Screening of musculoskeletal system and level of physical activity in children of younger school age

Title: Screening of musculoskeletal system and level of physical activity in children of younger school age Objectives: The aim of the study is to asseess physical activity of school age in primary school in Dolní Břežany and try to find the most common risk factors for motor development of children in school age. Another aim of the study is to find statistical context between flat foot and age, gender, hypermobility, shortened hamstring muscles, lumbar hyperlordosis, level of core muscles and overweight and between winged scapula and age, gender, hypermobility, shortened m. trapezius and mm. pectorales and level of core muscles. Methods: The research was carried out by using non-standardized questionnaire to assess physical activity. Level of motor development was evaluated by group of physiotherapists. The research population was chosen purposefully by contractual research which consisted of 298 children who study on primary school in Dolní Břežany. For statistical analysis of all measured was used Microsoft Excel software. These data were evaluated by Chi - squared test and logistic regression. Results: It was found that the largest number of children does sports 2-4 hours a week. The most common risk factor of motor development of children is winged scapula and shortened hamstring muscles....
Playing saxophone and its potential health risks

PLAYING SAXOPHONE AND ITS POTENTIAL HEALTH RISKS Objectives: Main purpose of this study is to provide comprehensive review of health issues related to saxophone playing. The aim of this study is to collect available resources focused on saxophone players teaching methods, analyse them and compare them with existing findings of medical science. Also to try to find answers to asked research questions and to verify or disprove stated hypotheses, on the basis of acquired datas and principles eventually trying to arrange some possible outlines to complement teaching methods or preventative-compensational excercises for saxophone players. Methods: Method of this thesis is literature research using available Czech and foreign literary resources. For this purpose there have been used electronic archives as Pubmed, Ebsco, Springer, Wiley and Science Direct, monographic publications and scholarly papers from periodicals. The muscle imbalances of middle school aged children

The diploma thesis deals with the problem of muscle imbalances of middle school aged children and its relationship with their free time activities. The selected exercises were tested for the muscles involved in the lower and upper cross syndrome. On the basis of the measured results, the frequency of shortened / weakened muscles and muscles in the physiological standard were compared. A questionnaire survey was used to identify preferences of children concerning leisure activities. Based on the data obtained from the comparison of the data found in the questionnaire and the results measured during the testing of the muscles, the following topics were addressed: Whether the muscular condition is influenced by the sex, the frequency of sport activities performed and the type of sport practiced. Title of diploma thesis: Chaining of the musculoskeletal disorders from various viewpoints in physiotherapy Objective: The purpose of this thesis is to research available literary sources concerning the meaning of the term chaining of the musculoskeletal disorders in the field of physiotherapy and describing possible mechanisms of this phenomena. In addition, the thesis researchs literary resources showing demonstrations of various concepts and authors that work with this topic, inculding examples of various chains. Methods: This diploma thesis has descriptively-analytical character. It is structured in the form of literary research. Results: On the basis of the researched literary sources, the thesis explains the meaning of the term chaining of musculoskeletal disorders in physiotherapy. Based on the meaning, we showed various possible mechanisms of this phenomena. Title: Most common injuries of the musculoskeletal system among children of elementary school age who engage in gymnastic aerobics, artistic or rhythmic gymnastics at an elite level. Objectives: Ascertain the occurrence of problems of the musculoskeletal system in the form of a painful conditions and injuries among girls of elementary school age who engage in gymnastic sports at an elite level. Which part of the musculoskeletal system were most prone to injury and if and to what extent does the development of pain or the occurrence of an injury effect the performance level of the gymnasts was also constituent of the objectives as well as how is the started issue addressed from the aspect of physical therapy. Methods: For the obtainment of data the combination of quality and quantity research was employed, in the form of a structured interview and a questionnaire. The collection of data was devised retrospectively. The research population comprised of 58 girls (average age 13,5 years) who engage in gymnastic sports at an elite level. Results: A problem with the musculoskeletal system occurred with 98 % of gymnasts during the time of their elementary age. Title: Inclusion of compensatory exercises in preschool education and their impact Objectives: The aim of this work is to verify the effect of the intervention exercise program in preschool education. The next object was to evaluate the postural position of selected group of preschool children. Methods: In our empirical-theoretical work we were used the methods of comparative analysis of literature with the topic of the work. We used input and output measurements by Matthias's test. From the initial testing of 60 preschool children we selected 7 individuals with the worst results who were included in the intervention program. After the intervention we re-evaluated the postural body position of 7 individuals together with 7 preschool children in the control group. We used the method of observation during testing and during the intervention and we used mathematical-statistical methods also. Results: We were found that in a sample of 60 children had 8.4 % poor posture but it is a better score than in similarly focused studies. Seven children with the worst evaluated results were included in the intervention exercise program. Title: Malfunctions of the Musculoskeletal System and Muscular Dysbalance in Female Volleyball Players Aged 15 to 19 Years Name: Markéta Parkanová Course: Physical and Occupational Education of the Disabled Tutor: Rostislav Vorálek Objective:To detect the most common malfunctions of the musculoskeletal system and to determine muscular dysbalance in female volleyball players aged 15 to 19 years. Methods: Forty-two female volleyball players were examined. Subjects were surveyed in order to reveal any muscular dysbalance and/or any malfunctions of the musculoskeletal system by common means of examination used in physiotherapy. Subjects were all aged 15- 19 years, active high-level-competition volleyball players. The subject group was made out of two teams of players, the results were summarised for both teams together. Results: A high percentage of the subjects suffer from some kind of dysfunction of the musculoskeletal system, above all, muscular dysbalance and poor posture should be mentioned. 83% of the subjects show physiologically incorrect spine posture (round back, flat back), 74% of the subject group suffer from back pain: 48% report pain in lumbal segments and 26% suffer from pain in the thoracic segments. This bachelor’s thesis describes effect and problems on a musculoskeletal system of a horse caused by overtraining and horse racing load. In firts part the thoroughbred horse is characterized, his history and horse racing, which has a context with the thoroughbred horse. Next part of this thesis deals with a daily preparation and training of the thoroughbred horses for racing. Description of a muscule and skeletal system is important part of this thesis too. In a next part we can find text talking about typical injuries of musculoskeletal system caused by wrong training load and wrong excercising of thoroughbred horse, how exactly wrong training cause injuries, how do they show up and how is it able to prevent of an injuries. In last part of this thesis we can find statistics of injuries in USA, analysis of morbidity due to horseracing track, horse’s age and distance of races.
