Harvesting of pine resin – historical overview and the possibility of future use
Bunda, Richard ; Štícha, Václav (advisor) ; Macků, Jan (referee)
Mining of resin represents a long forgotten ancient craft that used to be one of the most desirable crafts. The way of living was hard, just because the workers did not make much profit. Knowledge about this field was essential, and anyone who wanted to nurture this craft, had to pass a test of expertise. The resin was one of the finest raw materials in many different employment sectors. The resin had its place in the health sector, because it has medical effects, and it is used even nowadays, although not in such quantity as earlier. It is possible to prepare a range of medicinal products from the resin. Today, mining is classified as an extinct craft, but there are still fields that require the use of resin. It is possible that the forgotten craft will not remain forgotten forever.

Towards an Eco-inspired poetics of minimalist narrative
Kuzmičová, Anežka ; Pokorný, Martin (referee) ; Bílek, Petr (advisor)
What is a minimalist narrative, and what are its characteristic features? How do you identify one? For many critics, minimalist writing is a strictly historical notion - even though they at the same time, like John Barth does in his famous apologetics "A Few Words About Minimalism", paradoxically enough stress its ubiquitous nature throughout literature of all times. By narrative minimalism the American critic generally means the austere style of the novels and short stories of Raymond Carver, Amy Hempel, Mary Robison, Joan Didion, Ann Beattie. An American literary current of the 1970s mainly, devoted merely to the quotidian, descriptive, often reduced to what can be perceived from the outside of a human character. Thereby: the "dirty realism" or "K-mart realism". These derogatory labels tell us that the literary reviewer and critic of today still formulates his terms and judgments out of a hierarchically ordered, traditional presupposition of what a narrative text is and should be, working with a virtual model of balance between "form" and "content". Translated into the language of classical narratology: story discourse.

Performance Analysis of IBM POWER8 Processors
Jelen, Jakub ; Kešner, Filip (referee) ; Jaroš, Jiří (advisor)
This paper describes the IBM Power8 system in comparison to the Intel Xeon processors, widely used in today’s solutions. The performance is not evaluated only on the whole system level but also on the level of threads, cores and a memory. Different metrics are demonstrated on typical optimized algorithms. The benchmarked Power8 processor provides extremely fast memory providing sustainable bandwidth up to 145 GB/s between main memory and processor, which Intel is unable to compete. Computation power is comparable (Matrix multiplication) or worse (N-body simulation, division, more complex algorithms) in comparison with current Intel Haswell-EP. The IBM Power8 is able to compete Intel processors these days and it will be interesting to observe the future generation of Power9 and its performance in comparison to current and future Intel processors.

Tobacco, Tobacco Products and the Possibilities of Reducing Their Use
Petřík, Zbyněk ; Bártová, Jiřina (advisor)
The issue of the use of tobacco products is now no doubt a hot topic worldwide and especially in Europe, we are the last few years witnessed fundamental changes in the legislation of many countries on the tobacco control. Although today's situation resulted from day to day and " hotbed " for change societal perceptions of tobacco consumption actually were born since the 50th 20th cent. , after all in terms of global -scale changes relatively quickly and therefore often brings considerable controversy. The area of public health , I chose as my topic thesis for several reasons. The first is my longtime interest of addiction in general - in high school , I engaged in various extensive works of this field. Another factor is certainly closer to the issue Tobacco stemming from long-term cooperation with Czech Coalition against Tobacco . thanks her work for more than two years as a consultant on line for smoking cessation and I have been on several other projects of the association ( eg, preventive programs for elementary schools or support actions for employees smoke- enterprises). Finally, he played the role of a simple fact that smoking is now the most important preventable cause of premature death and medical point of view, therefore, this phenomenon has a special status and yet it seems that the topic...

SPECT brain perfusion in differential diagnosis of dementias
Černáková, Petra ; Lang, Otto (advisor)
The topic of the thesis , the preparation and defense of a place in the classroom Preventive Medicine in the sixth year , we chose at the beginning of the fifth year , without We at that time could imagine what all prevention can be, and how interesting Questions may be addressed. Many of us , myself included , to prevent at the time represented as uninteresting medical discipline, and it led to my decision to choose at any cost Clinical topic though their selection was very limited. Today, after completing training preventive medicine, I can honestly say that this subject interested me and that I and a number of my classmates have changed your mind and if I opted topic today , I was not afraid to take is one of the preventive -oriented topics. Why I chose the topic but Perfusion brain scintigraphy in the differential diagnosis of dementia , which sounds terrible not only for a number of lay people, but also for some of my classmates ? This led me to several motives , as well the fact that I like neurology and seriously thinking about future career as a neurologist , then it that unlike many of my peers have no resistance to the elderly and I have personal experience a demented patient in their own family and not least in my time completely minimal knowledge of nuclear medicine , which I hoped that within...

Experience of teenagers with sexting.
MILTNEROVÁ, Kristýna
This thesis is dedicated to the sexting, which has in recent years concentrated mainly among teenagers. The theoretical part is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is devoted to the Internet, since the communication path is widely used to send sexting photos. In chapter 1.1 Internet we can find some introductory words about what the internet is, how it works and especially the dangers to users of this media lurking, if you' re not careful about how you treat the information about yourselves. The second part focuses on the very phenomenon of sexting. This gives us the opportunity to learn basic information about it and realize that this isn´t just about sending sexual photos, and that this behavior often brings a negative experience that can individually affect the psyche of each person. The work is also focused on cyberbullying and cybersex, because of this issue is very close to sexting. The third chapter deals with sexting and child pornography. This section summarizes the most important facts about child pornography and I focus here to show that sexting may be in some ways a synonym of the distribution of child pornography. The aim of the work itself is to find out what teenagers know about sexting, if they know this term and what experience, if there are any, have they with sexting. This research utilized qualitative strategies, method of interviewing and technique of semi-structured interview. The sample consisted of nine children, who were from several cities in the Czech Republic and for their selection I chose the technique of not-empiric choice, snow-ball. The first part of the interview deals with the ownership of a cell phone and a personal account on social network. These data are important for research in this area, because the cell phone and the internet, resp. social networks are most widely used by modern means of communication that is used for sending photos. The second part of the interview deals with fundamental questions about sexting, if children know the term and if they perceive any risks that could stem from this behavior. The third part of the interview is about concrete experiences with sexting. I tried to find out if sexting children have personal experience and if they don´t, how they view those who actively sext. The summary shows that children today know what sexting is, even though they often don´t know it as sexting. From the research that I conducted, indicates that children usually use for taking photos of themselves naked cell phone, that is also the main resource to load this photos on the internet, especially on the Facebook page. Children who are sexting, do not know or realize risks and send photos again. Children who don´t do sexting are aware of the risks, and they don´t want to do this. With my work I would like to contribute actively to increase public awareness of the phenomenon and in particular I would like to appeal to parents, teachers and other adults to don´t take this phenomenon easy and take care about teenagers so that they never had to deal with the consequences that may sending sexual pictures cause

The Utilisation of the Feldenkrais Method in patients with backache without radicular irritation
HOUSKOVÁ, Marcela
I chose the topic The Utilisation of the Feldenkrais Method in patients with backache without radicular irritation for my bachelor thesis. The method bears the name of its author Moshé Feldenkrais, who started to develop his conception after his own injury during the Second World War. Feldenkrais Method of somatic education is an approach employing the process of learning by means of movement. It is based on presumption that a human being has four basic constituents: feelings, thinking, sensual perception and movement, which are present to each human action, and which interact with one another, which results in the fact that influencing of one constituent causes changes in the others. The method has two basic approaches: group lessons Awareness Through Movement and Functional Integration. Backaches are now classified among so called ?civilisation diseases?, which is mostly given by today?s life style ? sedentary jobs, stress, lack of movement, which lead to numerous improper stereotypes leading later to pain occurrence. The spine and back in general, which are the most loaded parts in terms of posture maintenance against gravity are usually the first to be affected by chronic pain. Back pains are said to be the most frequent cause of inability to work. The thesis is structured in two parts. The theoretical part mainly deals with the Feldenkrais Method. At the beginning I introduce the author by his brief biography explaining the process of the conception development. Then I describe the principles and basic elements of the method like self-awareness, somatognosia, organic learning. Chapters containing indications and contraindications, possibilities and course of education in the field of Feldenkrais Method follow. The next part informs on two basic teaching methods, which are a group form ?Awareness Through Movement? and individual ?Functional Integration?, where I compare the first one with conventional exercises and the latter with classic manual techniques. In the last part dedicated to the Feldenkrais Method I am trying to outline the possibilities of applying Feldenkrais Method to chronic pain treatment. The following chapter of the theoretical part deals with the phenomenon of pain. In the last part I summarize the most frequent causes and consequences of backache and their schematic categorisation. The practical part contains the goals of the thesis, methodology description, research sample characteristic and the research results processed in the form of case studies. Quantitative research method was chosen for data collection and processing. Two patients with pains in cervical, respective lumbar spine were chosen. Anamnesis was taken from the patients and basic physiotherapeutic examination, which is recorded in the input and output kinesiological analyses, was performed. The research results aren´t so significant because of small testing group, but in my opinion the Feldenkrais Method might become a part of therapy for chronic pain treatment, as both the patients subjectively perceived improvement after the exercises, which is also obvious from objective examination recorded in the output kinesiological analysis. The fact that the research was based on just a small sample of probands however does not enable us to generalize the results. Remarkable improvement of perception and awareness of own body and work with it occurred in both the women, which was obvious on improved breath stereotype and mastering of localized breathing, which had been a big problem for both the patients before. Another improvement was in higher spine movement and particularly reduction of backache in both the patients. Improvement of psychical condition is surely another indicator of the method effectiveness.

Media Education in Kindergarten
PAPEŽOVÁ, Petra
Today's modern society use mass media on a daily basis as a modern way of communication. Lot of us can't imagine everyday life without them. They are surrendering us with non-stop flow of various informations. Everyday we spent a lot of time with media and sometimes we even don't realize, what risks are menacing us and others. Media are capable of manipulating with people without even noticing it by common population. They are influencing their opinions, behavior and thinking. Kids and teen-agers belong to the most threatened groups, because they can be easily manipulated. This group is not capable of realizing of influence of media on their behavior. Experts are pointing out on the influence, which they have on behavior and also on evolution process of personality. Since pre-school age kids are confronted with mass media frequently. They are not developmentally enough adult, so they cannot settle with traps, which are lurking on them, without help. That's why there is necessity to teach kids how to work properly with media and use informations delivered by them rationally. Importance of medial enlightenment consists in the fact, that when kids are exposed to the influence of media, which can be so great, that it can even cause mental disorder. Besides behavior, statements, opinions and world views are being influenced as well. That's why prevention is very important and this task could be fulfilled by medial education. When it will reach mental disorder, it is necessary to bring a team of experts and immediately start to work with affected children. There is special branch of pedagogy called etopedy, which is concerned with these problems. It's not engaged only in training and educating of children with mental disorders, but it's also looking for the reason, that causes this disorder. Its primary goal is to incorporate kid into society again and make sure, that it doesn't break social standards anymore. Etopedy doesn't work with child on it's own, but use help from other scientific branches like psychology, special pedagogy, patopsychology and many others.
