Project management in selected company

This work deals with project management in chosen company. It has two parts. The first part is theoretical, which is focused to theoretical treatment of the subject. It explains what is the project, management of projects, organizations of projects, processes of project management, what is target of project, communication, control, changes and risks and more. In the practical part I focused to concrete company and project management and than I analyzed concrete project. Name of the mentioned company is OHL ŽS, a.s. It is company from Spain, which acts all over the world. In the Czech Republic has the base in Brno. This company has several divisions and every of them is focused to different professional architecture. I have chosen division of structural engineering. This division builds all kinds of buildings. It could be construction of new buildings or reconstruction. To analysis of chosen project I used various business documents, contracts with investor or suppliers, document which include billing, timetable. I especially used my experience with projects of this company, and I was part of this project. Name of this project is Reconstruction of cladding including replacement windows and insulation. During the analysis of project I found a couple major gaps. If we could avoid these gaps, we could increase profit. These graphs is especially in management. At the beginning there were appointed two temporary construction managers. They doesn't care about result project, because they knew that they will not be to the end of the project. These gaps are because there is missing motivation system. Project manager can´t affect results of employees. It doesn´t depend on performance of employees, they always has the same wages. For elimination of these gaps I proposed several suggestions for improvement. The first suggestion is modification and extension of motivation system. New motivation system include personal evaluation. This evaluation depends on performance of employee. The second part is bonus from over profit. The next suggestion is make a new working position. This position would take care about controlling and project documentation. During the building project, especially at the end is construction manager very busy. It depend of decision of construction 63 manager what kind of activity will have prefer. Project documentation and administration or controlling of building works. If they are doing everything correct and technology are respect. Suggested position would take care about invoices, real work, which is done, project documentation, controlling of budget. The third suggestion is purchase of small machinery such as chipping hammers and drills. At this time they rent all devices. Rent is higher than purchase price. The last suggestion is use credit to restoration of fleet. At this time they have obsolete fleet, because the bought all cars by cash. It is not conveniently.

Controlling System and the Competitiveness of a Small Service Company

The bachelor thesis deals with evaluating the current system of controlling and analysing of the competitiveness of a selected small company in the South Bohemian region. The business subject of this company is to provide services in the real estate industry, whose aim is to satisfy its customers. The practical part contains more detailed description of the company, including its history with the present and depicts its management system. The methods used are Porter's five forces model, PEST and SWOT analysis and competition analysis. Porter's five forces model analyses the surrounding environment and examints competitiveness. PEST analysis is a simple and widely used tool that helps you analyse the Political, Economic, Socio-Cultural, and Technological changes in business environment. SWOT analysis deals with the external and internal environment. This theory describes the strengths and weaknesses of the chosen company, and its opportunities and threats. Competition analysis deals with the main competitors of company. The theoretical part applies these method. Finally, I made the proposals which help to increase competitiveness of company.

Processing and utilization of by-products of brewery operations for energy purposes

The diploma thesis called Processing and using of co-products from brewery for energetic purposes. The thesis concerns it self with analysis current situation on field of processing waste from brewery industry. The thesis is focused on possibility of using brewery waste for energetic purposes. The thesis is divided in to two parts. First part features literature research of the topic, using all available resources. Second part features real data from element analysis done on samples of brewery waste and calculation of main characteristics of brewery waste. All calculations concerns them self in using brewery waste like substitution for fossil fuel. Goal of second part of thesis also is evaluate possibility of using brewery waste to make brewing more efficient.

Comparison of Antivirus Software

This bachelor thesis focuses on comparison of selected anti-virus programs and subsequent choosing of the most suitable one for given computer.
The thesis consists of two major parts. The first part focuses on anti-viruses and malware, which are divided into various types. In addition to the anti-virus section there are topics which are covering things like anti-virus tools and mechanism, e.g. firewalls and heuristics. At the end of the theoretic part there are topics which are briefly touched upon, topics like hardware basics of every computer which are later on important for the actual testing parts.
The second major part of this thesis is about choosing the right attributes for ani-viruses, about choosing the right criteria for their future evaluation and finally the measurement of said criteria. The criteria that were chosen are thus: price, time it takes for video to be rendered in Sony Vegas Pro, time it takes for GPU benchmark to finish, time it takes for CPU benchmark to finish and finally the last criteria that was picked is the effectiveness against real-life threats. Anti-virus programs that were being evaluated are Eset Smart Security 9, Norton Security Deluxe, Avast! Internet Security and lastly Kaspersky Anti-Virus. The recorded values were converted into a point-based system, which allowed for clear and evident illustrations via graphs and charts. From the final graphs and charts I was able to recommend the most suitable anti-virus for given computer.

College Launching Business Plan

The topic of thesis is a business plan for the establishment of private universities. The aim is to propose a procedure for establishing a business and develop a real business plan for the launch and operation of the college. Individual work is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. Based on the literature describes the concepts of business, legal forms and business plan with all its parts and appurtenances. In the practical part there are the theoretical knowledge into practice. There is processed actual business plan. Part of the business plan are environmental analysis, financial planning, risk and business scenarios. Finally, we evaluated the results of the practical and possibly feasibility developed business plan. On the basis of the procedures, it is possible to determine whether the project is viable and can be profitable.

Application of project management methods in public administration

This thesis entitled "Application of project management methods in public administration" handles real project, which will be held in public administration, with the help of project management. The work describes what steps must be pursued must perform in order to make the investment plan, in this case, the construction of a new building that will serve as the sponsor registry.
The first part focuses on the explanation of the concepts of project management, dealing with specifying what the different terms mean and how they can be used in a practical direction. Along with these concepts also deals with the methods and principles that are used in project management. These include STEP analysis, which looks at what the external environment surrounding the subject and SWOT analysis, which in turn monitors the internal environment of the body. The work is also used and critical path method called. CPM and created hierarchical structure of WBS activity. The thesis also analyzes risk situations and procurement procedures and their financial value. The theoretical part serves as a basis for practical work.
The second part is focused on practical use of knowledge, which are described in the theoretical part. There is described by the entity itself, which will carry out the investment plan and what needs to prepare and arrange before the project will be successfully completed. STEP analysis and SWOT are the practical part applied to a particular subject and their conclusions are then made the decision that the construction is necessary or not. Other methods, ie. critical path method, hierarchical structure, operations and risk analysis methods are no longer aimed at the very beginning and the realization of the investment project. This summary is presented in the final part.

PPP projects in the Czech Republic

The thesis deals with the economic evaluation of the appropriateness or inappropriateness in securing the construction and operation of community infrastructure projects. It particularly assesses the economic advantages and disadvantages of the construction and subsequent operation of a kindergarten in the village of Kamenný Újezd, both in the form of classic public contracts, and as a PPP project. The work is based on the real costs as the above mentined project has already been realised. At the same time, this work marginally addresses the demographic curve and municipalities in this context, the fact that the community could predict the shortage of places in the kindergarten well in advance, and resolve the situation in another way. Performing an economic analysis found that in this particular case the form of PPP does not seem economically advantageous, since it does not provide a value for money to make this form more profitable for the municipality than a conventional public contract.

Effectiveness of selected investment on municipal level

The subject of this thesis is to evaluate the effectiveness of the investment project at the municipal level, which is building a center of social services in Jeseník. The theoretical part is focused on understanding the processes associated with investment decisions, financial analysis, financing sources and a list of major investment efficiency evaluation methods. The conclusion was devoted to possible risks of investment projects and their effective management.
The practical part applies theoretical knowledge to real investment project. Feasibility study has been processed focusing on market analysis, technological project, human resources, organizational management and financial analysis. Socio-economic effects are expressed using cost-benefit analysis. Evaluation of the effectiveness and sustainability of the project is based on the cash flow of financial analysis, indicators of economic analysis and risk analysis. Based on the results obtained from the research are formulated specific investment recommendations.

Molecular detection RYR1 gene mutation causing malignant hyperthermia in dogs

The theme of this work are methods for molecular detection of mutations in the dog genome causing malignant hyperthermia.
The work is divided into two main parts. The first part is a literary research summarizing knowledge about malignant hyperthermia from the human and veterinary anesthesiology molecular biology and genetics. The second part of the work describes the methodology and conclusions drawn from the molecular detection of above mentioned mutation which was conducted in the laboratory of the Department of genetics.
The literary research deal with malignant hyperthermia syndrome. The aim is to familiarize with symptomatic manifestations triggers the mechanisms the development of acute malignant hyperthermia and its clinical diagnosis. The first cases of observation of malignant hyperthermia syndrome are also described as well as the history of the research which led to a detailed description of this disease in humans dogs and other species bearing malignant hyperthermia causing mutation.
The next part of literary research is a summary of knowledge about the mechanism of mutation the detection of sequences containing this mutation and influence on the arrangement of proteins in the ryanodine receptors.
For the last part of literary research commonly used laboratory techniques of non invasive mutation detection were chosen. These techniques are mostly used by accredit genetics laboratories. Listing of Czech laboratories performing diagnostic of gene RYR1 mutation is also contained.
Experimental part of barchelors thesis is focussed on molecular marker optimalization for casual mutation in RYR1 gene detection by technique of restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR RFLP). This technique was apply to 338 deputies of different dog breeds. Accomplished analysis did not confirm presence of the mutated allele in assessed breeds population. Result of PCR RFLP technique was confirmed by sequence analysis.
Results were discussed with literary sources which did not judge real breeds but are developing a model special bred line with presumed mutated allele segregation. The results indicated that the mutation of gene RYR1 do not represent an influential disorder in breeds harbored in Czech Republic. Sporadic presence of this mutation was consulted with commercial genetic laboratories.

Business plan for a selected company

Topic of my Bachelor thesis is creation of business project for selected company.
The company is real and is called Bário s.r.o. The goal of this thesis is to analyze gathered
data and then prepare business plan for this company.
In first theoretical part are explained terms connected to entrepreneurship
as well as methods of financial and situational analysis.
In second part of this thesis are the theoretical methods, previously explained, applied
to the business. Thanks to these methods is created SWOT analysis. Thanks
to the SWOT analysis strategies can be prepared. These strategies are then consulted with
the business management and as a result business plan is created.
