The goal of the submitted thesis: "Low-cost air transport in the period of current economic crisis" is to analyze current low-cost air transport. The first part describes the air traffic and concetrates on the low-cost carriers. The second part analyzis the low-cost airlines in the different regions. The third part deals with the world economic crises and how it affected the low-cost carriers. The last part is focused on the future development of low-cost air transport.
Low-cost air transport development in Prague

Bachelor thesis deals with the topic of low-cost air transportation in the region of capital city Prague and issue of its future development. It offers closer understanding of characteristic features of aviation industry and identifies factors that positively affect its growth. Furthermore, a judgement on new international airport construction project near Prague is presented. Theoretical part describes basic knowledge about airports, their typology and operation strategies and continues with market power analysis, which greatly influence level of competition among neighbouring airports. Explanation of different airline carrier types is also a subject of this part.The beginning of practical part studies past trends of air transportation and its particular segments at Ruzyně airport and defines catchment area belonging to the airport. Latter part then continues with mathematical model for predictions on future low-cost air transport volumes. Lastly, the work contains 3 different scenarios about possible overall traffic at planned Vodochody airport.
Analýza vybraných leteckých společností a jejich postavení na trhu

Práce se zaměřuje na osobní leteckou dopravu, její vývoj, rozdělení leteckých společností a možnosti spolupráce mezi nimi a na charakteristiku letecké dopravy ve Velké Británii. Soustředí se na rozdíly mezi klasickými leteckými společnostmi a nízkonákladovými a analyzuje výkony dvou vybraných aerolinek-British Airways (jako zástupce klasických leteckých společností) a Ryanair(jako zástupce nízkonákladových leteckých společností). Na závěr jsou tyto dva typy společností a jejich výkony porovnány a pomyslně je vybrána společnost s lepším a stabilnějším postavením na trhu osobní letecké přepravy.
The influence of low cost airlines on tourism

In the first chapter is defined the fundamental concept of low cost airlines. Second and third section is dedicaded to history, creation and sequential developement of theese carriers and as well their characteristics. Following part is attended to airline traffic and its importance for tourism. In the last most extensive section, is analysed the influence of airline industry on tousim in the Czech Republic, at firts in general view of low cost carriers and tourism and further is this influence searched and analysed through three concrete airlines and four chosen regions.
Comparision of airlines marketing strategies on the Czech market

This thesis is divided into 5 chapters. In the fist chapter is generally described marketing of services and contemporary situation of air transport on the Czech market. Next chapters discuss the history, SWOT analysis and marketing strategies of low cost carriers, Lufthansa and ČSA. In the last, fifth chapter, is accomplished the comparison of the above-mentioned airlines according to their marketing strategies and Skytrax Research and is forshown the future development.
