Stroke mechanism of bridge crane

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to develop a design of the lifting mechanism of a workshop bridge crane for a load capacity of 32,000 kg. The introductory part of the work is focused on a brief introduction to the issue, then there is a critical search of similar existing design solutions with related chapters dealing with the evaluation of concepts and selection of their own solutions and then follows the chapter Classification of crane and hoist. The second part of the work deals with the design and calculation of the main parameters of the lifting mechanism, including the choice of steel rope, rope hoists and calculation of the size of the rope drum. In other parts, the design and inspection of the rope drum, the selection of individual components of the lifting mechanism, such as the electric motor, gearbox, brake and clutches. The conclusion of the thesis contains the selection and method of bearing inspection, the design of the drum pin and the procedure of inspection of the tight spring joint. An integral part of the work is also the drawing documentation of the overall assembly of the lifting mechanism and the welding subassembly of the rope drum.

This Bachelor’s thesis deals with the design of a crane crab lifting gear with a load capacity of 10, 000 kg. Based on the entered parameters, the rope, rope drum, balancing pulley, and the block pulley’s main body parts, such as guide pulley, piston pins, side rails and crosspiece, are calculated. The thesis also includes a strength check of the rope drum and the individual parts of the block pulley, the draft of the lifting gear’s drive as well as the drawings of the block pulley set and selected parts.

First part consists of critical survey of existing designs made by several companies with subsequent choice of suitable conception. Main part consists of calculation of fundamental parameters of hoist mechanism that are important for definition and selection of further parts of mechanism like steel rope, pulleys and pulley block with hook. Other selected and checked parts of hoist mechanism are rope drum, electromotor, gearbox and brake. Last part of this bachelor thesis consists of selection of bearing, bearing housing, spring of output gearbox shaft, pin and welds. The output of this bachelor thesis are technical drawings of hoist mechanism and weldment of rope drum.

In the written part of this work there are the main dimensions of lift and control cable drum strength solved. The calculation is subject to quantities that are given by assignment. Choice of the electric motor, gearbox and follow-up control of the stroke speed according to customer requirements is discussed further. The second part includes production drawings, in which are included the total set of the stroke mechanism and other assemblies and production drawings.
