Decoding Barcode in Image in Real Time
Krupa, Martin ; Kajan, Rudolf (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to describe barcodes used in real world applications and to create application for real time detecting and decoding of chosen barcodes using computer vision. Normal linear barcode is first introduced, and then two dimensional matrix barcode is described with focus on its origin, usage and structure. Especially the process of localization, encoding and decoding of QR Code, which is chosen for future use in work, is described mainly. Also briefly description of computer vision and OpenCV library is available. Next the concept and implementation of application for localization and recognition of QR Codes is described. Finally description of testing, evaluation of thesis and ways of improvements are discussed.

Advanced QR-Code reader for Android
Kubík, Martin ; Přinosil, Jiří (referee) ; Šmirg, Ondřej (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis was to created application for detection and decoding QR codes using devices with the Android Operating System. For preprocessing of the visual field camera is used OpenCV library. Designed preprocessing string searches a perspective transforms possible QR codes. This is suppressed a shape distortion QR code that would otherwise reduce the successful decoding. At the same time the preprocessing string applied unsharp mask, which reduces the effect of motion blur image caused by the camera motion. Thus preprocessing scene is finally decoded using ZXing library. Described manner it is possible to achieve a higher success rate detection and decoding of QR codes than other conventional QR readers.

The issue of mobilization of seniors in communication in nursing care Homes for the elderly
KLOUDOVÁ, Martina
Basic theoretical standpoints: This Dissertation has been focused on problems on functional changes and illnesses in old age and seniors' activation. An aging of the population is constantly growing in developed countries of which could be deducted naturally increasing interest in this issue. Health care staff is confronted with greater number of elderly people thus as very important aspects are the ability of nurses to recognize their needs and to look at the old age as a natural part of human life. The support of seniors' self-care and their activation should be the main objective of health care staff. Aims of the Dissertation: Three aims were identified to find out specific problems of nursing care with communications between the nurse and the elderly, to examine options of their activation such as a prevention of communications barriers and lastly to discover nurses' knowledgeable regarding the seniors' activation in the context of effective leadership communication. Following research questions for these targets were established: What are the most common problems that nurses deal with regarding the activation in communication in nursing care homes for elderly? What are the possibilities of seniors' activation as prevention of complications in communications in nursing care homes for elderly? What the nurses' skills are regarding seniors' activation in communications in nursing care homes for elderly? Methodology: This Dissertation "Problems of seniors' activation in the context of nursing care communication in nursing care homes for elderly" is composed according to qualitative research method laid out in two parts. The first one, data collection was implemented by depth semi-structured interviews with nurses from nursing care homes for elderly. The exact transcription of the interviews were analysed by open-coding technique, codes were sorted into categories a arise subcategories, arranged into clear diagrams. Covert surveillance method was used as a second part of this research. Those records were entered into the observation chart and then subsequently described. The research took place from 12th February to 20th April 2015. Results: This research shows that all nurses know specific problems of communication with seniors in the context of their care in nursing care homes for elderly, who are also psychologically stressful for them. It also shows that greater number of nurses deemed seniors' activation as activation programs only provided by nursing care homes for elderly. The elderly, according to some senior nurses, are due to deterioration of their mental or physical condition without any activation. Almost all nurses are educated in the seniors' activation and communication by seminars and lectures organized by nursing care homes for elderly which are paid by the employer. All nurses considered their education in activation and communication area as a contribution to increase knowledge and improve nursing care. During this second phase was found that four out of ten nurses performed almost the entire care of the morning hygiene for seniors without their help. Some of the nurses neglected to ask whether seniors would wish to perform their own hygiene without their help. Therefore four nurses do not activate seniors during the morning hygiene and some nurses communicate with seniors inappropriately. Conclusion:We think that nurses should have more education in activation and communication area. Their education will mainly bring theoretical knowledge that helps them to deal with problematic situation in nursing care for elderly. The outcome of this Dissertation was meeting with head nurses from nursing care homes for elderly where we presented our results gained by this research. They promised to consult it with rest of the nurses and to implement other seminar on seniors activation with communication.

RSS reader application for iOS
Nováček, Stanislav ; Vojíř, Stanislav (advisor) ; Hradil, Jiří (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to develop an iOS application, an RSS reader mobile application with some social aspects and it's publication on the App Store. This thesis can also serve as inspiration when creating similar applications for iOS devices and enclosed source code can also serve as a practical study material. There are two parts of this thesis - the theoretical part and the practical part. In the theoretical part, the reader is provided with an overview of mobile development and mobile platforms. Moreover, there are mentioned new features of iOS 8, things needed for iOS development, a brief overview of Objective-C and Swift programming languages and web syndication and RSS & Atom formats characterized. In the practical part, there is the development of the RSS reader application which is based on using Feedly cloud services. Next there is a description of the features and functionality, the user interface, some topics of implementation are tackled and there is a list of third party libraries that are used in the application. Some marketing strategies and support is described in the last few pharagraphs of this part of the thesis.

Kódování a efektivita LDPC kódů
Kozlík, Andrew ; Drápal, Aleš (advisor) ; Holub, Štěpán (referee)
Low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes are linear error correcting codes which are capable of performing near channel capacity. Furthermore, they admit efficient decoding algorithms that provide near optimum performance. Their main disadvantage is that most LDPC codes have relatively complex encoders. In this thesis, we begin by giving a detailed discussion of the sum-product decoding algorithm, we then study the performance of LDPC codes on the binary erasure channel under sum-product decoding to obtain criteria for the design of codes that allow reliable transmission at rates arbitrarily close to channel capacity. Using these criteria we show how such codes are designed. We then present experimental results and compare them with theoretical predictions. Finally, we provide an overview of several approaches to solving the complex encoder problem.

Distance measurement using sensors of mobile phone
Hubr, Ivo ; Endrle, Pavel (referee) ; Lattenberg, Ivo (advisor)
Distance and the associated parameters can be measured by specific sensors mobile device. Introduction The work focuses on the description of the sensors and the effects on their accuracy. To measure the distance, there is a number of good practices, which were described and demonstrated the application implemented source code for the Android platform. The project works with a total of three sensors, namely accelerometer, magnetometer and camera. The main objective of this work is the definition and application of methods for measuring distance using the appropriate sensors.

Automatic recognition of the electrometer status from picture
HANZLÍK, Ondřej
This thesis deals with problems of recognition of an electrometer´s state from sensing image. It is tangibly about electrometer´s scanning by a mobile phone´s camera. There is a surface with an electrometer´s dial which is detected and on this surface the particular numbers are detected consequently. The numbers are recognized via neural network. For more information from this image there are used some techniques of image segmentation to check the status. For the classification of the segmentation´s outputs are used classification tools, especially a support vector machine (SVM) and neural networks. Problems of image segmentations are solved by using OpenCV library. OpenCV is used for the implementation of the vector machine either. Application is on Android platform. Part of the thesis is concerned in a creation of a desktop application which is instrumental towards testing of neural network. The thesis also describes how to save the necessary data gathering in the course of the recognition which are used for working with neural network. The part of the thesis also deals with running web which will be evolved for the opportunity to participate in the further development of the system. There is available a public repository with source codes created during implementation.
