Changes of the attitude of a nurse towards the nursing care after his/her ranging to a higher position.
PROCHÁZKOVÁ, Marie
The Thesis deals with a change of an approach of a nurse to nursing care provision after her promotion to a managerial position. A nurse appointed to the position of charge or head nurse has different responsibilities, she becomes a manager, her colleagues have suddenly become her subordinates, whose work she has to organize, lead and control. A wide range of new responsibilities might change her approach to provision of nursing care. The aim of the Thesis was to discover whether and how the approach of a nurse to nursing care changes when she is appointed to a managerial position and how a nurse promoted to a managerial position achieves authority among her subordinates. The following hypotheses were chosen in relation to the aims of the Thesis. Hypothesis 1: The approach of a nurse to nursing care changes after being promoted to a managerial position. Hypothesis 2: A nurse promoted to a managerial position requires provision of nursing care in line with nursing standards. Hypothesis 3: A nurse promoted to a managerial position is responsible for nursing care quality. Further research questions were put: 1. Is it difficult for a nurse promoted to a managerial position to achieve authority among senior nurses? 2. Is it difficult for a nurse promoted to a managerial position to control nursing care provided by shift nurses? 3. Is it easier for a nurse promoted to a managerial position to organize work for shift nurses she did not work with before? Quantitative research in the form of questionnaires was applied to confirmation or refutation of the hypotheses. The research sample consisted of head and charge nurses from South Bohemian hospitals and from hospitals in Příbram and Pelhřimov. Qualitative research was organized in the form of unstructured interviews with head nurses from Hospital České Budějovice. After evaluation of the results all the three hypotheses showed confirmed. The research results confirm that an approach of a nurse changes after their promotion to a managerial position. They are much more responsible for quality work among her subordinates. The results of the work will be presented at all-house seminars and conferences and published in a specialized journal. The results will also be provided to the hospital management {--} to the Nursing Care Manager {--} and finally to the respondents involved in the research.

Comparison of forest stands on afforested agricultural vs. continuously forested soil
Květoň, David ; Podrázský, Vilém (advisor) ; Jiří, Jiří (referee)
There are many differences between environment of woodlands on afforested agricultural lands and continuously forested soils. These differences are able to persist for many years after afforestation. It is anticipated differences in the growth and condition of these stands. This thesis deals with these differences and aims to compare them. There were compare differences between spruce stands and larch stands and differences between thickness of overlying humus in four plots of the size 0,25 ha, in the area laying near to village Brložec, in region of Karlovy Vary. Results moreless confirm a greater production of both species of trees on former agricultural lands, they indicate greater production potential of larch compared with spruce and they clearly show thicker humus to continuously forested areas.

Comparison of mollusc fauna from selected natural reserves on southern Moravia
Bohatá, Lucie ; Vrabec, Vladimír (advisor) ; Jan, Jan (referee)
In this thesis is compared mollusc fauna of six protected areas on the south of Moravia, with characteristic and appraisal of their condition. These protected areas belong to control of BR Lower Moravia and almost all of them belong under control of CHKO Pálava: NPR Cahnov Soutok, NPR Křivé jezero, NPP Pastvisko u Lednice, NPR Ranšpurk, NPR Slanisko u Nesytu, EVL Trkmanské louky. Tested hypothesis was, whether reserves with prevailing of forest cover evince richer faun compare to reserves with prevailing of open space. Mollusc fauna was collected by individual picking with the aid of flush solid material through strainer and off take of forest soil. Subsequently collected material was inspected in detail, sorted out and determined. Information about discovered species was compared with the aid of Simpson´s index of domination and Jaccard´s index of similarity and recorded to tables. The biggest index of diversity has NPR Ranšpurk and the lowest has NPR Slanisko u Nesytu according to Simpson´s index. It means that community of molluscs from NPR Ranšpurk is covered same amount of specimen determined species, while on NPR Slanisko u Nesytu was discovered dominance of vulnerable species Anius spirobis (Linné, 1758). According to Jaccard´s index of similarity is the most similar (31%) reserve NPR Křivé jezero and NPR Slanisko u Nesytu and the worst similar (8%) are reserves NPP Pastvisko u Lednice and EVL Trkmanské louky. Hypothesis was confirmed on the grounds of number of species determined on collected stations and Simpson´s index with bigger diversity on reserves with prevailing of forest cover. According to Jaccard´s index of similarity are forest areas and open areas similar with 66%. The high similarity is consequence of abiotic factors, which influence inspected areas in reserves.

Cardiac Surgical Patient in the RES Room and the Approach of a Nurse to Nursing Care
KAFKOVÁ, Zuzana
In the past years, the cardiac surgery performance was very demanding. The limited range of medical performances, imperfect procedures and techniques resulted in frequent postoperative complications and high postoperative mortality. Over time, surgical techniques, heart replacements, extracorporeal circulation and postoperative care have improved. This makes it possible today to operate on much older patients, where surgeries previously were nor feasible. The diploma thesis on the topic Cardiac surgical patient in the RES room and the approach of a nurse to nursing care is dedicated to the patient after heart surgery. It deals with meeting the patient's needs in the RES room and what the patient perceives while staying in the resuscitation unit and what he /she needs from a nurse. In the empirical part of this thesis two objectives were stated. To determine what a cardiac surgical patient perceives and what he /she needs in the RES room, and to find out whether it is possible to improve the quality of patient-oriented care. Based on these objectives, hypotheses and research questions were established. The objectives were successfully achieved, the hypothesis was confirmed and the questions answered. The research was conducted using qualitative quantitative research methods in the RES units of the cardiac surgery department, where the patients with heart disease are operated on. For the quantitative research the questionnaire interview method was selected. The qualitative research method was used to carry out semi-conducted interviews with the patients.

The nursing care for the patients with "diabetic leg" after using SONOCA 180 in combination with the damp healing technic
VÍTÁMVÁSOVÁ, Kateřina
Abstract The Bachelor Thesis ?Treatment for ?diabetic foot? after application of SONOCA 180 apparatus in combination with wet healing technique? is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part analyses the development of wound healing from history to present. It also describes diabetes mellitus disease, its classification and complications. The issue of diabetic foot syndrome we are dealing with in the Thesis is related to diabetes mellitus. The disease may be treated traditionally or applying modern methods, which include the ultrasound apparatus SONOCA 180 and wet healing of wounds. This ultrasound technique combined with wet healing of wounds is the main topic of our thesis. The practical part involved a qualitative research method ? semi-controlled interview and case studies of patients with diabetic angiopathy, who were treated by the SONOCA 180 apparatus combined with wet healing of wounds. We applied the method to a patient with diabetic angiopathy, who had been treated traditionally. We first prepared the case studies and then we talked to them about selected topics. We prepared 14 questions that directed our interviews. Patients hospitalized at the surgery ward or visiting the surgery outpatient room of České Budějovice Hospital were the respondents; we spoke to 4 patients A semi-controlled interview was conducted with 5 nurses of the surgery ward of České Budějovice Hospital. The interview consisted of 10 questions and dealt with the topics of diabetic foot syndrome treatment, SONOCA 180 ultrasound method combined with wet healing of wounds. The aim of the work was to discover the effect of SONOCA 180 application in combination with wet healing on treatment of wounds. The second goal was to find out the differences in healing after standard treatment and after application of this technique and to find out the opinion of patients on the technique. The research among the respondents showed that SONOCA 180 greatly contributes to healing of wounds, but it has individual effect on each patient. SONOCA 180 provided quicker healing of wounds than the traditional method, but the treatment as a whole also depends on the patient?s health condition, the appearance of the treated defect and the phase of healing. Our Thesis might serve in practice as a guide for closer familiarization with the SONOCA 180 apparatus in combination with wet healing of wounds and thus provide the clients with the diabetic foot syndrome with more information on this method, and medical staff with wider knowledge of this new technique. This is why a brochure (Annex 15) was prepared to inform patients and medical staff on the SONOCA 180 apparatus and wet healing of wounds.

The role of immune cells in tumor growth and spontaneous regression in a rat sarcoma model
Kovalská, Jana ; Chmelíková, Eva (advisor) ; Anna, Anna (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to study differences between sexes of rats in tumour growth, the difference in immune response between rats with progressing and spontaneously regressing tumours compared to control rats and verification of immunological memory. We used Lewis rat model with subcutaneously inoculated sarcoma. Peripheral blood of males showed a higher number of red blood cells, a higher concentration of haemoglobin and higher haematocrit compared to females. Experimental females with inoculated sarcoma had higher levels of CD161 (NK) cells at the beginning of experiment in comparison with the experimental and control males and control females. A strong infiltration of NK cells was observed in tissue sections of spontaneously regressing sarcoma compared to progressing tumours tissue. Important factors that can influence if the animal will show tumour progression or spontaneous regression are neutrophil granulocytes (they can induce both tumour-supporting and anti-tumour response), vascularization and extent of necrosis in tumour tissue. We have verified immunological memory in a small group of females by the secondary inoculations of the same tumour cells after complete disappearance of primary, spontaneously regressing tumour. No sarcoma repeatedly evolved in any of the females. Results obtained in the present work brought new insights into the problems of tumour in the Lewis rat sarcoma model with inoculated sarcoma. These results may have significance also for area of clinical oncology due to similarities with the behaviour of some human cancers.

The comparison of digital terrain model sources in GIS for hydrological purposes
Klempíř, Hynek ; Bašta, Petr (advisor) ; Gdulová, Kateřina (referee)
This thesis deals with comparsion of digital terrain models from different sources processed in GIS for hydrological purposes. The diploma thesis is composed from several parts. First part sis consist of characteristics related to watershed and water flow, which are important for the understanding this work. The thesis also describes digitial terrain model, his creation and methods for obtainig digitial models. Then, there are described data sources from which is possible to gain digitial models. Next chapter is dedicated to the coordinate system. The last parts of this thesis describes drain alghorithms. Characteristic of this area was collected on experimental watershed Modrava II with the ESRI ArcGIS Desktop software that would mainly Spatial Analyst and ArcHydro extensions. The results of this diploma thesis can be concluded that the free digital terrain model SRTM 90 is not suitable for small regions with diverse terrain structure. Thereason is a small resolution model. Other terrain models provided free of chargé are sufficient even for small areas as the selected area of interest. Paid digitial models can al lbe established for the area of interest as appropriate.
