Everyday Life during social transformation: Sociability and Social Relations of inhabitants of the inner city in Brno and Ostrava

1 Abstract This thesis deals with everyday life in major cities during the post-socialist transformation in the Czech Republic. It aims to contribute to our understanding of the everyday life of the inhabitants of Brno and Ostrava during the period and to explain the impact of the post- socialist transformation on their lives and social relations. The results are based on extensive fieldwork (i.e., a questionnaire survey and structured interviews of the inhabitants of the inner cities) conducted in Brno and Ostrava in 2007-2009. The fieldwork was based on ethnographic work describing the sociability and social relations of the inhabitants of the inner cities, with an emphasis on kinship and neighbourly relations. During the post-socialist transformation, Brno and Ostrava underwent a variety of significant changes, ranging from industrial transformation to lifestyle adjustments. They had developed differently both during and prior to socialism. For example, Ostrava became focused mainly on heavy industry, while Brno had a more varied economic structure. Since 1989, these cities have continued to diverge. As for the attitudes of informants toward their lives in the inner cities, they varied greatly. Social Capital of Civil Society Organizations: Interorganizational Relations Across All Sectors

SYNOPSIS The diploma thesis deals with social capital of Civil Society Organizations, which is introduced here as a strategy for achieving the objectives and mission of Civil Society Organizations through networking and building relations with key players in their surroundings. Through the example of Civil Society Organizations providing services in Tábor the diploma thesis provides insight into the problematic of creation and maintenance of interorganizational relations with stakeholders across all sectors and therefore building external social capital of organizations. The theories of social capital and interorganizational relations with regard to the specifications of Civil Society Organizations are presented in the theoretical part of this thesis. The research part presents findings based on qualitative research, which was conducted through semi-structured interviews with representatives of Civil Society Organizations. The findings and results are and summarized in the conclusion.
Use of Ergotherapy for People with Mental disabilities in Social therapeutic workshop

The bachelor's thesis deals with ergotherapy for people with mental disabilities in social therapeutic workshop. It is focused on mental disability, social therapeutic workshop characterization and above all it shows ergotherapy as one of possible ways of working with people with disability. New skill acquisition in the workshop contributes to the development and preservation of abilities of people with mental disabilities. That also helps to improve their quality of life. The main target of the bachelor thesis is to present a specific therapeutic program for selected clients focuses on development of cognitive functions and fine motor skills. At described cases of two clients with moderate mental disability it was shown how different can be the benefits of ergotherapy treatment. For one client the ergotherapy meant rather meaningful time spending and fine motor skills development and for the other more likely time to learn technological procedures which can be used in the future employment. This concrete case confirmed the necessity of long-term care for mentally disabled clients to have enough time to teach them necessary skills. How Czechs perceive homosexual partnership.

This bachelor thesis focuses on men's attitudes towards homosexuality as a correlating element in constructing a social approach to homosexuality. I focused my research on men with Czech citizenship aged 35 to 50 years. The research was applied qualitative data analysis using grounded theory modeled by A. L. Strauss and J. Corbin. In order to increase the theoretical sensitivity, which is essential for understanding the topic, I used the specialized literature focusing on gender and methodology. It was presented in the first, theoretical part. In the second part there were mentioned methodological concepts, on which the third research part is based, where the data obtained from semi-structured interview were analyzed. Research has shown that the attitudes of respondents are inconsistent; however, a significant influence on their semblance has the participation of men in masculine groups.
The influence of family and social relationship for the goverment and the yard of Rudolf II.

The subject of this diploma thesis is the characterization of distinguished person of the Czech history of the emperor Rudolf II. Emphasisis placed on the individual factors, that influenced the government of Rudolf II. and his court. I focus on Rudolf's collection of art, his interest in alchemy and astronomy. I also deal with significant fraternal problems, relations with women and how was Rudolf II. influenced by his mental illness. I focus the various aspects that most influenced the personality of Rudolf II. The aim of the thesis is to point out the family and social relations of Rudolf II., which were most signed by his government. This thesis also characterize the contradictory personality of Rudolf II. and why in our nation is Rudolf II. popular and distinctive personality from the Habsburg family.
