The early literacy development and its variability in children at risk of dyslexia: The prediction models of literacy deficits.
Medřická, Tereza ; Kucharská, Anna (advisor) ; Špačková, Klára (referee) ; Bytešníková, Ilona (referee)
In the context of both projects Enhancing literacy development in European languages, work package 2 and The early literacy development and its variability in children at risk of specific learning disabilities, we monitored child development of literacy in preschool age and during the first years of school attendance in a four-stage process. The research group (n = 76) compound of typically developing children (BV = 37), children with the family risk of dyslexia (RR = 22) and children with specific language impairment (NVŘ = 17). We evaluated development of phonemic/phonological, lexical/semantic and morphological/syntactic skills, preliteracy skills and early literacy skills. The last fifth test stage included the assessment of literacy development in 3rd graders. First, a group of children with literacy deficits (n = 9) was identified via the latent profile analysis method. Subsequently, four predictive models of literacy deficits for each stage were created by means of lasso or L-1 penalized regression method. Predictive models follows the trend that until literacy skills are fully automatized (preschool age and the 1st grade), phonemic and phonological skills predominate, but later - after the formal learning to read and write proceeds - early literacy skills are becoming more and more...
Decision making of the user of the financial statements about the financial position of the enterprise
VALDMANOVÁ, Dominika
The financial health of a company is important for the decision-making of a financial statement user for various reasons. It may be important for future investors to decide if they can invest in the company. In addition, it may also be important for a bank to decide whether the company can provide a credit. However, there are other cases where the user needs to know if the company is financially health. For this evaluation, there are selected the methods used to detect and evaluate the manipulation of financial statements. As these methods are selected the CFEBT model, the Beneish model and the Jones model of non-discretion accrual. Creditworthy models are used to determine whether the company is making any value for the future and there is any danger of bankruptcy. The creditworthiness index, the Tamari model and the IN05 model are selected as these models. In the diploma thesis, these methods are applied in six companies. There are the parent company named ABC a.s. and its five subsidiaries named with Roman numerals I-V. Names of companies are invention. In the practical part of the diploma thesis, the companies are analysed according to individual models and then there is determined the influence of subsidiaries on the parent company according the correlation coefficient. In the end the hypotheses are confirmed or refuted. The first hypothesis says that the whole consolidation unit is financially health. The second hypothesis assumes that the results of subsidiaries influence the results of parent company positively.
Intercompany Comparison Based on Quantitative and Qualitative Indicators
KRATOCHVÍLOVÁ, Nicola
The topic of the thesis is an intercompany comparison based on quantitative and qualitative indicators. First, the basic concepts of the intercompany comparison, analysis and used methods of multicriterial comparison are explained. The practical part of the thesis is devoted to the creation of the own model for comparison of subjects in the selected industry to include qualitative and quantitative indicators. Five methods of multicriterial comparison are used to create the model. The created model is applied to data of 5 companies. In addition to own model, known prediction models are applied to company data. The results obtained when applying the model are compared with the results obtained using prediction models.
The financial analysis of DEVELOP MOST s.r.o.
Nyklová, Anna ; Sieber, Martina (advisor) ; Loužek, Marek (referee)
The bachelor thesis will deal with the financial analysis of the company DEVELOP MOST s.r.o. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part, there is an explanation of the basic concept and the methods and ratios used in the financial analysis. In the practical part, individual ratios will be applied to the selected company. The aim was to reveal the strengths and weaknesses of the company. In addition, the thesis will contain a segmentation analysis of the market in which the company operates as well as an evaluation and comparison of the main competitors.
Building predictive models
ZABLOUDIL, Jakub
This mater thesis is focused on building predictive models. Their fundamental task is to provide an early-warning system, giving information about potential enterprise bankruptcy. The main essence and aim of the thesis is to create multivariate classification models by using discriminant analysis and logistic regression. Emphasis is put on their predictive accuracy, which is assessed for period of three years before bankruptcy declaration. Attempts to optimize classification thresholds in order to increase the initial accuracy are also made. Evaluating classification reliability of several existing models and performing profile analysis assessing predictive ability of univariate ratios were accomplished as well.
Využití predikčních modelů v analýze nezaměstnanosti
Stejskalová, Kateřina
The purpose of this diploma thesis is compare selected prediction models. These models are used for analysis of the South Moravian Region unemployment and then compared with unemployment development in the Czech Republic. This thesis is separated to two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is used to describe selected prediction models, psychological effects of unemployment on human being and impact of unemployment on the society. The second part is focused on the analysis of the South Moravian Region. Prediction models such as trend lines, moving averages, ARIMA method and neural network are used and compared which each other. All predictions are based on data from the Czech Statistical Office and covers period between year 1993 and 2012. This data is measured with periodicity of three months.
Rating of Financial Health of the Selected Company
Žáček, Zdeněk ; Směřička, Marek (referee) ; Zemánková, Lenka (advisor)

Analysis of retinal nerve fiber layer for diagnosis of glaucoma
Vodáková, Martina ; Malínský, Miloš (referee) ; Odstrčilík, Jan (advisor)
The master thesis is focused on creating a methodology for quantification of the nerve fiber layer on photographs of the retina. The introductory part of the text presents a medical motivation of the thesis and mentions several studies dealing with this issue. Furthermore, the work describes available textural features and compares their ability to quantify the thickness of the nerve fiber layer. Based on the described knowledge, the methodology to make different regression models enabling prediction of the retinal nerve fiber layer thickness was developed. Then, the methodology was tested on the available image dataset. The results showed, that the outputs of regression models achieve a high correlation between the predicted output and the retinal nerve fiber layer thickness measured by optical coherence tomography. The conclusion discusses an usability of the applied solution.
