Alcohol Detoxitication Center for Children and Youths its Function and Significance in the Network of Institutions which Provide Treatment
DUKOVÁ, Ivana
The objective of this thesis was the description of the work of the Child and Adolescent Detoxification Centre in Prague, its importance in the treatment drug addiction among children and adolescents. Another objective was to find out about the interrelationship of the work of regional coordinators for the prevention of risk behaviour and forms of follow-up therapy according to individual needs and nature of Child and Adolescent Detoxification Centre in Prague. The research conducted in the period from January to March 2010. Mapping the variants of follow-up therapy of the clients using habit-forming drugs in different regions of the Czech Republic and the forms of prevention are other objectives. The theoretical part of the thesis contains the description of the establishment of the Hospital of Sisters of Mercy of St. Charles Borromeo, in the premises of which the Child and Adolescent Detoxification Centre (CaADC) in Prague is located, as well as the description of the CaADC, and its medical and other personnel. The thesis describes the process of hospitalization, tests which preceded it and the necessary procedures to ensure successful completion of the hospitalization. Part of the theoretical block is dedicated to the care provided by a social worker, psychologist and therapists. Related legislation that forms the basis of prevention methods of individual regional drug coordinators and the centre itself is an integral part of the work. Prevention is a critical form of struggle against the abuse of psychotropic substances by children and adolescents. It is described in detail here, as well as the factors involved in the development of addiction. Other related terms only complement the mosaic of the studied issue. Within quantitative research, a content analysis of the data from the statistics of the Child and Adolescent Detoxification Centre in Prague was used to verify set hypotheses. The responses of regional drug coordinators to a set of open and semi-open questions, which were formulated for this purpose, were also used. Another source was the results of standardized interviews with three doctors at the Child and Adolescent Detoxification Centre in Prague. Hypotheses 1, 3 and 5 have not been confirmed. On the contrary, hypotheses 2 and 4 have been confirmed. The set objectives have been met. Unfortunately, our country still lacks a sufficient number of facilities that provide follow-up care of child drug addicts, as is clear from the research.

Authoritarian Values and Electoral Behaviour in Slovakia
Slyško, Martin ; Vinopal, Jiří (advisor) ; Buriánek, Jiří (referee)
Along with the right-left economical dimension of positioning of political parties and voters, there is also dimension of division along cultural and value items which is described as authoritarianism - libertarianism axis or sometimes conservatism - liberalism. In new democracies the division along clear support for liberal democracy on the one hand and support or toleration of non liberal use of power on the other hand is often very important. We distinguish between authoritarianism as orientation with tendency towards support for restrictive and hierarchical politics, which in some cases lead to non liberal variant of formally democratic order, and cultural conservatism, which has its roots mainly in higher level of religiosity. Authoritarian and conservative tendencies are to certain level associated with each other, nevertheless they do not create an integral complex. There is evidence of a group with authoritarian value orientation and culturally liberal position at the same time; in Slovak conditions it is the case of the electorate of left wing party Smer (Direction). Examining the opinion cleavage among Slovak public along cultural and value questions, we identify the biggest conflict potential of the authoritarian items as the mode of political rule and nationalism. Next significant...

The aim was to consider possible ways to restoration of it and to elaborate the final version of the restoration proposal. The semi-destructive methods in the construction survey were used. A humidity of endangered construction elements was measured, the degree of infestation and its intensity were determined. Results were entered into drawings supplemented by tables. Probable cause of damage and possible ways to eliminate it were in results also recorded. Such a combination of options to ensure the long-term solution to the problem with regard to maintaining the authentic appearance of the building by creating benchmarks and comparison of the results was chosen. This combination includes a drainage system, an insulation of lower structure against moisture and creating a vertical drainage, ensuring the floor and the interior ventilation with the help of horizontal openings in the foundation wall, roof structure repair, replacement of the roofing and ensuring stiffness of the truss. The results of this work provides the necessary documents to the contracting authority to take the necessary steps in the reconstruction and rehabilitation of timber structures, respectively, to award a professional company. It can also be applied to objects of a similar nature that are also threatened by high incidence of moisture from the lower building.

Bergerová, Lenka ; Fátorová, Ilona (advisor) ; Vrbacký, Filip (referee)
5 Title: Morphology and cytochemical diagnosis of hairy cells leukemia (Bachelor thesis) Author: Lenka Bergerová Department: Charles University in Prague - Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, branch of study Medical Laboratory Technician Supervisor: MUDr. Dana Mikulenková Abstract Hairy cell leukemia is the chronic lymphoproliferative disorder of clonal character arising from mature B cells. In the peripheral blood smear and in the bone marrow smear, we find the typical leukemic cells which are characteristic by their size, morphology of cell nucleus and cytoplasm. They are bigger than healthy lymphocytes, and they have most frequently the kidney shaped nucleus with fine net-like chromatin and the cytoplasm projecting into fine salients all over the cell perimeter. In the blood count we usually find a mild pancytopenia. To demonstrate the presence of the pathological cells in the peripheral blood smear and the bone marrow smear, we use the panoptic staining method according to Pappenheim. Among other examinations contributing to the diagnostics of this disease belongcytochemical examination of acid phosphatase and acid phosphatase resistent for tartarate, immunophenotypic findings and trepan bone marrow biopsy. In addition to the typical form of hairy cell leukemia we distinguish another variant form of...

Dvořák, Adam ; Lebeda, Tomáš (advisor) ; Mlejnek, Josef (referee)
Diploma thesis "Greek electoral system. Inspiration for the Czech Republic?" deals with development of electoral rules in Greece since transition to democracy in 1974 until 2009. Its aim is to analyze all variants of the electoral system, which occurred during this period, especially in terms of proportionality and impact on the party system. Thesis concerns itself with influence of particular variables of electoral system (district magnitude, electoral formula, legal threshold and ballot structure). Findings are used for comparison with the latest proposal of Czech electoral reform (so called "Greek variant"). Efforts were made to reveal the common characteristics of the Greek system and the Czech proposal and also to assess the benefits of this proposal and its potential shortcomings.

A Sure House: Studies on the Dynastic Promise to David in the Books of Samuel.
Rückl, Jan ; Prudký, Martin (advisor) ; Eynikel, Erik (referee) ; Nihan, Christophe (referee)
The dissertation studies the texts mentioning or alluding to the dynastic promise to David in the books of Samuel; in the concluding further perspectives it also overviews the occurrences of the promise in the books of Kings; in the appendix, it comments on the "Law of the King" in Deut 17,14-20, the last verse of which may contain an allusion to the Davidic promise. The study engages with recent discussion on the history of the text of 2 Sam 7. In a detailed textual commentary, it treats with all the differences between the main textual witnesses of the chapter, and apart from the evaluation of the individual variants, it attempts to answer the question whether the differences are due exclusively to the process of transmission, or they are of literary character. Special attention is paid to the value of 1 Chr 17 for the reconstruction of the oldest text of 2 Sam 7; the author hopes that the conclusions of this part of the dissertation may prove to be of some importance for a more general study of the reception of Samuel in Chronicles. The subsequent literary analysis of 2 Sam 7 and the other passages referring to the dynastic promise to David leads to two alternative datings of Nathan's oracle and consequently two alternative redactional hypotheses trying to give account of the emergence of the examined...

Study of persistence phenomenon at Staphylococcus aureus
Kubištová, Lucie ; Lichá, Irena (advisor) ; Melter, Oto (referee)
Staphylococcus aureus is human pathogen and is causative factor of many diseases with different character, from light infections of the skin to life-threatening sepsis. S. aureus often colonizes cystic fibrosis patient's lungs and causes long-standing pneumonia, which can cause death in these patients. Infection caused by S. aureus are, as most of the infections, treated with antibiotics. Failure in treatment is caused because of presence of resistant strains. It was shown, that treatment failure can be caused by different type of the antibiotic tolerance - by the persistence. Persisters are phenotypic variants of isogenic bacterial population, that is unaffected by antibiotic treatment even though they don't have genetics determinants of the resistance. The phenomenon of the persistence in bacteria is still relatively poorly understood. The aim of my thesis was to contribute to the characterization of the persistence in S. aureus. We have optimized a method for rapid identification of persisters' amount in the bacterial population after treatment with antibiotics using the method of measuring the killing curves. We have found out, that exposure to osmotic stress causes increase in number of persistence in the bacterial population by 1 - 2,5 order. Using quantitative PCR method we have analyzed the...
