Physically chemical properties of epitaxial films CeO2/Cu(110)
Aulická, Marie ; Veltruská, Kateřina (advisor) ; Nehasil, Václav (referee)
In this work ways of preparation of thin epitaxial cerium oxide film on Cu(110) surface were studied. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray photoelectron difraction (XPD), low energy electron difraction (LEED), ion scattering spectroscopy (ISS) and scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) were used for the characterization of prepared systems. The island structure of CeO2 was prepared by the method of reactive evaporation in oxygen atmosphere. The influence of temperature on the electronic structure and morphology was studied. At the temperature above 550 ˚C partial reduction to Ce2O3 and reordering of the islands to the CeO2(331) structure was observed. The ceria promoted oxidation of copper surface was approved, since the clean c(6x2) reconstruction of the surface was observed at the oxygen exposure 1,5 order of magnitude lower then on Cu(110) alone. The other model system was prepared by cerium evaporation to the oxygen precovered Cu(110) surface. The mix of (2x1) and c(6x2) surface reconstruction was formed by oxygen exposition at 300 ˚C. Cerium was deposited on this surface, also at 300 ˚C. During the following heating to 500 ˚C the formation of epitaxial film Ce2O3(0001) was observed, accompanied by the formation of large hundreds nm long smooth band structures in the [11̄0] direction.

Progress of technology of clearnes waste-water
Jechová, Markéta ; Jančaříková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Andreska, Jan (referee)
Saying wastewater treatment, we should imagine not only wastewater cleaning technologies, but also the way the wastewater gets into the wastewater treatment plant, as well as the possibility of liquidation of the disposed trash. In the Czech Republic discharging wastewater has its rots in the 14th century, but the first wastewater treatment plant was not activated until the February 1905. It operated till the sixties (Pražské vodovody a kanalizace, 2010; Historie stokování a čištění odpadních vod v Praze, 1998). The wastewater treatment plant collects the wastewater from households, the rain water and wastewater from factories. These often have the liability for cleaning their wastewater, so that no dangerous chemical could get into the wastewater treatment plant. (Císař, 1987) There are two possible ways of treating the wastewater, an intensive and an extensive method. The extensive method is simpler and undemanding the constant power supply (Švehla, 2007). The cleaning of wastewater is very important as the treated water is drained into watercourses. Even thought self-purification processes, that naturally dispose organic materials, occur in channels, the water and the environment would be endangered without human intervention (Říha, 1987). Research and development or reconstruction works on water...

Contributions to the architectonical design and interior fitting of the houses in the early modern villages and liege towns in Bohemia
Kypta, Jan ; Klápště, Jan (advisor) ; Smetánka, Zdeněk (referee) ; Vařeka, Pavel (referee)
The work consists of four chapters dedicated to selected aspects of research in architecture and interior fittings of houses of late medieval and early modern villages and small towns in the 2nd mid-15th in the 16th century. The first chapter deals with the occurrence of late Gothic and Renaissance architectural elements in the estates. It is conceived as a set of model clauses coherent analysis of material and written sources. In the end, there are social groups defined by the acquirers. The second chapter presents a balance of knowledge about the application of late Gothic and Renaissance tiles in the environment of farms and rural parishes. At the forefront are questions about the chronology of this phenomenon, the possibility of reconstruction of heating equipment, the confrontation with the results of research remaining buildings and comparison with a higher social milieu (manor houses). The third chapter presents the results of two-conceived interdisciplinary studies on collective findings of unusual types of tiles in a rural context. The aim of the analysis of written and material sources is an attempt to answer the question whether the tiled stove conveys the social status of the customer. The fourth chapter in the example of mass set of tiles from a small town (Sedlcany) shows the possibilities and...

Czech governmental legislative planning in the years 1998-2002
Linek, Lukáš ; Čada, K. ; Kabele, J.
The aim of the study was to reveal the degree to which government legislative planning fulfilled the following coordinative tasks: distributing legislative tasks and establishing a timetable for their completion; balancing political interests and transforming the legal code during harmonising Czech law with ES law and reforming the Czech legal code. This empirical study has an investigative character. It reconstructs the process of drawing up the legislative plans (1998ů2002), the preparation of the new legislative plan (the remainder of 2002) and the outlook for the future (2003ů2006).

Fázové transformace a mikrostrukturní změny ve slitině TIMET LCB
Šmilauerová, Jana ; Janeček, Miloš (advisor) ; Šíma, Vladimír (referee)
In the present work, phase transformations in TIMETAL LCB tita- nium alloy and their influence on mechanical properties were studied. Different initial conditions were prepared by solution treating above β-transus immedi- ately followed by heat treatment in α/β temperature regime. These resulted in different grain boundary α thicknesses and contiguities at a fixed α vol- ume fraction. The subsequent ageing response of this material was studied by low temperature ageing at 400 ◦ C, 450 ◦ C and 500 ◦ C. Phase transformations were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and resistivity measurements. Mechan- ical properties were investigated using microhardness measurements and tensile tests. It has been proved that metastable ω phase is formed during annealing at 400 ◦ C and 450 ◦ C. ω particles further transform to very fine precipitates of α phase when exposed to annealing for longer time periods. These fine precip- itates significantly contribute to increase of microhardness and achieving high value of yield stress. Keywords: Metastable beta Ti alloys, phase transformations, microstructure changes, ω phase 1

Impact of commercial urban sprawl on soil cover on the outskirts of Prague and its future predictions
Havel, Petr ; Chuman, Tomáš (advisor) ; Romportl, Dušan (referee)
The urban sprawl cannot be any longer perceived as a solely esthetic and socioeconomic problem. The process of shift of population and activities from city centre to its fringe has significant environmental impacts as well. Typicaly, suburban areas are spatially and therefore energetically demanding, the landscape is being fragmented by their presence and the natural environment of organisms is severely modified or destroyed. Soil sealing and impervious surfaces lead to altered heat and moist regimes, infiltration rate and runoff. Soils at city fringe - usually very productive and valuable - are endangered by total loss of all of their functions, both environmental and agricultural. That is also the case of Prague surroundings, where high quality soils, which are supposed to be protected by the law, are irreversibly degraded by urban sprawl. Logistic regression model in this work has proved that commercial urban sprawl tends to occur in areas with a good logistic position and a level terrain. The awareness of factors, which are favorable for urban sprawl, can be utilized in future to make local planning more effective and prevent sealing of high-quality agricultural soils, which are currently built on. By sprawling on an agricultural land, Czech Republic loses its natural wealth and valuable...
