Characteristics of the working behavior of Czechs and Ukrainians
BYKOVA, Sofia
The aim of this work is to create a transparent and comparable characteristics of the work behavior phenomenon within the cultures of those states - what is common and what is different between them, or maybe incompatible .It is supposed to have some analysis of possible conflicts and their connection with the mentality. The primary reason of this aim choosing is the specialty I study. My work contains information that could be interesting and useful not only for me and my future job, but also for managers and other employees. Overview of examined issues contains specific points, such as the fundamentals of economic psychology and behavioral economics (symbiosis of psychological and economic opinion on motivation and rationality of individuals), theories of motivation and reaction to different occurrence, characteristic of the term "mentality", general points about the human impact of the world economy. For realizing the goals of my work the following hypotheses have been proposed - Czech and Ukrainian mentality have significant differences, though these cultures are close. - Ukrainian and Czech employees are able to work effectively in a team and find a "common language" in the workplace. The difference in mentality does not obstruct on it. - Employers could be interested in the Ukrainian employees taking into account their high concernment and motivation. All three of the hypotheses were confirmed by observed data and comparison of mentality characteristics. Czechs are often tolerant to other cultures, moreover Ukrainian culture is not much different and does not create difficulties in the working relationship. Based on the fact that the chosen company has no conflicts associated with work behavior and differences in mentality, it's hard to define my contribution to this organization work.

Cell culture-based model for the evaluation of adhesive properties of probiotic bacteria
Theodorou, Vasiliki ; Havlík, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Tauchen, Jan (referee)
Probiotic microorganisms, defined as living microorganisms which when administered in adequate amounts confer a health benefit to the host, and their adhesion and colonization of intestinal epithelium, are critical factors in maintaining probiotic efficacy. Polyphenols are a large and heterogeneous group of phytochemicals in plant-based foods, such as tea, coffee, wine, cocoa, cereal grains, soy, fruits and berries. In the last decade, there has been much interest in the health benefits of dietary plant polyphenols that arise from their potential ability to promote adhesion of probiotic bacteria to the human intestinal epithelium. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of four polyphenols: isoquercetrin, phloretin, procyanidin B2 and rutin on the adhesion ability of two potentially probiotic strains (Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus gasseri) to in vitro human intestinal epithelial model consisting of Caco-2 and mucus-secreting HT29-MTX co-culture. The adhesion of Lactobacillus casei after treating the co-culture cell lines with isoquercetrin, phloretin, and rutin was increased by 49.76, 72.97, 63.66 % respectively, whereas procyanidin B2 inhibited the adhesion 20.25% compared with the control sample. The adhesion of Lactobacillus gasseri after treatment of the co-culture with isoquercetrin, phloretin, procyanidin B2 and rutin was increased by 35.45, 31.28, 45.69, 25.01 % respectively compared with the control sample.

Evaluation of soil variability based on measuring the soil electrical conductivity.
Votavová, Eliška ; Kroulík, Milan (advisor) ; Novák, Petr (referee)
The aim of this diploma thesis was to verify the new capabilities for mapping variability of soil using measurement platforms mounted on machines for tillage. The chapter Soil describes types of soil in the Czech Republic, the causes of soil variability and the methods of spatial interpolation. The chapter Mapping Spatial Variability of Land focuses on the method of determining the variability of soil properties through direct and indirect methods, selection of locations for collection of soil samples, methods of measuring electrical conductivity and an overview of options for mapping, mainly via on-the-go sensors. The last part of the literary research is entitled Geographic Information System where I have described the purpose and uses of this system in precise farming. The subsequent practical part of the diploma thesis focuses on evaluation of the level of variability of farm land based on measuring of soil conductivity via a galvanic contact method of measuring and its subsequent comparison during use of an EM 38 MK2 soil conductivity probe. The conclusion contains a summary of the thesis and evaluation of the level of agreement between the obtained data files.

This diploma work considering Business ethics and social responsibility of companies discusses a contemporary topic. The work is separated into several parts. The applied part of the work is based on literary research of selected literature, and deals with business ethics and responsibility of companies that deal with bus traffic and truck transport in actual business practice. The applied part was done by comparing four selected criteria that are linked to corporate responsibility of companies. All of the presented subjects have been dealing with helping people and groups of people for at least ten years, especially to those who need help due to health disorders at being included in normal, everyday life like healthy people, participate in all kinds of sports, culture and social activities. The presented companies and other subjects have been showing for many years how important their help is. The final part of the work contains twenty-five recommendations aimed at expansion of social responsibility of companies.

Genetic Diversity of Semi-captive Population of Western Derby Eland (Taurotragus derbianus derbianus) in Senegal and Phylogenetical Relationships between Western Derby Eland (T. d. derbianus) and Eastern Giant Eland (T. d. gigas)
Zemanová, Hana ; Lukešová, Daniela (advisor) ; Jarmila, Jarmila (referee)
Representatives of family Bovidae are subjects of many studies concerning with their phylogeny, phylogeography, time of divergence or genetic diversity. Taxonomy is solved by comparison of morphological characteristics or by genetic approaches, genetic diversity could be solved by pedigree or by genetic analyses too. Tragelaphinae number nine species of two genera, Tragelaphus sp. and Taurotragus sp. The antelopes of the genus Taurotragus (T. derbianus and T. oryx) belong to the largest antelopes of the world. Derby eland (Taurotragus derbianus) has two subspecies, Western Derby eland (T. d. derbianus) and Eastern Giant eland (T. d. gigas), which are distinguished on the basis of morphological characteristics. Western subspecies (T. d. derbianus) is classified as critically endangered. There lives the only population in Niokolo Koba National Park in Senegal, which numbers fewer than 200 individuals. For the conservation, the semi-captive breeding programme has been established in 2000. It was created by six founders (one male and five females), which are presumed to be non-related. The population within this programme had 95 living individuals in 2013, living in seven herds in Bandia and Fathala reserves in Senegal. The population is under breeding management, which efforts to minimize kinship of the individuals. Studbook was established for the Western Derby eland (T. d. derbianus) in 2008 and is published annually. It acts about small population with low number of founders and no gene flow, which is threatened by inbreeding and genetic drift. Genetic diversity of the population was evaluated by means of microsatellite markers and the results were compared with the results of pedigree analysis. Pedigree analysis showed the highest genetic diversity in the generation of founders (FOUNDERS). It decreased in the generation of founders' offspring (OFFSPRING 1; born in season 2007/2008), due to the fact, that the only male took part in the reproduction. And it increased again in the generation of offspring of founders' offspring (OFFSPRING 2; born in the season 2009/2010), because more individuals were included into the reproduction. Fifteen individuals and five polymorphic microsatellite loci (from the total number of 13 tested loci) were chosen for the genetic study. The parameters of genetic diversity (HE and HO, Ar and deviations from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium, and FIS and FST) were evaluated. Not any deviations from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium were found out. The results of genetic analysis confirmed the highest genetic diversity in the population of founders (Ar = 2.79; HE = 0.664; HO = 0.750; FIS = --0.154). In both generations of offspring values of allelic richness and observed and expected heterozygosity decreased (Ar = 2.15; HO = 0.580; HE = 0.586 in OFFSPRING 1 and Ar = 2.14; HO = 0.370; HE = 0.480 in OFFSPRING 2). Contrary to the results of pedigree analysis, there was not been observed any improvement in OFFSPRING 2. The resultant values of genetic diversity parameters were quite satisfactory, despite of the low number of founders and mating of related individuals.
