Birds in the phraseological similes. Contribution to the study of the linguistic picture of the world in Czech
Šťastná, Lucie ; Vaňková, Irena (advisor) ; Andrlová Fidlerová, Alena (referee)
This bachelor's thesis is a contribution to the study of the linguistic picture of the world in Czech. The first chapter of the thesis describes the formal semantic structure of the phraseological simile and further discusses the simile's position within the linguistic picture of the world. Moreover, the chapter defines the thematic group of zoonyms (names of animals) in relation to similes. The second chapter presents the linguistic picture of the prototype of a bird, and the next one focuses on specific bird species. The thesis not only reconstructs particular linguistic pictures, but also, most importantly, links them with phraseology - primarily with lexicalized similes. These set phrases relate to the bird itself (its body, behaviour and character) as well as to various significant aspects of its life (e.g. its nest or eggs).

"Everything's light and everything's upwards, the dance of elephants being uppermost". The metaphors of the movement in poetry of the poet Vladimir Holan.
Hudcová, Zuzana ; Heczková, Libuše (advisor) ; Wiendl, Jan (referee)
The purpose of the thesis is to deal with a writings of Vladimir Holan as a thematic unity, where the motifs are transformed. The metamorphosis depend on a time, when they have been written in. Our used method of his writings is in a chronological order. This thesis is focused on the motif of a movement and his metamorphosis in poetry of Vladimir Holan. The aim is to penetrate the problems of the movement as a physical activity and approached the movement as a confirmation of existence on a basis of Patočka's phenomenological phylosophy. Other chapters pay attention to analysis of motifs of movement, which are recognizable in Holan's poetry. Their feature change from lightness and freedom to heaviness and limitation. Afterwards the point of this work reaches the axis: a wind - a wave - a water flowed - a bird - a cloud - a stone - a snake - a wall. Due to the better understanding of Holan's work, we make a passing comment about the motifs which are connected with notised above. These connections will able to put our thoughts about Holan's conception in order.

Methods of personality measurement in birds
Nováková, Barbora ; Karlíková, Zuzana (advisor) ; Musilová, Zuzana (referee)
This paper deals with ethology of birds and takes a closer look at testing their personality. Personality is a general name for combination of individual's characteristics or attributes that don't change over time. Behaviour such as aggressivity, stress handling, exploration, risky or neophobic behaviour are all related to personality.
The paper shows brief history of behaviour studies, it also explains important terms from the fields of human and animal psychology. Main focus is on explaining of personality tests. Every test deals with a specific behaviour. Two tests were picked for each personality trait, one for domesticated individual or individual bred in captivity and one for individual living in a wild. The discussion compares results of tests, mainly considering the benefits for future research and whether or not the results confront other statements regarding given behaviour.
