Relations and their applications
Čulíková, Markéta ; Novotná, Jarmila (advisor) ; Zamboj, Michal (referee)
The thesis deals with relations and their applications. The first chapter summarizes the introductory theoretical knowledge that is necessary for understanding the topic relations: an element, set, ordered pairs, Cartesian Product. The important definitions are introduced for all of these concepts and the related information is summarized within this chapter. The second chapter defines the concept of relations and operations on them. It includes various types of graphical representations of relations and their advantages and disadvantages. The concept of relation on a set and the properties of this relation alongside with some special types of relations derived from them are introduced in this chapter. The concepts of function are also defined in this part of the thesis. The third chapter indicates the relations that appear in real life - in relationships and games, in curriculum and puzzles. The properties of those relations are determined and the knowledge of relations and their properties is used to facilitate the solution of logical problems. It also supports gaining deeper understanding of those problems. The thesis includes two groups of tasks. The first one covers elementary tasks related to the topic of sets, ordered pairs, Cartesian Product and relations. The second part is concerned with...
Testování tolerance vybraných genotypů konopí vůči fytotoxickým účinkům zinku
Kabina, Viktoriia
This bachelor thesis was aimed at testing the tolerance of selected hemp genotypes to the phytotoxic effects of zinc. In the theoretical part, the main aspects of the toxic effect of heavy metals on plants were analyzed. Here the sources of environmental contamination with heavy metals, the uptake of heavy metals by plants, the effects of heavy metals on plants and their tolerance mechanisms are described, and the phenomenon of phytoremediation as a method of soil purification is also described. In the practical part, the influence of different zinc concentrations on selected hemp genotypes, namely French variety Felina 32 and Hungarian variety Monoica, were studied. The growth parameters of the experimental plants and the pigment content in the leaves of the plants were determined. The experiments did not prove serious effects of zinc on experimental plants, except for high concentrations in individual cases. Nevertheless, it can be said that in comparison with the Monoica variety, representatives of the Felina 32 variety were more sensitive to the presence of zinc in the soil.
Czech public opinion on the rights of homosexuals - April/May 2023
Kyselá, Monika
In April and May 2023, a set of questions on the tolerance of Czech society towards homosexually oriented women and men was included in the regular Our Society survey. At the same time, citizens' attitudes were surveyed as to whether people with homosexual orientation should have the right to enter into registered partnerships, marry, adopt children from "institutions" - so-called children's homes, and adopt the children of their partner with whom they live and in whose upbringing they participate.

The text will present the educational project "We are all different, and that's good!", which is implemented in civics education lessons. The diploma thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part defines the main terms and didactic aspects of multicultural education. It focuses on the integration of this cross-cutting topic with civics education lessons in the 2nd grade of elementary school and provides specific multicultural education activities for teaching. The practical part presents a teaching project on multicultural education, which addresses the topics of culture, prejudices and stereotypes, values, and patriotism. The final chapters of this work are devoted to the implementation itself, its reflection and discussion. This teaching project has demonstrated the possibility of effectively connecting the topics of multicultural education and the subject of man and society.
Plant growth on saline soils - interaction of sodium and potassium in plant metabolism
Peřinová, Anna ; Tylová, Edita (advisor) ; Konrádová, Hana (referee)
Soil salinity represents a significant stress factor that negatively affects plant growth and is also a current problem in modern agriculture. This bachelor's thesis focuses on the mechanisms associated with this stress, with a main emphasis on the effects of excess sodium cations in the soil, their accumulation in plants, the mechanism of their negative impact, and defense strategies. It addresses the importance of potassium and sodium in plant nutrition and metabolism, as the interference of Na+ with the essential functions of K+ is an important aspect of the stress caused by salt excess in the environment. The thesis analyzes the most important transporters and channels that ensure the uptake and transport of K+ and Na+ in plants. Emphasis is placed mainly on the transport of sodium and the mechanisms that enable plants to adapt to saline environments and tolerate higher concentrations of salts in the soil, particularly the SOS defense system against Na+ accumulation in the cytoplasm and unique structures that allow salt secretion in halophytic plants. Attention is also directed to the difference between glycophytic and halophytic plants.
Influence of avian Plasmodium on their hosts
Dulavová, Kristýna ; Svobodová, Milena (advisor) ; Vinkler, Michal (referee)
Avian malaria parasites of the genus Plasmodium are unicellular (and intracellular) protozoans of the group Haemospororida, using a blood-sucking insect (mosquito) as a vector and a bird as a vertebrate host. The effects of this disease, together with avian pox, have greatly influenced endemic populations of Hawaiian birds after introduction of a suitable vector to the islands by a human hand, leading to a drastic extinction of bird species; most of the remaining Hawaiian endemic species are now endangered. Apart from that, avian malaria is distributed nearly all over the world, infecting a variety of different hosts. This thesis is focused on the influence of avian malaria parasites mainly on their avian hosts. The most severe patologies caused by Plasmodium are associated with blood stages causing serious anemia in birds. More pathologies are connected with exoerythrocytic stages in the endothelial cells in various organs and are accompanied with external signs such as lethargy, respiratory distress, weakness, inappetence, sometimes weight loss and so on; different plasmodium species-bird host combinations have different outcomes. An interesting issue is the emerging tolerance against avian malaria in Hawaii Amakihi (Hemignathus virens), a species occupying low elevation areas of Hawaiian...

Interspecific varieties of grapevine and their utilization in the breeding
VOCÍLKA, Radek
In the thesis new interspecific varieties, which are in acknowledge-proceeding, have been observed. These varieties are Marlen, Cerason, Kofranka and Kaberon. These were cultivated from commonly used European varieties (Frankovka, Svatovavřinecké, Merlot) registrated in the State Book of Varieties of the Czech Republic. Moreover, during the cultivation blue variety called Seibel was used. This served as a donor of fungicidal desease resistance, or rather tollerance. The varieties were observed for three years and their morphological and degree qualities were investigated. The goal of the thesis was acknowledgement of these interspecific vine varieties, their registration in the State Book of Varieties and later legal protection. The task was to pass diversity, uniformity and stability tests in the proceeding and compare the new varieties with the acknowledged ones, which were used for cultivation.
