Fingerprint identification algorithm
Skoupilová, Alena ; Vítek, Martin (referee) ; Kašpar, Jakub (advisor)
The main goal of this thesis is to introduce the meaning of term identification and term biometrics as a key field for fingerprint recognition. Thesis also introduces principals and types of automatic processing of fingerprint images and automatic fingerprints identification algorithms. An existing and successful methods are being described in the thesis and pre-processing of fingerprint images is being realized. Automatic fingerprint identification algorithm based on distance of minutiae from the core, core type and orientation field of the fingerprint is proposed. The proposed algorithm was tested on a database of fingerprint images and was statistically analysed.
Biometric fingerprint identification
Hodulíková, Tereza ; Smital, Lukáš (referee) ; Vítek, Martin (advisor)
This master's thesis deals with fingerprint verification. The theoretical part consist of biometry identification systems and evaluating their reliability and robustness. After that we focus on fingerprints properties needed to identification. We mention several types of fingerprint sensors, which are generaly in public use. In practical part of thesis we deal with enhancement of fingeprint image and methods of identifications. At last we created software for fingeprint identification in programming environment Matlab.
Brute Force Attack on Access System Using Synthetic Fingerprints
Polehňa, Dominik ; Goldmann, Tomáš (referee) ; Kanich, Ondřej (advisor)
The work deals with the resistance of the VeriFinger comparison algorithm to synthetic fingerprints. The basics of fingerprints, comparison algorithms and synthetic fingerprint generators are gradually analyzed. In total, three experiments were designed to test the resistance of the algorithm using synthetic fingerprints. An application using the VeriFinger algorithm was implemented to evaluate individual experiments. A total of 2 800 000 synthetic fingerprints were generated across all experiments. The first experiment showed that random fingerprint generation was not effective for real fingerprints, but was somewhat sufficient for synthetic fingerprints. The second experiment proved that comparison and the comparison score could be used to estimate the class of the identified fingerprint, and in the third experiment, by narrowing the generation to one class, it raised the total number of matched fingerprints. The results of individual experiments were written and their possible extension was suggested.
Fingerprint biometry
Smékal, Ondřej ; Drahanský, Martin (referee) ; Fedra, Petr (advisor)
Algorithms designed for identification and verification persons by fingerprints recognition are spread and used as in forensics aplications as in private sector for a long time. The aim of this thesis is to make us aquainted with various aplicated mathematic models of fingerprint processing in digital way. Second task is the presentation algorithmic solution of chosen subject identification procedure by force of Fingerprint matching. Algorithm is solid in the development environment platform Matlab.
Algorithmic Evaluation of the Quality of Dactyloscopic Traces
Neprašová, Kateřina ; Blahák, Martin (referee) ; Drahanský, Martin (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the problem of the degradation of dactyloscopic traces. Apart from the summary of the methods of processing and use of dactyloscopic traces in common criminalistic practice, enumeration of influences on the degradation of traces, description of computer processing methods and description of algorithms evaluating the quality of the fingerprints, the thesis includes the creation of sets of fingerprints, which were created on different materials and examined in different environments depending on time. The samples are evaluated both in the laboratories of the Department of Criminalistics and Expertise of the Police of the Czech Republic and algorithmically. For this purpose, a tool that uses the NFIQ 2.1, MINDTCT, FingerJetFX OSE algorithms and the Innovatrics SDKit library has been developed. The output of this is a clear visualization of the results of the algorithmic analysis. The difficulty of determining the degree of degradation from fingerprint images was demonstrated by observation and algorithmic analysis.

Synthetic Fingerprints Generator with Dactyloscopic Minutiae
Kodaj, Radoslav ; Sakin, Martin (referee) ; Kanich, Ondřej (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to improve algorithm for synthetic fingerprint generation using dactyloscopic minutiae. The focus will be on the analysis of minutiae and on the creating of algorithm that will generate enhanced fingerprints. The improvement consists in using larger scale of minutiae . This work also includes basic knowledge about fingerprints, their sensing and recognition. The theory also deals with the study of generation methods from which the improved generator is also developed. The improved generator is created according to the design. The results of the improvement of fingerprint generation by the new algorithm are also summarized.

Analysis of Fingerprint Spoofs Created from Mold Done by Burning Technique
Sochová, Terézia ; Sakin, Martin (referee) ; Kanich, Ondřej (advisor)
This work is devoted to the production and analysis of fingerprint spoofs created from mold using a burning technique. The aim of this work is to create fingerprints spoofs from different materials and then to design and to implement an algorithm that compares spoofs with model fingerprints. Spoofs are made using beech wood molds. In order to create the fingerprints, plasteline, silicone and liquid latex are used. The analysis of the differences between fingerprint spoofs and their real fingerprints is based on the minutiae extraction and on their subsequent processing. The results of analysis are represented by three monitored metrics: number and type of minutiae, number of paired minutiae and average distance difference between fingerprint spoof minutiae and real fingerprint minutiae. The created program is tested using a database of produced fingerprint spoofs. The results of the program are compared with the results of the VeriFinger application. Both programs agreed that spoofs made by silicone are the ones of the highest quality.
Editor for WSQ Format of Fingerprint Images for Demonstration
Németh, Patrik ; Rydlo, Štěpán (referee) ; Kanich, Ondřej (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to design and implement an application suitable for demonstrating the individual steps of fingerprint analysis, and which is able to automatically process fingerprints stored in the most widely used formats for storing fingerprint imagery, such as WSQ, PNG and JPEG 2000. In this thesis special attention was given to automatic processing methods and analysis of fingerprint imagery. It also offers an overview of the WSQ format and of its comparison to JPEG 2000. The output of this work is a graphical application capable of demonstrating individual steps of widely used methods of fingerprint imagery processing and analysis. The application implements Gabor filtering, line thinning based on the Zhang-Suen method, and other methods of fingerprint processing. With some error, it is capable of detecting minutiae, singularities and the class of a fingerprint. Some of the processing parameters may be modified by the user via the graphical interface. Processed images can be exported in various image formats.
