Quality of life assessment in the selected regions by the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA)

The diploma thesis aims to do a research into quality of life of the selected regions in the Czech Republic and so to identify strengths and weaknesses of the individual regions. The research is done by means of DEA method on the basis of chosen criterions. The DEA method determines the effectiveness of individual districts and so it shows the living standard. Moreover, the DEA method also suggests the way how to raise effectiveness in the case of inefficient regions. The thesis also focuses on strengths and weaknesses of production units, which comes out from the assessment itself. For the application of the model, economic and uneconomic indicators such as unemployment, work inability, criminality, air pollution and the apartments' costs were chosen. These indicators represent inputs. In outputs, there are density of the road network and average wages included. All data relates to the year 2010. The assessment itself is carried out via a special software Frontier Analyst.

Development of unemployment in the selected region

Thesis deals with the issue of unemployment in the selected region. It is a comprehensive analysis of unemployment in the Central Region, where they selected two districts with different unemployment. The first part of the thesis is focused on the theoretical explanation of the concept of unemployment and related topics. The second part is the development of a comprehensive development of unemployment in Central Bohemia and its individual districts selected indicators. Compared development of the Central Bohemian Region Czech average. There they are also elaborated in detail two districts in the region with the lowest and highest number of unemployed persons (Prague - East and Pribram) from 2008 to 2015. The analysis includes the following characteristics collectively, including their development and structure. The output of the analysis are proposed economic policy measures and an estimate of the future development of unemployment.

Analasys of labour market in the region of Mladá Boleslav

This Bachelor thesis describes the evaluation of the labour market in the region of Mladá Boleslav. The theoretical part of this thesis includes the explanation of the key concepts in relation to the labour market. The practical part introduces the region of Mladá Boleslav and the charakteristic and care of employees of Škoda Auto a.s. as the biggest employer in the Czech Republic just as in the district of Middle Bohemia. In this second part is also the mainstay of the thesis - the developments assessment of labour market in the region of Mladá Boleslav in the time axis of year 2008 - 2014. The unemployment is judged by age, gender and by qualifications of job applicants. This thesis is also focusing on employment support from the side of employment office and the effect of Škoda Auto a.s. on the employment.

The impact of winter tourism on regional development: case study of Zarnovica district

Tourism contributes more and more to the economy of the states, which confirms also his 9% contribution to world GDP. Significant part of the tourism is also winter tourism represented by ski resorts. The main aim of this diploma thesis is to define relations of winter tourism in Slovakia, concretely in Zarnovica district and to determine its exact impacts on district. The nuance of the diploma thesis is to evaluate impact of winter tourism on business subjects and also population. The partial aim is to evaluate operational effectiveness of ski resorts in district, which contribute to development of the region and to offer a relevant recommendations. The thesis is based on a combination of quality and quantity approaches. Comparison analysis with foreign countries is also used. Data are acquired from statistics of Statistical office of Slovak republic and from surveys, which are helpful in accomplishing set goal. In methodological point of view, there are going to be applied basic statistical approaches.

The economic uplift of the former political district Kaplice in the first half of the 20th century

The purpose of this paper is to describe the development of the economic life of the predefined region of the former South Bohemian political district Kaplice in the first half of the 20th century. The area of this territory was different than it is today. This district was formed by three judicial districts, which were Kaplice, Vyšší Brod and Nové Hrady, which must first be properly geographically grasp. The greatest emphasis is placed on the work of electrification of the district focused way, took place. In this work, emphasis is also placed on the way the local people tried to accept or reject electricity. Since it was a very poor region, after the industry, we are dealing with the problem of depopulation of the region. These issues are also engaged. Furthermore, I am concerned with other economic activities so that people in this area, a minimum interest of investors able to sustain a culturally developed. Geographical research of the peripheral region of Kaplice with a focus on social capital

This diploma thesis deals with a geographical research of the peripheral region of Kaplice with the orientation on social capital. The administrative district of municipality is located in the southern part of South Bohemia in the district of Český Krumlov. The diploma thesis consists of two parts. The theoretical part concentrates on the terms like social capital, periphery and on the basic geographical characteristic of the monitored area. The subsequent practical part deals with the specific research that consists of the analysis of secondary data and survey. All acquired data are processed and presented in the form of tables and graphs with following evaluation and comparison of results with other similar researches.

The labour market in České Budějovice district in relation with education

This thesis deals with the labour market in České Budějovice district in relation with education. The first section provides basic theoretical background of the labour market followed by the issue of human capital, where education plays an important role. At the end of the first part, the current situation and possible developments of the labour market in the Czech Republic with relation to education are described. In the practical part, the introduced region is analyzed with respect to the labour market. Using a questionnaire survey distributed among companies of the region were obtained relevant data, which reflect the current situation of graduates at the local labour market. Finally, there is a multiple regression model, which is created based on testing a limited group of employees to determine, whether the investment in education is really profitable. At the end of this work, problem areas are defined and evaluated.
