Hodnocení vybraných druhů asijských salátů v podmínkách ČR

The aim of this master thesis is to compare cultivars of asparagus lettuce (Lactuca sativa L. var. angustana L. H. Bailey) and Indian lettuce (Lactuca indica L.). Five cultivars of asparagus lettuce and one cultivar of Indian lettuce were included in the experiment. Morphological parameters, yields and content substances (vitamin C, carotenoids, nitrates and dry matter) were evaluated. The experiment was successfully carried out on the grounds of the Faculty of Horticulture in Lednice in years 2015 and 2016. Contents of vitamin C, carotenoids, nitrates and dry matter were subsequently evaluated in a laboratory. The share of domestic production in the total consumption of vegetables in the Czech Republic could be enhanced by expanding the range of other, valuable, Asian asparagus and Indian lettuces.
Možnosti péče a obnovy genofondu rodu Rheum L.

The aim of this thesis is to describe the items of the gene pool of the species Rheum L. located in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Horticulture of Mendel University in Lednice, to propose the procedure of relocation of this gene pool and evaluate the results of this relocation and to record the wintering of plants and the overall condition of the gene pool as at 30 March 2016. Included in this thesis is the process of monitoring and evaluation of the items of this gene pool. Descriptors were evaluated upon the basis of the valid classification system for the Rheum L species. A total of 44 items were evaluated. These evaluations were combined with laboratory tests of vitamin C, oxalic acid, mononitrate and fibre contents in stems. Tests for refractive solids, solids and overall antioxidant capacity were carried out. Samples of roots of medicinal species of rhubarb were obtained but laboratory tests for the contents were not carried out due to technical difficulties.

This thesis deal with comparison of czech and asian varietal range of kale (Brassica oleracea var. acephala). A practical experiment was divided into two parts. Evaluation of yield parameters and evaluation of contents of selected substances. It was totaly evaluated three varietes from czech range and one variet from asian. Asian variety has been assessed as generally robust variety, with firm struscture, high cont ent of solids and the lowest fiber content. This variety excelled with highest content of vitamin C and magnesium. Only variety 'Rednex' excelled with economic return from czech range.

The diploma thesis on The use of selected model vegetable species follows the bachelor thesis Possibilities of using the species Scorzonera hispanica L. from 2015. First part of this thesis looked into available information about this vegetable and was focused more closely on substances contained in it. The practical part of the experiment consisted of field trial and laboratory experiment. The field section used was divided into four variants, where the influence of irrigation and fertilization on the morphological and nutritional parameters was monitored. Morphological parameters and content of the black salsifies were determined in the laboratory experiment. The statistical evaluation showed positive effect of irrigation on higher levels of potassium, phosphorus and inulin. Variants without irrigation contained more fiber, magnesium and nitrates. Different processing methods of black salsify were used to determine inulin. Most inulin was found in the frozen variety and the least in cooked. To examine the possibility of introducing a black salsify into gastronomic facilities, a black salsify product was created and engaged in gastronomy for one month.
Vliv pomocného přípravku Pentakeep na vybranou modelovou kulturu zeleniny

The object of this thesis was to evaluate the effect of selected auxiliary product Pentakeep Super on Capsicum annuum. The theoretical part approaches the issue of stress factors in plants and the use of Pentakeep Super. The practical part of this thesis described the experiment based on the grounds of the Faculty of Horticulture in 2016. Varieties of Capsicum annuum 'Zlata' and 'Granova' were used as model cultures. The effect of the selected product for improvement of quality and increase of production was studied. In addition the data obtained from the experiment were statistically analyzed. Statistical analysis showed effects on the contentual and morphological parameters of the peppers. Results shows, that the application of Pentakeep have positive effect on mineral elements in fruits.
Hodnotenie druhu Talinum paniculatum pri pestovaní a následnom množení

The literary part of the bachelor thesis provides basic information on Talinum paniculatum (Jacq.) Gaertn. Focus is on possibility of cultivation and reproduction and subsequent use in gastronomy, medicine and alternative medicine. Practical part of the bachelor thesis is focused on experiment conditions, process and re-sults. Within experiment results have been evaluated morphological qualities of the cul-ture of Talinum, yield, and nutritional value, especially content of mineral substances, vitamin C and carotenoids. Content of fibre and dry matter has been determined too. Based on results it can be stated, that Talinum is appropriate vegetable suitable for culti-vating in our climatic conditions. The bachelor thesis describes the species of vegetables and the detail of the radish that I chose for my work. The practical part is monitored shelf content substances and sensory evaluation. In terms of shelf life and sensory evaluation was the best variety Miyashige and in terms of content materials was the best variety Mantanghong, although not statistically confirmed. Among the storage options, XTend was the best result, which significantly prolonged the shelf life of radish, which was statistically confirmed. Conventional storage is more of a need for shorter storage. The overall rating was the best Miyashige variety, which is most similar to our radish that the European consumer is accustomed to.
Zhodnocení sortimentu čínského a pekingského zelí z Asie v porovnání s běžně pěstovanými odrůdami

The dissertation concentrated on Chinese cabbage variety comparison - (Brassica pekinensis Ruprecht) and Chinese cabbage (Brassica chinensis L.), that come from Asia, with common varieties grown in the Czech Republic. The main point was to evaluate the nutritive ingredients and morphological and growth parameters. Five varieties were watched according to the individual criteria. These varieties were marked with numbers to be clearer. After successful filling and evaluation of the laboratory results we can say that in the certain chosen parameters the detected values were higher in the varieties that come from Asia. The results concerned C vitamin and other minerals content.

It also provides information about the popularity of tropical fruits among consumers. On the basis of graphs and charts records, which group of age buys most tropical fruits, knowing where it comes from and the lesser known species in our stores.
