ŠEMBEROVÁ, DARIA. Comparison of the Polish translation of the novel "Konec punku v Helsinkách" with the original Czech version. Praha: Charles University. Faculty of Arts, 2015. The thesis deals with the issue of translatability of colloquial Czech elements and lexical Germanisms into the Polish language using the comparison of the novel Konec punku v Helsinkách by Jaroslav Rudiš and its Polish translation. The theoretical part briefly discusses the literary work of Jaroslav Rudiš, stratification of Czech and Polish national language, colloquial Czech and its use in literature and literary translation, lexical Germanisms in Czech as well as basic issues of translation of literary works. The practical part of the thesis deals with a critical analysis of the Polish translation of the novel by Jaroslav Rudiš regarding the mentioned aspects. Problems of translation Milos Macourek's fairy-tales into Polish

Summery This thesis deals with the issue of translation Milos Macourek's fairy tales into Polish. The starting point for the analysis is a comparison of two versions of a translation of selected texts. The author of the first one is Marie Erhardtowa, the second version is translated by Herman Grzeszczyk and Andrzej Kulikowski. The first part of the thesis is a theoretical preparation which explains the basic questions of literary translation. The main goal of the practical part of this thesis is to determine the target groups of readers, followed by an analysis of the particular translation issues.The conclusion contains a summary of findings and an assessment of individual translation in terms of adequacy.

The aim of this Master Thesis is to present an annotated literary translation of two chapters of the novella Vstrecha from Maxim Osipov's book, Grech zhalovatsya. The first part of this Master Thesis contains a translation of selected chapters from the novella Vstrecha. The second part, a commentary on the translation, includes information about the author and his work, style classification, the role of translation, vocabulary, intertextuality, characterization of translation methods, strategy of solving translation problems and typology of translation shifts.

Translation Variations of Apollinaire's Zone

The main goal of this dissertation is comparison of different translations of the poem Zone in the czech languague. The key part of this work is an analysis of the translation of selected passage od Zone. The summary which describes each translation of the poem is elaborated on the basis of this part. We can divide the translations of Zone into three basic streams: Karel Čapek and Petr Kopta hold the reproducing style of translation. Petr Skarlant and Karel Sýs prefer a less precise translation enriched with their own invention. Gustav Francl tends rather to the reproducing concept, but we would describe his style more as modernizing. To create sufficiant information foundations for the analysis of translations, the whole first part of the dissertation is dedicated to the theory of artistic translation, the personage of Guillaume Apollinaire, the analysis of Zone and the personages of the Czech translators.
