GEOReminder for N900

This work deals with a design of an application for the mobile device Nokia N900, which enables the planning of a set of actions, which shall be carried out in a predefined region. The region or specific position is defined by the user based on the coordinates of the GPS system. Upon reaching of the target location a set of actions, which is defined when creating the notification, is carried out. The work describes the theory of the mobile device and the options of obtaining the position of such a device. A description of the implementation of the application follows, where the method and the graphical user interface are described. In the conclusion of the work, the achieved results and a proposal for continuation of the work are summarised.

Tour Routes Sharing Server

The bachelor thesis describes design and implementation of the application which can share hiking routes between several users. Thesis also explains related terms and technologies used during the implementation. Final application can present routes including all avaiable informations visualized by using multiple map canvases. Routes can be searched by various criterias, merged and exported into KML files. The system uses functions of extension PostGIS of the PostgreSQL database, algorythm of the Haversine's formula and some own algorithms.

Geocaching Support on Pocket PCs with GPS

Modern technologies of pocket computers (personal digital asistents, PDA) and navigation systems - how to combine them to have a fun? This is the question, that this work tries to answer. In the first few chapters, the work informs reader about the GPS technology, about Geocaching stash hunting game and about technology of pocket computers. A Concept and implementation of WMGeo program, which could be the Geocaching solution for the PocketPC, is presented.

Differential GPS

This master’s thesis is the design of the system of the differential GPS, creation of the software for basic wireless communication between 2 GPS receivers, and practical tests of the designed system. Parameters and characteristics of system were determined and they should inform us better about the appropriateness of the designed system for navigation of a mobile robot in outside conditions.
