Electrical transport properties of molecular materials for smart applications
Ivancová, Anna ; Vala, Martin (referee) ; Přikryl, Radek (advisor)
This master´s thesis deals with possibilities of application of new organic molecular materials for electronic devices. Nowadays it is a very attractive field of research, because of the tendencies in industry to miniaturize, reduce production costs and develop new, eco-friendlier, processes of production. The theoretical part of the thesis provides a short overview of organic materials suitable for smart applications and thin films issues including their characterization. The experimental part is dedicated to means how to prepare thin-film electronic components to silicon wafers for thin films field effect transistors. The obtained results in the last part of thesis are discussed about properties of prepared thin films, in the concrete about the electrical transport properties, in the connection with the condition of preparation.

Identification of species within \kur{Adelgidae} by molecular markers
VĚCHTOVÁ, Pavlína
Four molecular markers (nuclear ITS, EF1 alpha and mitochondrial AT-Rich and COI) were tested for use in species identification of Adelgidae family. Markers EF1 alpha and COI were successfuly amplified and sequenced. Aligned sequences of those two markers were used for reconstruction of dendrogram by Minimum Evolution method with Kimura 2-Parameter model. Comparison of dendrogram with assumptions based on morfology and biology of Adelgids confirmed suitability of chosen molecular markers for reliable resolution of taxonomic relationship within Adelgidae, although further testing and markers will be required to delineate sister species with higher precision.

Methodology of utilization of molecular-genetic markers of gene sequences and genetic elements in breeding and management of hop (Humulus lupulus)

Molecular machines are ubiquitous in living organisms where they manipulate and modify other molecules particularly DNA.

Uncoupling DNA restriction and DNA translocation functions of type I restriction modification enzyme ECOR124RI - a potential molecular motor
Šišáková, Eva ; Weiserová, Marie
Type I restiction enzymes are large, oligometric, multifunctional enzymes containing both restriction endonuclease and modification methyltransferase activities in a single molecule.

Diversity of Cryptosporidium spp. infecting rodents from subfamily Arvicolinae in the Czech Republic
HÁJKOVÁ, Ivana
Abstract In order to examine the prevalence of Cryptosporidium in wild Arvicolinae in the Czech Republic and understand the role that wild rodents play in the transmission of this parasite to humans and livestock, 152 faecal samples from 129 common voles (Microtus arvalis) and 23 bank voles (Clethrionomys glareolus) were collected on 9 localities in 2012. All samples were examined for presence of Cryptosporidium sp. using both the aniline-carbol-methyl violet staining method and molecular tools. The age, sex and faecal consistency were noted at the time of sampling. Microscopical examination revealed the presence Cryptosporidium sp. oocysts in 2 samples originated from common voles and 2 samples from bank voles. Genotyping was done through PCR amplification and characterization of the SSU rRNA and actin loci. Cryptosporidium specific DNA was detected in 10 samples (4 from common voles and 6 from bank voles) including those microscopically positive. Cryptosporidium infection was not linked to diarrhoea. Sequence and following phylogeny analyses revealed two new Cryptosporidium genotypes originated from bank voles and two new genotype from common vole, phylogeneticaly distinct from known species and genotypes. The host specificity needs to be verified by experimental infection in the future.

Pokroky v popisu termodynamických vlastností soustav obsahujících alkanoly
Aim, Karel ; Nezbeda, Ivo
Two lines of research dealing with the applications of the so called primitive models (of association) to describe the thermodynamic properties of alkanolic systems will be outlined, namely (i) molecular simulations for the water and methanol mixtures, and (ii) equation of state developments for the alkanol and carbon dioxide systems. Molecular simulations on water–methanol mixtures were performed by using primitive models that descend from realistic models of molecular interaction for both compounds. The results for both the excess mixing and partial molar properties of the system over the entire concentration range were compared with the molecular simulation results for the commonly accepted complex realistic models (effective pair-wise potentials) and with experimental data.

The possibility of using molecular markers to identify the commodities subject to CITES
HYNKOVÁ, Veronika
This thesis is focused primarily on the possibilities of using molecular markers to identify the commodities subject to CITES. Illegal trade with these articles is common even in the Czech Republic. Overview the most used methods could facilitate the fight against this kind of crime. Molecular markers are ideal for the identification of species and other taxonomic units, because unlike the morphological identification does not require intact specimens. DNA can be extracted from highly processed and degraded products which are commonly found on the market.
