Pavlíčková, Klára ; Doležalová, Jana (advisor) ; Neumann, Cyril (referee)
This thesis deals with hippotherapy of clients with cerebral palsy, it summarizes the information about suffering from cerebral palsy and the possibility of rehabilitation, focusing primarily on a hippotherapy. Cerebral palsy is a disease in which there is a growing number of patients suffering from this disease and it is expected to continue to rise. In the Czech Republic, there are between 16 000 - 20 000 disabled children who need regular rehabilitation care. CP is formed on the basis of pre-, peri- , postnatal factors , including factors like maternal infectious disease , low birth weight , premature or prolonged labor. CP has several forms, which define the type of the motor impairment and neuropathological estimated location of the lesion. The basic division is spastic and non - spastic forms that continue to divide. Disability in itself does not hide a disability motor character, but is often associated with epilepsy, mental retardation, speech disorders, orthopedic complications and others. During treatment, we must take into account the fact that the same diagnosis does not mean the same treatment method therefore, there is a need for an individual approach to each. The most important component of comprehensive rehabilitation is a medical rehabilitation, particularly methods of physiotherapy. An appropriate additional treatment method is undoubtedly hippotherapy. Hippotherapy uses a three-dimensional movement of the horseback to the transmission of pulses into the patient s body. A riding patient can sit and lie in the direction against the direction of travel. Hippotherapy is suitable for all ages, it is appropriate to initiate therapy in infancy, starting from 2-3 months. Hippotherapy affects gross motor function, reduces spasticity, helps improve walking, and generally strengthens the deep stabilization system. It has great influence on the psychic of the patient area. The patient is motivated and works better, learn to communicate and establish relationships, not only with the horse, but also with a therapist. Currently, interest is increasing in hippotherapy from parents of children and clients. This produces more new centres dealing with hippotherapy.

Šámalová, Magdaléna ; Chaloupková, Helena (advisor) ; Machová, Kristýna (referee)
This bachelor thesis provides a comprehensive overview of the impact of Animal assisted activity and therapy on the children with autism (especially to the quality of their lives). All the information included in this thesis are obtained from the latest sources. Animal assisted activity and therapy is a therapeutic approach based on the interaction between human and animal. Even though the nomenclature in the field of animal assisted activity and therapy is not yet fully solved, many studies indicate that this approach has a positive impact on patients with psychic, psychosomatic and somatic disorders. Animal assisted activity and therapy finds its applications in many fields, for example in psychology, psychiatry, social pedagogy and so on. Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder may be positively affected by animal assisted activity and therapy. Studies show that improvement of the quality of some aspects of their lives can be achieved by contact with dogs, horses, guinea-pigs and some other animals. Because positive impact has been reported for many different kinds of animals, animal assisted activity and therapy has become popular supportive therapeutic technique ant its popularity is still increasing. The therapy is focused mainly on social behavior and communication abilities. Even though we still do not have sufficient experience with this approach and also have to deal with many problems such as insufficient number of patients with the same diagnose or biased measurements, the results are optimistic and the number of studies dealing with this approach is increasing.

Hipotherapy in children with cerebral palsy
Kupková, Vendula ; Svobodová, Ivona (advisor) ; Lenka, Lenka (referee)
This bachelor thesis represents the summary of knowledge gained both in the Czech Republic and worldwide, concerning the use of hippotherapy at the healing process of cerebral palsy at children. The method itself is described in the summary of several studies, suggesting the effect of hippotherapy on cerebral palsy infliction. The thesis consists of three parts. The first part deals with the characteristic of cerebral palsy as a neuromuscular disease with a variety of etiology and pathogenesis being the cause of movement and posture disorders. The second part is focused on the hippotherapy as a unique therapeutic method using a specific element - the movement of a walking horse´s back. The patient is influenced in three levels - frontal, saggital and transversal. The stimuli are transmitted onto the patient with the effect on their central nervous system. Subsequently the central nervous system becomes adapted to the horse´s back deflection and a new motoric pattern is fixed. The healing proces of cerebral palsy at children is described in several studies that are presented. These are completed by factors that have their specific influence on the hippotherapeutic unit. The thesis is concluded by a text dealing with the issue of horses themselves. It suggests criteria that are important during the selection of horses suitable for hippotherapy such as breed, age and sex of horses and the morphology of the horse´s back and its motion. Last but not least the thesis also presents the basic knowledge of the general mechanics of horse motion that has an important influence on the motion of the horse´s back and thus the impact on the quality of the impulse transmittion onto the patient.

Factors affecting food preferences of primary school pupils
Fourová, Karolína ; Kouřimská, Lenka (advisor) ; Iva, Iva (referee)
In the Czech Republic and the whole world, the global prevalence of overweight children and child obesity is increasing. This situation may result in a continuation overweight or obesity until adulthood and development related diseases, social and psychological discomfort. Overweight in children and adolescents may have a variety of negative consequences, affecting not only quality of life, but also health in adulthood. These include, for example, osteoporosis, diabetes second type, obstructive sleep apnea, hypertension, dyslipidemia or metabolic syndrome, but also the psychological aspects. Skipping breakfast or snacks and the overall low frequency of eating is often associated with high consumption of sweetened beverages and foods, high in simple sugars and a large amount of fat, which affects the development of overweight and obesity. The creation of the principles of good eating and lifestyle is depending on lifestyle of the whole family in childhood or adolescence. The environment for eating, which is created by family and school, has positive effect on promoting healthy eating and it can contribute to reducing the obesity epidemic. This study presents evidence on the level of nutrition education for elementary school pupils in the Czech Republic. Confirmation of the hypothesis, which is based on the fact, that absence of breakfast and snacks in children eating habits leads to a higher frequency of purchases of energy-dense foods with inappropriate nutritional composition, should highlight the need for increased intervention in the topic of parent's and children's eating habits. Results should support the importance of regular meals and nutritional balanced home-made snacks in children's eating habits, which could reduce the percentage of overweight and obese children and also the percentage of obese adults in future.

Possibilities and limits of play therapists psychological support to hospitalized children
Vitoušová, Libuše ; Horáková Hoskovcová, Simona (referee) ; Šturma, Jaroslav (advisor)
In this dissertation I tried to introduce play work and job of play specialists. Play work is used to treat children's and their parent's emotional and behavioral problems. Play therapists do never act as nurse or doctor. Their job is to guide child and its parents throw hospitalization, communicate with them, and be present to help them solve their problems or answer their questions. They also act as communication bridge between doctors and clients. In my research I was interviewing thirteen therapists to get information about their opinions, needs, and experiences, based on their work. All of the specialists agreed that they see their work as meaningful, feeling it's helpful for clients. They all have very good work motivation. To cover their needs, they would like to have more education, supervisory control, consultation, and trainings. They feel possible problems in following up those needs, to find own position in the work team, sometimes even communicating with children or parents. In spite of that they can feel satisfaction with their work and social support, and also feel positive feedback about their job. There is very good cooperation between specialists.
