Title: Paraglider's lifestyle Objectives: The main aim of this thesis is to find out the impact of paragliding on human lifestyle and to explore the temperament characteristic of paragliders. Methods: The data was collected using a semi-structured interview with five respondents and through standardized EPI questionnaires. The respondents are men between the age of 26 and 37. The interviews were recorded on the recording device and then transcribed into a Microsoft Word document using the Listen N Write application. The questionnaires were evaluated and processed in Microsoft Excel. The impact of paragliding on lifestyle was evaluated through the use of qualitative research processes such as interviews and questionnaires. Comparative methods were used to compare the obtained results with other case studies dealing with lifestyle, motivation, flying and similar sports. Results: The results of the thesis show that the impact of paragliding on lifestyle is significant. The paragliders describe the paragliding group as very different from the ordinary population. They are people who seek excitement, the feeling self-control, and especially want to define themselves. They focus more on the quality of their lives than on material goals. They perceive paragliding as more than just an activity and they...

Title of the Bachelor Thesis: Level of first aid knowledge of paragliding pilots in the Czech Republic and comparison of education in this area with selected foreign countries The Aim of the Thesis: The goal of the study was to research theoretical knowledge of Czech paragliding pilots in fist aid and comparing their education in this field to chosen foreign countries. Another goal was to find out the amount of accidents and types of injuries in motorless paragliding in the years 2012 - 2016 where first aid would have been helpful. Method: We acquired our data from Jan Hájek, the main inspector of PG. We transfered them from written form into digital form and processed with Microsoft Excel and Word. For comparation, we gathered info on whether the pilots are educated in first aid of paragliding courses, an electronic questionare was made and distributed into 13 different countries. The answers to 3 questions were processed by the software already mentioned. The answers were given by 103 respondents, 85 men and 18 women. The acquired data were imported into STATA software, which produced basic statistical inforomation. Results and Discussion: We found out, that in between years 2012 and 2016, there were 64 paragliding accidents, from those 3 were fatal. Even though the amount of active paragliders...
Anaylisis of the paragliding rescue parachute opening
Vinš, Jiří ; Dvorský, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Vondrášek, David (referee)
Theme: Anaylisis of the paragliding rescue parachute opening Aims: To contribute safety in paragliding comunity by comparing rescue parachute speed openings. We will test different types and brands and focus mainly on speed of openings from the time of deployment to fully inflated rescue parachute. We will try to simulate it as close to the real situations as possible. Methodology: For our test we used a swing bridge where we attachad a rope. Pilot would always swing on the rope and deploy the rescue parachute. Each test was recorded on the camera so we could evaulate the speed of openings and stability. Each test was split in to 5 parts - drop in (rebound), swing, dead point (stall point), deployment, mening. Another method was experimental personality characteristics of the person conducting the investigation. Results: Results : After full analysis of the survey we found that a main factor of the reserve opening is the pilot as the direction and the strenght of the throw are the key factors for the reserve to open.Fastest open parachute in our test was cirus delta it opened in 3.17 seconds from the start of throw to open. Key words: paragliding, speed, rescue parachute, process of opening

Motivational aspects of FTVS student's increased interest in skydiving and paragliding
Bartoš, Libor ; Dvorský, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Čadová, Libuše (referee)
Title: Motivational aspects of FTVS student's increased interest in skydiving and paragliding Objectives: The main objective of this work is to define in theory the psychological terms connected with motivation based on studied literature and then to make a research focused on identifying the motivational aspects of FTVS UK students to participate in the skydiving and paragliding courses. Another objective is to compare these aspects in the paragliding group and the skydiving group. Methods: The method I used in an empirical part of the thesis to collect data was the method of non- standardized questionnaire. The researched object was formed by two groups of FTVS UK students. The first group was created by students of skydiving basic course and the other one was created by students of paragliding basic course. The total number of respondent students was 65. Results from the questionnaire were analyzed by using Excel spreadsheet, primarily by a frequency and average functions. Results: I have found out that most students don't have just one motivational aspect to practise these sports, but we can mark out several groups of these aspects which appear by each student in certain proportion. After that, it was possible to identify which aspects are dominating in the paragliding group and which are...
Accidents in paragliding
Kadlecová, Kristýna ; Dvorský, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Vondrášek, David (referee)
Title: Accidents in paragliding Objectives: Main target of this bachelor work is to obtain an overall information and overview about accidents in paragliding. Based on acquired data provide an analysis of main cause of the accident and its origin. Review those accidents in relation to meteorological conditions and pilot experiences. Attempt to create a guideline for pilot to prevent such accidents to happen and contribute to increase of flying security. Methods: To fulfill the target of my bachelor's work I have collected the secondary data from the investigations of flying accidents in past 5 years in the area of Czech Republic, which are in evidence of Letecká amatérksá asociace (LAA) ČR (Flying amateur association CR). Results: I have collected and filed 79 cases of investigation of flying accidents in my work file. Those accidents are from the 2005 till 2012. All data has been filed in tables and graphs and also the data has been interpreted. In the results of my work it has been founded that biggest problem in origin of flying accidents is flying in improper conditions and absence of flying experiences and also unfamiliarity with meteorology principles and its application to real condition. Key words: accident, paragliding, security

High performance paraglider aerodynamic optimization
Grim, Robert ; Navrátil, Jan (referee) ; Popela, Robert (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the aerodynamic analysis of the competition paraglider wing. Drags of the particular wing parts are divided into chapters. The aim was to get a grasp of sizes of the individual components drags in relation to the entire assembly. In the first instance, a 2D profile and then the entire configuration of the 3D wing was analyzed. After the evaluation, some power reserves were detected in an airfoil and so the airfoil shape was optimized. After the optimization of the individual components, the CFD calculation was used again. At the end, geometry changes were evaluated.
Paragliding Navigation for Android Platform
Imrich, Martin ; Mlích, Jozef (referee) ; Láník, Aleš (advisor)
This thesis describes design and implementation of an Android application for paragliding. Airspace is divided into several areas with different rules and limitations. When is the paraglider in the air, he can hardly know that he's already in any of these limited areas - like military area or airport. This application shows these areas and helps with orientation in the air. It also helps to calculate and show landing of the paraglider depending on the nearby terrain.
