The subject of my bachelor thesis is a further elaboration of an architectural study on student housing in Brno. Buildings are designed in a U shape, with 2 main buildings on the sides, connected with a central smaller object in the front. They create a a semi-public space in-between. The main function is housing, although there is some commercial space offered on the ground floor. The main goal was to design a building that will provide comfortable space for studying and also social life.

This building will be a new space for feeding and spending the free time not only for academic community but also for public visiting the nearest neighborhoood for example Holice forest. The building is the main entrance to the premises of the faculty. In the first floor we can find café, cafeteria and library, we can visit the lectures in the auditorium in the second floor and last but not least we will find accommodation for summer school students, teachers and foreign visitors in the second and third floor. Surroundings and the shape of the building are designed to create a new public space for assembly which is now absent.
