Motivation, reward and punishment in primary education and their practical application

The aim of the diploma thesis is the theoretic description of forms of motivation, rewards and punishments applied on elementary school pupils. The research was aimed at the individual forms of motivation, rewards and punishments that respondents apply in their teaching and what the effects are. Theory and practice are compared with the intention to highlight attitudes and features that are applied by teachers in the fields of motivation, rewards and punishments. Consequently, the agreement of forms of motivation and rewards for pupils described in the literature and their application of practical teaching at the elementary school was confirmed. However, the point the academic literature and applied practice differs were the forms and methods of pupil's punishments. Opinions about applied forms of punishment have been diverged by individual interviewed teachers although researched file shows considerable agreement in the previous two topics. The purpose of the thesis is to acquire an outline and detailed information about the given issue and their subsequent comparison with the practice knowledge. Perception of authority at teachers at primary school

The diploma thesis deals with the perception of teacher's authority at elementary school. The theoretical part introduces essential terms which are connected with this topic. For example the term authority and its changes of perception in the course of time, alternative schools and the different point of view on authority, the connection between the position of authority and discipline in class, the role of reward and punishment. In the practical part is used qualitative method. The research is based on interviews with teachers. The aim of this thesis is to obtain information related to teacher's authority. Collected data are evaluated in the seventh chapter.

Issues of punishment for traffic offences

My thesis is focused on the issues of the punishment for traffic offences. This topic is actually in the spotlight of the social discourse since the relatively high number of tragic traffic accidents leads to the call for the solution of the anomy on the Czech roads. One of possible solutions is also a proportional use of the state repression using the legal tools of the criminal law. The goal of this thesis is an analysis of all the punishments applicable to the traffic offences and their de lege lata and de lege ferenda evaluation. In the first part of this thesis, I will define all kinds of transportation and their legal basis. This is necessary to put the road traffic offences into their proper place in the system of traffic related offences. Furthermore, I define the traffic offence and I also elaborate on which offences are traffic offences per se. My conclusion is that we should use more restrictive approach when it comes to listing the traffic offence. Later on, I modify this restrictive approach by adding the offences of reckless endangerment and obstruction of an official decision. A Conception of pre-school child's resilience and its comparison from teacher's and parent's point of view The key words:  psychological resilience  pre-school child  initiative  self-regulation  attachment/relationships Abstract Theoretical part In the theoretical part the term "psychic resilience" and various approaches to it will be established. The reader will be familiarized with the factors of psychic resilience that are of the utmost importance for its development. A self-contained chapter will be dedicated to the characteristics of the pre-school child with a focus on the most important areas of said age - socialization, play, the development of self-regulation and initiative. Kindergartens as important institutions throughout the pre-school age will also be targeted. Practical part The goal of the practical part is to determine whether the viewing angle and overall conception of a child's psychic resilience differ among a child's parents and a child's teachers. Given the fact that psychic resilience is being developed in two separate environments, family and school, disparities in the conception of psychic resilience from a parent and teacher's standpoint have been observed. The Risks of Rewards and Punishments in School Age Children

This thesis deals with risks of rewards and punishments in school age children. The theme has been analysed from a few points of view. At first, I show the differences between punishments and rewards in the past and nowadays, secondly I look into the theme with three psychological theories, Behaviorism, Humanistic psychology and Cognitive psychology. In the main part of the thesis, there are defined the main risks by the synthesis of Czech and foreign sources. I mention also reasons why is the thesis focused on school age children. My thesis brings some evidence that the use of rewards and punishments could be a significant problem for development of child personality. However this problem is still rarely discussed. This thesis is focused on parents, educators and tutors who could be helped to think about negative consequences of rewarding and punishing. Juvenile delinquency, its trends and the possibilities of preventoin.

This bachelor thesis deals with youth crime. It mainly focuses on trends in juvenile crime and prevention activities carried out in the South Bohemian Region. The theoretical part of the work tries to define key terms and bring a general introduction to this specific area of delinquency. The practical part uses statistical data to analyse the specific crime of youth and its current trends and charts the existing preventive activities of the state, with a detailed focus on the South Bohemian Region. Using a questionnaire survey conducted with students, I try to determine whether, to what extent and how the respondents met with preventive activities. I will also try to confirm the assumption that "preventive activities of the state currently and fully respond to the current criminal activity of youth, specifically in the South Bohemian Region".
Positive parenting - education without the use of punishment

The thesis describes the phenomenon of education without punishment and positive parenting, which is engaged in this education. This thesis defines basic terms and definitions, which are necessary for an understanding of the topic. It describes basic parenting styles and defines unappropirate educational methods. It answers the question, why the use of directive methods is in the education ineffective and it characterizes other educational styles dealing with the educational without punishment. It also describes the problem of educational without punishment in relation to a psychology of moral development of a child and ethical issue of the problem. This thesis is beneficial for educators and parents, because it presents the description and the summary of basic educational methods without the use of punishment, from which today's society is increasingly abandoning and it is therefore important to know how to proceed in education without punishment.
