Selected modern trends in internal combustion engines
REJTHAR, Jakub
This bachelor thesis focuses on combustion engines especially on four-stroke spark-ignition engines and their current modern trends such as downsizing, variable valve timing, start-stop system, hybrid and hydrogen drive in the automotive industry. The first part of the thesis is a brief description of the history of combustion engines, their basic distribution and key parts which the engine is designed together with a cooling, electric and suction system from. The second part describes modern trends, their use and subsequent application in passenger cars.
Klasické a alternativní pohony motorových vozidel
Widholm, Tomáš
This thesis is focused on the classic and alternative drives of cars. First part of the thesis deals with history and present of classic combustion engines. Next part is focused on the environmnetal effect of classic engine cars and alternatively driven cars. The end of this thesis is focused on concrete alternative drives. First part are gas drives, hydrogen drives and fuels cells. Further the thesis deals with electromobiles and finally hybrid drives, because they are widespread today. These chapter describes their functions and introduces the necessary components. The end of the chapters includes positives and negatives of each drive, together with its valuation. The end of the thesis inculudes some examples of production hybrids, together with their parameters.
BMW Up-to-date SI-engines
Šroba, Roman ; Prokop, Aleš (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
The Bachelor’s thesis deals with modern BMW spark-ignition engines. It provides an overview of current automotive design solutions in gasoline engines. The work is focused on three main areas. The first part describes the latest and unconventional technologies used in current BMW spark-ignition engines. The second part is focused on design solutions in specific aggregates, their evaluation or comparison with contemporary competition. The last part describes the hybrid vehicles and the car manufacturer's response to emission standards with focus on the waste heat of a car.
Koncepce pohonů osobních automobilů
Pospíšil, Jan
This work is focused on the conception of the drives cars. You will become acquainted with the various concepts pioneered in the field of passenger cars, with the advantages and disadvantages of each approach and the current situation. Further mention of the development of concepts for passenger cars and where it will go in the future. In addition, there will be described and technical solutions specific vehicle. First of all, familiarize yourself with the concepts that are 4, but each is unique. In the historical part I will focus on the pioneers and interestingly designed cars. Development of the concept of drives already a few years point to the use of alternative fuels and hybrid technology.
Design of transit bus
Semerák, Jan ; Pelikán, František (referee) ; Zvonek, Miroslav (advisor)
The diplom work is focused on the design of transit bus. I pointed out two aim: design from the view of future the perspektive; environmental drive and create timeless bus design, which should be correspond with the drive of near future. It was chosen the most ecological drive with help of hydrogen and fuel cells. This drive was developed in detail. Like reserve and helpful energy source was used ultrakapacitors and fotovoltaic cells. Bus design tries to realize the future requirement of carriers and regarding to its oscillating along big cities so represent with its design the used drived unit. The internal ordering of interior tries to realize the together and future reguirements on the sit ergonomics, store of bagages, hygienic requirements and good lookout of passengers. The name and logo of transit bus arrise from reference to fuell, environment and fuell cell.
Hydrogen Combustion in Reciprocatin Piston Engines
Forbelský, Antonín ; Svída, David (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
In the thesis I focused on the summary of the facts available concerning hydrogen combustion engines. The work gives a brief history of hydrogen engines. The main part consists of a description of the specifics of the conversion of conventional internal combustion engine into hydrogen engine, and a brief overview of vehicles powered by hydrogen internal combustion engine. In conclusion, the work includes consideration of the future of this technology.
Alternativní pohony automobilů
Doležal, Ondřej
The bachelor thesis deals with alternative propulsion vehicles. Introductory section focuses on the comparison of conventional and alternative drive. Another part deals with the various alternative drives that are now available. The former, are powered hybrids, followed by electric, hydrogen power, and the conclusion of dedicated vehicles on gaseous fuels. In each chapter describes the functioning of the drive components required and refueling. At the end of each chapter are listed the positives and negatives of the drive. Finally, the study introduces selected types of vehicles with alternative drive. Cars are augmented by technical parameters. Following is an analysis of the functional properties of the vehicle.
Commercial and economic comparison of traditional and alternative fuels
Dvořáková, Monika ; Sedláček, Jiří (advisor) ; Kočan, Jakub (referee)
Negative predictions about oil stocks combined with the instability in the Middle East encourage development of alternative fuels, which would reduce dependence of the world's economies on oil. The oil and petroleum derivatives are the main dependencies for vehicular traffic, which contributes to the greenhouse gas emissions by a large part. It is therefore necessary to focus on trying to reduce the fuel consumption of cars used for personal transportation. One way to achieve this goal is, for example, to convert existing cars to run on biofuels, buying a hybrid or an electronic vehicle, or, hopefully soon, hydrogen-powered automobile. Obstacles preventing a wider deployment of such fuels and drive systems are often higher purchase and operating costs. These economic disadvantages are being gradually reduced though, and in the future we can surely expect an increase in the number of alternative vehicles on the roads.
