Pavlík, Ondřej ; Stanko,, Ing Štefan (referee) ; Pollert,, Jaroslav (referee) ; Prax, Petr (advisor)
This work deals with the use of 3D mathematical models of fluid in water management practice. Using 3D mathematical model was assessed retention tank Jeneweinova, which is situated on a sewer network of the city of Brno and is an important object of urban drainage. Retention basin designed to keep overflow from CSO chambers to Svratka and Svitavský náhon during storm events. Retention tank Jeneweinova is suitable for the assessment, because tank was designed bassed the Master Plan drainage of Brno using 1D mathematical model. Another factor was the physical model, which was build in LVV Vin FAST BUT. And finally, near the retention tank will be installed measurement on the sewerage network, which will be able to verify the results whitch has been predicted in this work. Mathematical model of retention tanks Jeneweinova was build in software FLOW-3D. FLOW-3D is a general purpose CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) software for flow of fluid in steady and unsteady mode and uses computational techniques to solve the equations of motion of fluids. This software is mainly used for the calculation of hydraulic fluids, gas flow and heat transfer simulations. Results from 3D mathematical model has been compared with the values in the physical and 1D mathematical model.

The thesis describes the development of a computational tool that allows sophisticated analysis and design of flue gas cleaning technologies for thermal treatment of waste. The assessment of a technological composition of the process in terms of energy consumption, temperature of the flue gas stream and ensuring the fulfilment of emission limits allows estimating the influence of flue gas cleaning system on parameters of an up-to-date waste incinerator. The work is based on an already created computational system. Its output will be integrated into a software system with a user-friendly interface. Creation of the computational system is based on the performed research in the given area. The work presents sets of operational values and relationships describing current technologies used to reduce harmful emissions in the flue gas from thermal treatment of waste.
Complex simulator of the solar irradiance
Petrov, Roman ; Radil, Lukáš (referee) ; Ptáček, Michal (advisor)
This work consists of a theoretical part, which deals with various ways of mathematical equations to model the thermal photovoltaic cell. Thermal modeling describes a photovoltaic cell temperature, and heat capacity of the photovoltaic cell. This temperature is usually function or directly dependent on the intensity of solar radiation. In the theoretical section explains several ways to model thermal photovoltaic cells. Thermal modeling is outside the scope of this paper, it is mainly the modeling of solar irradiance, which is discussed in detail in the next section, and then in the practical part. The practical part is concerned with constructing mathematical equations that describe the intensity of solar radiation. These mathematical equations are then used to build a mathematical model. The actual mathematical model is created in a computer program PSCAD, wherein the main input parameter of the intensity of solar radiation. This model can simulate the course of the sun, for which it is necessary to set various parameters such as: region, time of day, the seasons, but also has a function that is essential for modeling of solar radiation intensity, and it is cloudiness. Cloud is fundamentally changing the size of the radiation intensity, and its direct constituents. After compiling a complex simulator of solar irradiance, this simulator is tested for its validation in form of doing couple of graphical runs of intensity of solar radiation for various locations on Earth, which are time dependent.

Analysis of the age of water in the pressure sewer network
Zuzaňák, René ; Nevrlý, Robert (referee) ; Ručka, Jan (advisor)
The thesis deals with the age of wastewater in the pressure sewer network in the village of Horní Ředice, Pardubice district. In the introductory part of the thesis the current state of the problem is presented. The second part focuses on general principles for design and operation of pressure sewers. In the practical part, the area of interest was first characterized and the sewerage system in the municipality was described. A quasidynamic hydraulic model of the entire pressure sewer network was developed to determine the age values of the wastewater in the pressure sewer network. The operating conditions were projected in the simulation model of EPANET 2.2. Pressure ratios, wastewater age, flow velocities and flows in the pressure sewer network were considered in the processing of the hydraulic analysis results. Based on the results of the hydraulic analysis, measures to improve the conditions in the pressure sewer network were proposed.

Modelling of flows in a heat exchanger
Hudeček, František ; Milčák, Pavel (referee) ; Špiláček, Michal (advisor)
This thesis considers problematics of calculating and designing heat exchangers. First way of solving the designing problem is by using mathematical formulas for heat transfer, which are based on manifold measurements. Second approach is can be considered modern as the designing of heat exchangers is realized by using computing technology and appropriate software for simulation of flow and heat transfer. These computations are realized for specified type of heat exchanger that is chosen after a brief research. The results are then post processed, commented and these two approaches are compared and evaluated.
Back and forth between science and reality: Mathematical modelling in tasks with a science context (didactic experiment)
Šmíd Ridzoňová, Ráchel ; Havlíčková, Radka (advisor) ; Vondrová, Naďa (referee)
Mathematical modelling is part of the focus of the educational area "Mathematics and its applications" in the Czech national curriculum and is also a widely studied topic abroad. However, it does not receive much attention in Czech research. This thesis aims to introduce the concept to Czech readers and test the connection of mathematical modelling with science topics and the implementation of modelling tasks in the 5th grade of primary school. The thesis presents mathematical modelling as solving process of a complex problem with a real context in steps (0) undertanding the problem, (1) creating the real model, (2) mathematization, (3) mathematical operations, (4) interpretation of the result and (5) validation of the solution. Modelling competence, the modelling probem, and the relationship to word problems are also described. The chosen qualitative research method of didactic experiments explores the application of a holistic and analytical approach to teaching, identifies the difficult steps of modelling for 5th- grade students, and provides insights into cross-curricular relationships and organizational forms in the teaching of modelling. The research findings positively demonstrate that incorporating modelling tasks into regular lessons and linking them to science topics is possible but...
