The thesis analyses the effects of the cooperation between the OSPOD and NNO and compares the attained experience of the subjects taking part in family redevelopment. The research questions of the thesis focused on cooperation negotiation between the children?s social and legal protection authorities and non-governmental non-profit organisations, determining strengths and weaknesses of such cooperations. Having processed the obtained data it was found out that the form of cooperation negotiation between the OSPOD and NNO is not cohesive. It takes place upon an individual agreement between individual OSPODs and NNOs. Additionally, the strengths and weaknesses of the cooperation between the OSPOD and NNO were further specified based upon the carried out research. To complete the task, a questioning method of dialogue was selected for the research. Half-standard discussions with the workers of the children?s social and legal protection authorities as well as non-governmental non-profit organisations took place in the Regions of South Bohemia and Pilsen.
The Influence of free time activities of gipsy children and youth as a prevention of socially pathological phenomenon in SaSM - DDM ČB
ZIMANDLOVÁ, Monika
The thesis topic, is the use of free time activities within the framework of the Salesian centre in České Budějovice (specifically its detached work-place, the contact centre Maják) as a preventative method against unruly behaviour, it pursues the problems of unruly behaviour in the target group of gypsy children and teenagers and its prevention. The theory part of the thesis introduces the theoretical outcomes of free time pedagogy and social pedagogy. Furthermore the thesis includes a brief description of the problematics of the gypsy minority population (for example the low education standard of gypsies, which has a great effect on the appearance of unruly behaviour), vocation and preventative principals of the Salesian centre in České Budějovice. The aim of the work, was to identify the potential of using free time activities as one of the possibilities for preventing unruly behaviour of gypsy children within the framework of the SaSM - DDM ČB. The practical part of the thesis uses qualitative strategic research, which was carried out with the help of a semi-structured discussion. The research was carried out in the detached workplace of the Salesian centre in České Budějovice ? The contact centre Maják. During the research, thirteen respondents, within the ages of 7-13, had been addressed. On the basis of the findings received from the research, it is possible to say, that preventative activities, which take place during the free time activities of the Centre, are in a greater part aimed at a general problematics of unruly behaviour rather than particular cases of unruly behaviour which appear with particular group of gypsy children and teenagers. Majority of the activities are being realised through the employees of the centre. Preventative programmes prepared for a target group took place mainly in the form of lectures and utilising of alternative methods has been completely forgotten, even though the employees of the organisation are aware of its necessity. From the results obtained from my own research it is possible to deduce the following hypothesis: H1: Preventative programmes of the centre are general. H2: The centre is aware of the risky behaviour of its clients , but their preventative activities are not directly prepared with this condition of the behaviour. H3: Preference is given to the preventative activities prepared within the framework of the centre over activities that have been requested from independent individuals/organisations. H4:Alternative methods within the framework of the preventative activities are not preferred.
Engagement of the volunteers in the solution to the accidents in the South-Moravia region
VALOUŠKOVÁ, Aneta
The theme of my diploma thesis is the engagement of the volunteers in the solution to the accidents in the South-Moravia region. In my diploma thesis I am involved in the issue of the engagement of the volunteers in the solution to the accidents in the South-Moravia region. I assume that the utilization of the potential of the volunteers is one of the possibilities of the acquisition of the forces, which could be used for the recovery of the consequences, post-traumatic care to struck persons and other activities within the solution to the accidents, all parallelly with the actions of the professional teams of the integrated rescue system bodies. The needs of the population in case of the accidents are rather differentiated, and the engagement of the volunteers completes the appointed forces and means of the integrated rescue system bodies. At present time, the adequate legal framework, modifying the engagement of the volunteers in the solution to the accidents, does not exist in the Czech Republic. Non-governmental non-profit organizations are united in the South-Moravia region into the Panel of the South-Moravia Region, which establishes the platform and enables the South-Moravia Region more effective engagement of the non-governmental non-profit organizations. The volunteers, organized in the Panel of the South-Moravia Region, are engaged in the solution to the accidents and the trainings organized in the level of the region, municipalities with widened competence and the integrated rescue system bodies.
Introduction of Supervision into Non-State Non-Profit Organizations in the Context of the Social Services Act.
BROŽOVÁ, Pavla
In the theoretical section the diploma thesis is focused on giving definitions of the terms a non-state non-profit organization and supervision. A great extent of attention is then paid to the introduction of supervision into organizations and obstacles that play an important role in this process. The aim of the research section of the thesis was to survey the current state of the introduction of supervision in non-state non-profit organizations providing social services in the South Bohemian Region. The first partial objective was to map the reasons for the introduction of supervision in these organizations. The other partial objective was to identify the obstacles preventing organizations from the introduction of supervision in their workplaces. To conduct the research of the thesis, the qualitative research was chosen, the interviewing method, the technique of semi-conducted interviews The research group consisted of directors or managing directors of non-state non-profit organizations providing social services, and their employees. From the results it is evident that the effectiveness of the Act on Social Services, i.e. also of the Standards of quality of social services, is not the only reason for the introduction of supervision. According to the answers of addressed respondents, there are much more reasons for this measure. Understanding the reasons for the introduction of supervision, however, is different in the management of an organizations and in its employees. The research has also shown that the lack of funds is the major obstacle in implementing supervision into non-state non-profit organizations that provide social services. The author proposes possible solutions to this problem in the discussion. This thesis may be the basis for the introduction of supervision in organizations where it is not used yet. The work can contribute to facilitate the introduction of supervision into organizations providing social services because individual obstacles have been detected and described. Furthermore, this work could be beneficial for students and the staff of helping professions.
Consulting and training centre of assistant dogs
VANIŠOVÁ, Romana
A lot of handicapped people need help while meeting their everyday needs provided by another person. Not only their family members, any close people, specialists and non-profit organisations can provide them with needful help but also an assistance dog that can become a companion and a friend as well. Those for disabled people specially trained dogs may be helpful with such a handicapped person to cope better with his/her daily life. At present, there are four organisations in the Czech Republic which are engaged in the training of assistance dogs. Generally those organisations are non-government and no-profit institutions. It is this Work{\crq}s objective to show and present the conditions regarding social consultancy for handicapped people in relation to the assistance dogs and to make out a project design for a Counselling and Training Centre of Assistance Dogs whereas the design would appropriately complete the already existing net of training centres of assistance dogs and social services for disabled people. A research was performed which served as a basis to draw up the project design of Counselling and Training Centre of Assistance Dogs and it resulted from that the handicapped people who possess an assistance dog had all available information how to procure a dog and how to finance the dog{\crq}s training; they were provided with advice and they are satisfied with the present training centres services. The disabled people who don{\crq}t possess an assistance dog are short of information about such a possibility and they don{\crq}t actually know who to address to in case if they are interested in an assistance dog. Further, it resulted from the research that more than a half of the enquired organisations, which provide social services, don{\crq}t supply their clients with any information about the assistance dogs and related topics. Based on those results I worked out a proposal of the Counselling and Training Centre of Assistance Dogs which could enhance the existing net of services in relation to the assistance dogs. This Centre will deal with special social consultancy, training of assistance dogs and an enlightening activity. The research results also demonstrate that it is necessary in terms of such a Centre to co-operate with organisations which provide social services to handicapped people and to do the enlightening activity with general public.
The importance of the comprehensive rehabilitation system of children with a combined handicap
ČÍŽKOVÁ, Zdeňka
The bachelor work investigates the integral rehabilitation system of care for children with a severe complex handicap. A partial aim of the work was to map out this problem in the ARPIDA Centre, a.c. in České Budějovice which provides services in this field. The research proved hypothesis no. 1 which presumes that when applying an integral rehabilitation system, close cooperation between interested professionals and the parents of a handicapped child is necessary. Hypothesis no. 2 was also proved. It states that the basis for complex care of children with severe complex handicap within the integral rehabilitation system is therapeutic physical education, especially the Vojta{\crq}s reflex method. Therapy is a long term and team effort and, as proven by the research, the parents are an integral part of the team. The results of the research proved the parents´ satisfaction with the activities of ARPIDA centre, including the opportunity to cooperate with professionals working at the centre. In my opinion there is also significant room for appropriate education for parents of children with a severe handicap with regards to the difficult task of caring for their children. This work can be used as study material for those interested in work in helping professions.
